Feeling Unable To Focus And Concentrate

It's my exam tomorrow and I am unable to concentrate. I don't feel like studying and I am disturbed. What are some suggestions on what to do?

It's the exact situation I'm going through right now and here's what I'm going to do:-I'll close my books and just stare at the wall for 5–10 minutes. This will clear my mind of any thoughts.I'll go for a walk and just observe the things happening around. This will energize my body and will refresh my mind.I'll sit on my table and list down all the points on ‘ Why is it important to score good in this examination?’.This will provide me with all the positive motivation I need.I'll open my books and will go through the questions that are more probable to come. This will help me recollect things I've already studied.I'll write bullet points of the important topics to be seen before entering the examination hall. This will give me confidence when I enter the examination hall the next day.I'll have a sound sleep of minimum 6 hours and will set up an alarm of 5 AM.This will provide my mind and body the rest it needs.I'll check all the necessary stationaries and my admit card and finally doze off. This will save me from the hassle in the morning and I'll reach my examination centre on time.P.S. : All the best..!!

I am unable to concentrate on anything. Just feel overwhelmed. What do I do?

Concentration is a state of mind. Clarity of thoughts can be achieved very easily with the steps mentioned below:1. Whenever you are confused, and are in a state of utter overwhelm, take a pen and paper and write down your thoughts. If you carry cell phone all the time, make use of your notepad in it. 2. Then, think rationally which thoughts are useful and which ones are garbage.3. Focus and keep the useful ones and discard the useless ones then and there. Think only about the ones that are useful. 4. This will help you to cut through overwhelm and have amazing clarity of thoughts.Hope this helps! All the Best!! :)

Why does my brain feel heavy and unable to concentrate?

I like to think of my mind like a horse. If I feed it good oats and train it every day, then it is going to run fast for me.If I give it a bath and then put it outside at night in freezing weather, then it is going to get sick. Here are some reasons your brain might be working not as well as it could:You didn’t eat good food The good foods to eat are blueberries, dark chocolate, avocado, broccoli, eggs, salmon, beets, and whole grains. You didn’t drink good drink The good drinks to drink are green tea, coffee, and water. You didn’t sleep enough If you’re in college, make it a habit to go to bed by 10PM sharp. You aren’t going to miss that much. You didn’t exercise enough Thirty minutes a day should do it. Even if it is a 30 minute walk, that’s a start. You are distracted Turn off the phone and go somewhere quiet. If you are in conflict with someone, make peace with them.If you can think of your brain as an organ to take care of, you can take the necessary steps to feeling light and focused.I have a theory about the human mind. A brain is a lot like a computer. It will only take so many facts, and then it will go on overload and blow up. –Erma Bombeck

Hard time focusing and concentrating?

Ive been noticing I have a hard time focusing on things and concentrating. My mind tends to wander, or I get off track from what im doing. Im 26 i dont know if its possible to get ADHD or ADD at this age I never had it before.

I want to be able to focus better at work, I get overwhelmed really easily too.

Does anyone know what I can do to help this?

I am unable to concentrate on my studies, when I am at my home. Is this kind of inability to focus peculiar in my case or is it a common syndromme?

I see you are a student. That is qualification enough to be distracted from studies. Throughout my school life, I was an average student; I had beautifully drafted time-table, broken down goals and neatly arranged books. Had I stuck to the plan, I should have graduated from Harvard now. When I started my undergraduate studies, a sudden spark brightened my mind. But the flame extinguished in a semester's time. And for the next 7 semesters that followed, I meticulously burnt the midnight oil before every exam. I would sleep till that evening, and then dust my book open (most likely for the first time) after dinner that night. I would sit through the pages of fat engineering books all night, till the rooster signalled me the following morning. At his signal, I would quickly bathe, eat and rush to university. And I remained silent until the exam gets over every time. My mother used to wonder sometimes whether I hurriedly stuffed all the pages into my mouth, the previous night, and vomited it on my exam sheet the following day. Competitive exams do not require exemplary writing or extraordinary memory skills. You don't need a reading speed of 500 words a minute. The only hack to cracking a competitive exam is consistency. The more you practice, the easier you sail through. But don't worry. This story holds good for almost everyone. Most of my classmates fell under this bracket. All of us are well placed in life today. It is a part of being a student that you are lazy.

I can't concentrate on anything.?

Hello craycray, I know how you feel - lately I've been losing ALL my concentration, sleeping late, getting depressed, not being able to go far with school and everything! If people see a change in you from what they use too see then they know that somethings up! Go to sleep as soon as you can, and just have a longggg lyein tomorrow so when you decide to get out of bed you'll feel abit more lighter, then just have a longg hot shower/bath and just relax and kick back, and if you start feeling better try and do your homework then - in school if you feel like **** then just take notes down in every subject{this is what I do} so when you go home you'll be able too maybe think a little better as you may feel like you're getting taught at the same time you're doing homework! If you still feel like you're doing everything wrong try speaking to you're parents/guardian and say lately you really cannot concentrate and you're worried and then maybe they'll give you tips! I'm really sorry to say this cray, but you should go to the doctors if it carries on as maybe it could be a sign of depression, because that was for me! - I hope everything goes well, good luck and keep you're head high!
