Fell And Hit My Throat

Had a dream where I was shot in the throat?

In the dream I was walking along the prom. Then two men ran past me and I got interposed between them. One man tried to shoot the other, but instead the bullet hit me in the side of my throat. I fell and thought I was okay, but then I rolled over and all the blood gushed into my throat (contrary to belief that you cannot feel things in dreams, I distinctly remember that gushing feeling).

Next I remember trying to sit up, spitting out blood, and then trying to shout with the last of my energy 'it was him!' before lying down and waiting to die. I woke up before my actual death, but I lay there waiting for that shutting down/passing out feeling that told me was I about to die.

Any idea what this dream could mean?

Help! Throat injury...really scared =[?

Calm down, and don't worry!! You'll be fine! =)

Take some pain medication (Excedrin, Aspirin, etc.) and give your throat a rest (from to much talking, swallowing, etc.).

If your throat hurts more (after the meds) then take an icepack (wrapped in a thin towel or wash cloth) and hold it on the sore area.

If the pain gets worse the following day (in stead of reducing), then don't be afraid to call the local doctors office.

Like I said, it's most likely nothing serious, you have just ruffed up your skin a bit, and may have slight brusing.

Don't think about it so much =) Good Luck!

My dog hit his throat on the edge of a coffe table, should I be worried about internal bleeding?

I was playing with my dog when i decided to take a break. I set his toy on top of my coffee table. He ran over and without putting his legs or paws on the coffee table he jumped up to get it and hit his throat pretty hard at a fast force on the edge coffee table to get his toy. Should I be worried about internal bleeding or injuries?

Why can't I sing anymore after being hit in throat?

it sounds like you have experienced cartilage damage. Cartilage comprises the bony feeling structures that house the vocal mechanism. If these, or the ligaments tying them together have been damaged, the whole of the larynx( voice box) will not be able to produce an adequate musical sound.
An ENT ( Ear, Nose and Throat) doctor is what you need. Depending on his/her assessment of the damage, you may find yourself faced with structural repair ( an operation) as well as speech therapy ( talking lessons) which may or may not include some singing therapy as well. Please do some research here- you will want to find the best doctor in your area if you are interested in reconstructive surgery. I recommend that you start with looking up Dr. Robert Sataloff. He has written many volumes on care of the singer's voice ( as he is a fan of singers) and has spearheaded an integrative system of therapy. His standard staff includes not only the doctor, and nurses, but speech therapists and other vocal training equipment. I assume he will be somewhere on-line, but I also suspect he will be incredibly expensive. However, if you do the reading, it may give you some insight as to where to look next. You will find many of his books ( some of them in the medical library section) at your on-line bookstores.
I don't know what to tell you about the costs. If you are diagnosed as having suffered battering damage, will your insurance company cover it? Are there women's groups in your area that you can connect to, to see if anyone there has gone through this as well?
this is a serious situation, and you need to know as much as you possibly can.
I wish you whole heartedly a speedy recovery.

Why does my throat hurt after smoking?

It is usual among smokers and I will make it simple. Your body simply opposes the smoke. Your body presumes it is bad and want to cure it. The smoke irritates the throat tissues and therefore increases the mucus production. Smoke from tobacco has cancer-causing compounds called carcinogens that cause irritation. The toxins and chemicals in the second hand smoke increase your risk of getting throat cancer. Most throat cancers are caused by smoking. So inflammation and irritation is caused inside the layer of your wind pipe and throat pipe as nicotine and tar gets deposited. But when it comes to hurt, its because of your throat pipe. The Main reasons are1. Dry Throat 2. Development of cancer (Extremely time consuming)3. Smoking Clove mixed cigarettes. To stop hurting/burning of throat simply, 1. Have tea while you smoke.2. Drink plenty of water daily and especially after you smoke. This will help the throat to be hydrated and drinking after smoking will help all nicotine content to move to your stomach and gets purified by kidney.3. This will sound silly but helps better. Have a sweet/mint chocolate after you finish your cigar, then followed by water.

Why does the back of my throat feel irritated when I vape although I never set the wattage at more than 25w?

Not specifying what kit you have doesn’t help me much but overall it could be a number of things.Maybe back off on the Nic to start with, too much nic can irritate the throat as its basic taste is peppery. You may be allergic to the PG or the VG, or a particular element of the juice. Try max VG as its usually the PG affecting people.Five or six second hits is quite aggressive, I usually stick to between two to five depending on the device I’m on. Your tank getting hot may be due to the duration of your hits, and frequency. If you need to hit so hard for flavour satisfaction, maybe try another juice vendor that has more potent mix, diluting a juice down is common for many manufacturers to maximise profit. Next to water, PG & VG are the cheapest element of a juice, Nic is the highest. Also, think about going the DIY route, that way you fix your own strength. There are thousands of recipes online, for free.Tank warming is quite normal, but maybe think about a different drip-tip to pull your mouth away from the top of the tank and atty, awarding yourself a cooler experience. If you’re on a vape pen or starter kit, consider getting something more suited to a proper vaping experience.Lastly, join a vaping Forum, now.E Cigarette Forum, Vaping Underground Forum, or both.Happy vaping.

What happens if I get punched in the throat? What can I do?

Worst case scenario, your trachea will get fractured, leading to the incapacity to breathe, followed by severe hypoxia (oxygen deficiency). You will eventually enter hypoxic coma and probably die.Best case scenario, you will remain out of breath for a good number of seconds, enough to cause you a shock. You cannot do much once you get hit in the throat, because you won’t be able to react properly anymore. Best solution to an event like this is prevention. The neck area is very sensitive; a blow to it could easily lead to breathing incapacities or worse, as discussed above. As a piece of advice, I would encourage you to stay away from any conflicts, especially if you have little to no experience with self-defense techniques. Be healthy and stay safe!

If an ice cube was lodged in your throat, would you choke to death, or would the ice cube melt first?

My husband and I were dining at a cafeteria style restaurant several years ago when we heard a commotion across the room.Several people were gathered around a young girl who looked to be about 8 years old. The father was slapping her on the back violently as her horrified family and other diners looked on.She was blue in the face and suddenly fainted away.I had zero first aid training at the time but had seen the Heimlich Maneuver demonstrated on TV.I jumped out of my seat and grabbed the girl. She was dead weight. There was a bit of foam at the edge of her mouth.I did the Heimlich several times and nothing happened. On the 4th try, a huge square intact piece of ice flew out of her mouth and across the room. She gave out a shrieking cry and began gulping air and screaming. I delivered her to her mother who carried her off to the restroom with concerned restaurant staff and family at their heels. It happened SO FAST. I learned it does not take long to pass out from lack of air.The ice cubes in the drinks were ridiculous. Large, perfectly solid and square, and apparently, deadly.Would the ice have melted in time to save her life? I don't know, but that child was unconscious.UPDATE 4/23/18: I have learned from my doctor that a combination of back blows and Heimlich are recommended for a serious choking accident. Choking: First aid
