FedEx Delivery Exception help?
So today is a saturday and my shipping method is fedex ground so i dont think they would deliver on a saturday, but they did and now i missed my package so when i check the tracking status it shows "Delivery exception Incorrect address - Apartment/Suite number Recommended action: Contact us at https://www.fedex.com/insight/info/contactus.jsp to provide correct delivery address and/or additional delivery information." Well i did call the driver and ask what will happen to my package and he said to wait next week and my estimate delivery shows 12/26/2012 now. Do i have to call up about this notice or can i just ignore it and still have my package delivered. Really worried x-x. If this isn't the right details provided please tell me and i will remake question with the reply.

No one rang or knocked on your door because they don't know where it is - that's why it said incorrect address. It's possible that although you provided all the correct information the address label was wrong. Street numbers can be transposed or have digits added/missing, zip codes can be typed incorrectly. "School St." may have been entered as "School Rd." and there isn't one in your town - there are a lot of incorrect addresses this time of year. As far as it being returned to the shipper, FedEx probably contacted them to get the correct address, and the shipper did not want the package delivered to a different address. That is also quite normal. To resolve this as quickly as possible call the shipper and ask them to re-send your item. Verify with them that the address information is correct. Good luck!
FedEx Delivery Exception help!!?
So I had a package that I was expecting tomorrow, but when I checked my order online tonight this is what I saw. Oct 23, 2012 10:57 AM Delivery exception ROCHESTER, NY Incorrect address - Street name Oct 23, 2012 5:54 AM On FedEx vehicle for delivery ROCHESTER, NY but I checked the address I originally ordered with and it's correct- no misspellings, typos, nothing. Help please! What should I do?
What does a fedex delivery exception mean?
stupid fedex- can't even deliver the package. I'm supposed to get something but after first attempt (CUSTOMER NOT AVAILABLE) they're going to try again. it went on the truck at 5:55am and still today no delivery (it's 2:56 pm) when last delivery was @ 10:14am yesterday! UPS and USPS ALWAYS DELIVERS ON TIME!
What does this mean from FedEx " Delivery exception".?
According to the FedEx FAQ (cited below), "an exception occurs when a package is temporarily delayed while in transit. . . . an exception does not necessarily denote a late shipment. The status exception explains the most recent exception in the scan activity section." There are various types of delivery exceptions, so please re-post with the one applicable in this case. For example, the term "PMX" refers to a p.m. exception, when a shipment is returned to a delivery station for the night because it was undeliverable during the courier's route. Such a delivery exception may occur because the package was incorrectly addressed, a recipient was unavailable, etc. In many cases, delivery is re-attempted the next day. Hope this helps.
How reliable are FedEx and/or UPS delivering to a new address, as in mostly new construction on a new street that hasn't yet been added to Google Maps or GPS systems?
From (recent/ongoing) personal experience - not very reliable. At least regarding UPS and USPS. I haven’t even had to do deal with FEDEX…yet. We are currently moving into our new construction and have been fighting this battle with the USPS and UPS for well over a month.We started before we even moved trying to be preemptive however have had minimal success. We have even had UPS drop something off at our house only to have the exact same problem the next day. Oh and the mail man dropped off ONE LETTER….once. Excuses range from everything like the address is wrong, the house doesn’t exist, the street doesn’t exist…blah,blah,blah. Collectively…I would say my husband and I have attempted to correct this issue more than a dozen times. That includes showing up in person at various facilities, online chat help, in writing, over the phone….the list goes on. There are a ton of houses already up in the development but we are the first on this street. I can’t even imagine those who are the only house in the middle of nowhere.It’s frustrating on many levels. It requires us to be even more fastidious regarding bills (since we’re not receiving any mail either) awaiting important paperwork via mail as well as attempting to set up a home office since we both work from home. On top of the fact that our shipments are sometimes work related.Honestly, the whole scenario would try the patience of a saint. Again, this has been my personal experience. I like to think that they are those out there who haven’t had any trouble at all. Good luck.
Fedex Delivery Exception: Recipient Moved? What to do?
Fedex delivered a package to me early this morning, However, I live on the top floor, and for some reason my downstairs neighbors told the Fedex guy that no one by this name lived here. The Fedex guy sped away before I could call him back, but I saw him writing something on the package. What do I do now, and will Fedex try to redeliver it again or will it go back to person who sent it?
What Does FedEx mean when that say Incorrect address?
The address label is read by a scanner. If the address is not in the proper form or if the address is incomplete it will generate an incorrect address notice. I would suggest calling FedEx 1-800-463-3339 and ask for customer service. Explain to them the situation and give them the tracking number. If there is a problem you can straighten it out with them and they can attach any needed memo to your electronic information for the package.
Can I change my delivery address after a FedEx package has been shipped?
Andrew Mariano’s answer is spot on, the shipper can contact Fed Ex and change the delivery address. This can be done in multiple ways, in person at a Fed Ex location, on the phone. or on line. all will require you send or turn in signed paperwork authorizing the change. If that isn’t possible Fed Ex will attempt to deliver. When that fails they will leave paperwork on the door and the recipient can then either note the new address on the form that the driver will pick up on the re-delivery attempt the next day. You can also contact them on line and input the data from the delivery notice left on the door to redirect the package.
