Fees For Having A Paypal Business Account And Selling On Ebay

If I have a PayPal business account do I have to claim taxes as though I actually have a business?

I sell through ebay (clothes, things laying around my house, etc.) just silly things... I want to upgrade to a business account b/c I had an issue with someone stalking me when they saw my name (my first and last name show up when they pay me)
I want the business account only so I can type in a "business" name and not my personal name... but if I sign up for the business account does that mean I will have to claim what little money I make throughout the year, on my taxes?
Thanks in advance for any help :)

Seller's account through PayPal and EBay?

You will have to have either a checking account, a REAL debit card attached to a checking account or just a checking account. If you only have a personal PayPal account you might want to consider upgrading to a seller account or you may be limited in how much you can receive in a year.

There are many more things you should look into before you start. Including the fees involved. Both eBay and PayPal charge fees. Since you will be a new seller PayPal will also put a hold on your money that can last up to 21 days before they release it. You will need to be able to figure out the exact weight of your items, (a single ounce can make a difference in shipping costs), unless you are using Flat Rate boxes, (not a good idea if you are shipping light weight items).

You will also need to figure out a clear and concise return policy, (there's no such thing as no refunds in the real world). You need to exactly describe your item with any flaws noted or face a lot of returns in your future. You need to take bright sharp photos with a real camera and not your cell phone.

Do lots of reading and ask lots of questions.

What kind of PayPal account is needed to sell on Etsy, eBay or bonanza?

Your ordinary buying account is fine for your first few transactions, but after that you will have to upgrade to a business account and attach a credit card so that you can be charged applicable fees (30 cents per transaction or 2.9% whichever is higher).

If you owe a small amount in seller fees (Less than $15) for Ebay and remove your paypal from your account, will they still charge you?

This is sourced directly from: eBay http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/...1. eBay will assess 1.5% late fee each month you do not pay. 2. Account suspended for non-payment3. eBay will attempt to charge any card you had on file for the delinquent amount.4. May be responsible for collection and related legal cost. 5. eBay will begin reporting delinquency to credit bureaus. Below was pulled directly from eBay via the above Web page.. If you haven't paid your amount due by the payment due date each month, you'll be billed a late payment charge of 1.5% of the balance past due or the highest amount permitted by applicable law, whichever is lower. This fee will be applied on the day after the payment due date. It will be applied each month until the overdue amount is paid.If your account becomes past due, in addition to owing late fees, your account may be suspended for non-payment, and you may be responsible for collection and related legal costs. For accounts more than 180 days past due, action may include deducting the amount owed from your PayPal account balance. We may report information about your account to credit bureaus, so late payments, missed payments, or other defaults on your account may be reflected in your credit report.  In the event your seller account is suspended for any reason, any amount due on your account will immediately become due and payable. You're responsible for paying all fees by the payment due date. We reserve the right to immediately charge any amount you have not previously disputed to the payment method that you have on file. It would be easiest to just pay the invoiced amount for what you owe. Kevin

Can I sell stuff on ebay without a Paypal account?

I'm not sure you can, because you need to be able to verify yourself. You can ask people not to pay via paypal and only accept cheques etc, but I think to become a seller in the first place you need paypal or something really similar.

To become a seller you'll need to:

1) Verify your identity

2) Select your preferred method of paying seller fees

3) Offer PayPal or a Merchant Account Credit Card as a payment method

Can I still sell on eBay as a PayPal Student Account?

So, the account itself essentially worked the same way as the normal paypal account, the added bonus was that you could link a MasterCard to it and pay via your PayPal. Which is actually pretty awesome - I used to have one As the other answer said, they have chosen to discontinue the use, which means they will or already have change your account to a standard PayPal account. To answer your original question, yes, you can. Paypal business account questions?

Nope, They really don't mess with your account, anyone could apply for a business account. The few reason why a person would upgrade to business account are to get cheaper rates when they do online business like ebay selling, wire transfer between customers, refunds and stuff. Business account lets you do online business from your private webpage and other shopping website like ebay and such.

They verify your account just to make sure that your account is a real, and your a real person who they have a ID. When I started my business account they wanted my SS number and a pay slip with my employment number. This help keep scammer away who try to fraud people. The reason they do it is to make sure, they can find us in case we try to fraud a customer or scam people. I mean I would do the same, if I started a company who handled other peoples credit card number and stuff. I would want to make sure I passing on information to a real person who is credible and a real individual.

Hope it helped

I just got $20 randomly taken out of my PayPal account as "eBay seller fees and reimbursements" that I didn't approve of. Is this normal?

When you signed up for your eBay account, you may have chosen to pay your fees via automatic PayPal payment. This is a very convenient way to pay, and it’s the method I use. The amount you indicate seems about right for the sale you made.EBay’s final value fees vary somewhat by category and whether the sale is buy it now or auction. EBay charges its fees monthly rather than at the time of sale like Amazon does. Regardless of how you pay, you will owe final value fees on your eBay sales, calculated on the full price paid by the buyer, including shipping.

One PayPal with two eBay accounts. One eBay account was suspended with an overdue seller fee and now the other eBay account is also suspended. Can I get them back? Why is the second eBay account suspended?

I have over 10 years as an eBay powerseller. Everything was going fine until one day eBay suspended my account for no reason. I felt ripped off, and very sad - I have used eBay for so many years, and they just shut me out like that. This is when I started searching all over the web for reasons on why this happened to me. After months of thorough research, I finalized what I did wrong and how to get back on eBay. Your main mistake was that you used one PayPal account for two eBay accounts. Obviously there where linked and it was just a matter of time when one of them goes down, then both will be susepended. The most likely you won’t be able to reinstate both account and even if you will manage to get back at least one, I strongly suggest to not mix multiple accounts together. If you want to run multiple account then you need a solid solution.Pease visit our website for info on getting back on eBay with totally anonymous accounts called as eBay Stealth Accounts.http://online-seller-store.com
