Fat Ps3 Or Slim Need Answers

PS3 slim vs fat PS3................?

is anyone going to sell their fat ps3 to buy the slim? i like the slim look way more than the fat so i was thinking to sell my ps3 and pre order slim? who thinks i should and why? or should i just stick to my fat ps3?
my mum also told me i can do it a cheap way by giving it some exercise to make it go slim.

Ps3 Fat vs Ps3 Slim ?

I started with a fat and went through two of them, they both went due to overheating. I kept them in a pretty cool place with plenty of ventilation space. As soon as the slim came out I bought one. The two things that aren't that great about slims are: no backwards compatibility (don't care since I still have a PS2 slim and PS3 fat) and they are less aesthetically pleasing (no gloss finish or mirrored Playstation 3 logo on top). It is very easy to get a USB hub so that is no problem. I would still say go for the slim so you will have a much better chance at having it survive.

Which is better, the PS3 fat or the PS3 slim?

Technically, the slim is better. It has superior cooling system which ensures less chance of overheating. I also heard (though I am not sure) that the slim consumes less energy.Subjectively, however, I prefer the fat one because I think it looks better. I love the glossy piano-black body and the shape is just better to look at. It gives a perception that the item is more expensive than the slim one. The slim PS3 has cheaper-feeling plastic on the outside. The quality’s great, but it feels cheaper than the fat one. The plastic feels more scratchy and harder than the glossy fat, but it’s still a solid piece and not really that scratchy. In terms of design, I think the fat has more interesting details and contrast, but the slim looks great too. The “on” and “eject” buttons on the fat one are not actually buttons, but more like touch sensors. The ones in the slim PS3 are normal buttons, another side that makes the fat feel more premium. The PlayStation logo on the fat one is multicolor, while the one in the slim is single-color. The “PS3” font on the slim is black, just like the rest of the body, while the “Playstaion 3” font on the fat one is chrome-colored, which again, gives a more premium feel.Speaking of font, I much prefer the fat’s font, which looks really cool. The font for the slim looks okay, but it’s not as special as the fat one. You can see the font being displayed at the screen on the fat one everytime it starts a game.I also love the bigger size of the fat, which makes it look more valuable. I’m not usually a fan of big size, but this one’s an exception. The slim looks like a cellphone when compared to the fat. The basic shape of the slim resembles the fat, but it’s more minimalistic.I actually own the slim one and although I like it, I think the fat one just looks classier and more elegant.

PS3 Fat vs. Slim vs. Super Slim?

So, as a gift from my dad I got the 500GB Assassin's Creed 3 PS3 Bundle. Now, no where on the box did it say it was the super slim model. I was trying to play PS2 games on it, and every answer I found online wasn't working. Of course, I figured out now that it depends on the model of sizes for each PS3. And pricing them around, there is a high chance that I'd never be able to afford a PS3 Fat. Considering the price range to for Fat is anywhere from $500 to $1,000, there's no way I could ever afford one. So I was looking at the Slim ones, which the prices are up to, what, $500 LESS for more GBs. (On another note, I think Sony was drunk off their asses when they priced these?? PS3 500GB + $40 Assassin's Creed 3 + $75 Store credit was $300. 80GB fat PS3 ALONE is $850. I don't have ANY idea, but that's beside the point)

Long story short;
I know PS3 Fat can play pretty much all PS2 games, and a Super Slim can't (unless bought from the PS.Store) But what about the Slim? I haven't found a straight answer. But can those play PS2 games and/or are there limitations for the games? Also; I'd prefer just an answer here (simpler, I'm decent with computers but not with consoles) and not links, if that's possible :)

ONE MORE NOTE; I know the games are played based on how they meet the TRC, which from what I know is most/if not all PS games made by Sony themselves (Not fake; I've got a few of those that I had unknowingly bought). I also know that, yes, I have a PS2 (obviously) and I could just play the games there, but I had hoped to sell mine and get some extra money. So I was really hoping to be able to play PS2/PS1 games on the PS3.

ANOTHER last note: If you have any places where I can get a PS3 fat that has a decent amount of GBs, and isn't... extremely priced (I'm kinda cheap, but I'm hoping $400 at the MAX, which I know is unlikely) I'd love it if you'd share! I really want to find one <3

Thanks!

Should I buy refurbished fat ps3 or new slim ps3?

I need to replace my 80gb 2 usb PS3, it still works for the most part and im going to see how much gamestop will give me for it. But Im stuck between buying a new slim ps3 for $300, or a refurbished 4 usb PS3 for $250. I want to be able to play my ps2 games on it but yet I'm nervous about getting the YLOD on the fat ps3. But the 4 usb slots and the SD card slots and backwards compatability quickly out weighs the slim ps3's features. But again im scared about it breaking on me in a short period of time, so which one should I get? And also is there a warranty I can buy for a used PS3? How long is the warranty and how much does it cost? Thanks

Which is the best: PS3, PS3 Slim, or PS3 Super Slim?

I would say the super slim. I've owned multiple of the other 2 but only 1 super slim. The original PS3 isn't worth your money, you'll have it a couple of months then the YLOD will mentally kill you or your motherboard will mess up, or the disc 'tray' will break (don't know what to call it, as it just slides in :D) so many problems with this console that they should all be sledgehammered.the slim was the console that should have been released first, even if we had to wait a little longer for it. It was way better but still had many, many faults, many of them were still the same. I had to buy a fan for the slim because the overheating was overwhelming. I also had the same problem with the disc 'tray'.but the super slim, the only way the disc tray could break is if you did it yourself. I didn't have one problem with it and I had it for 2 years. Well, it didn't come on one time but that was because of the power cable, which I replaced after of course. That was the longest I ever had a PS3 for. The others lasted probably 1 year max lol.If your actually considering buying a PS3 then deffo the super slim. I'd rather spend that money for the PS3 on a PS1, won't last as long but the nostalgia is incredible, always get goosebumps

Which is better, the PS4 or the PS4 Slim?

Both are same. PS4 was launched first. Later they redesigned the look of the PS4 made it a little lighter and slimmer. Thus came PS4 Slim. Functionally they both same. This is PS4 -and this is PS4 Slim -If you are planning to buy one I would suggest neither. Go for PS4 Pro. Here is a spec comparison between the three -Hope this answers your question.

Which is the best PS 3 model (fat, slim, or super slim)?

Slim. Both in build quality and power consumption. Fat takes more power and is heavy. Super slim feels cheap.

Will my fat PS3 hard drive fit in the super slim?

About two months ago, I upgraded my fat 80GB PS3 hard drive with a 500GB. Two weeks after that I got the YLOD for the second time. I took it apart and tried to reheat the soldering with a hairdryer. Didn't Work. For about three weeks I didn't touch it, it sat in my room, while I played LoL. Then I managed to get my hands on a heat gun, and decided to try it again. Currently, my PS3 is running well, as long as I keep it well ventilated. However, I'm not sure how long my PS3 will last, and I need it to last until the PS4 later this year. I was thinking about getting a slim, considering that I don't trust used consoles and brand new 80GB PS3 fats are around $500; but I wasn't sure if my current hard drive will fit into a slim. Now I'm thinking about a 12GB super slim and just insert my hard drive, but I'm still stuck with the same problem. My saves aren't a concern, because I have an extra hard drive that I can back it up to. But what would I need to do to fit my 500GB hard drive into a super slim?

Is or was anyone pissed at Sony for removing backwards compatibility on the ps3 slim.. ?

I have 3 ps2’s.. I can’t get any of them in working condition anymore and I heard I could play my ps2 games on the ps3... so I went and bought a new one.. nope..
