Fell On Knee Should I Worry About Internal Bleeding

What are the signs of sever internal bleeding?

Internal bleeding is the leaking of blood from blood vessels into spaces in the body. In fact, bruises are the result of capillary bleeding. Bruises occur in the skin and are not serious. However, deeper bleeding which involve arteries and veins can result in severe blood loss which can result in shock. Internal bleeding are caused by injuries cause by a violent blunt force such as being thrown against an object. They are also caused by a sharp objects (i.e., broken bone fragments) damaging internal organs and blood vessels. Rule of thumb: in any serious injury always suspect internal bleeding. Signs and symptoms of internal bleeding are less obvious than that of external bleeding. In fact, an injured person may appear "normal" at first. However, the following will help you recognize internal bleeding:

Soft tissues, such as in the abdomen, are tender, swollen or hard. An enlarged, rigid abdomen, for example, is a good sign of internal bleeding.
Anxiety or restlessness.
Rapid, weak pulse.
Rapid breathing, shortness of breath (with no other respiratory problems present).
Skin that is cool, moist or looks pale, ashen or bluish.
Nausea or vomiting. Vomiting blood.
Bruising in the injured area (bruising may indicate deeper damage)
Abdominal pain.
Excessive thirst
Decreased level of consciousness
A severe headache.
Care for internal bleeding depends on the severity and site of the bleeding. In the absence of medical care, there is little you can do little to control serious internal bleeding. The best you can do is to help the victim be as comfortable as possible such as putting him/her in the most comfortable position. Keep him/her from getting chilled or overheated. Provide reassurance.

BUT IF YOUR CONCERNED, GO TO THE DOC IMMEDIATELY! IF I WAS IN YOUR POSITION, I WOULD BE BACK AT THE HOSPITAL ASAP.

HOPE I HELPED, GOOD LUCK!!

What should I do if a wart won't stop bleeding?

First, don't worry, you won't bleed out. Get yourself a piece of gauze or folded paper towel, and apply it to the bleeding wart, now apply pressure to it, and hold for five minutes, yes five minutes and no peeking. If you peek, you need to start over again. It takes continued pressure to stop bleeding.Once the bleeding has stopped, apply a bandaid to protect it. Just so you know, the wart will grow back, and this time, don't try removing yourself. Instead, go see a doctor, or use Compound W wart remover, it does work.Best of luck, and remember, no peeking.

Fell now knee cap is purple?

I fell last night on pavement. It was painful. I woke in the middle of the night with bad pain on my left knee cap.(it was worse than earlier) This morning I woke up and found a bruise on a part of my knee cap. There are red dots around it also, not like a scrape.I tried icing it and elevating it. It's painful to walk and I can't straighten it all the way. If i do it feels like my knee will give out.

Is internal bleeding bad for you?

Yes, it is very bad for you.

If left untreated your arm could fall off. The uncirculating-blood will turn into hydrosulfuritic acid and slowly eat away at the connective tissue in your arm. This could result in your arm falling off of your body. The only way to fix it then is for a doctor to bandage it back on and it is a very painful procedure.

I knew a guy that I used to work with that had a neck injury and he had internal bleeding. He didn't think anything of it and one day he came in and his head fell off. We had to rush him to the 24 hour clinic and had to have the nurse bandage it back on. He survived but he was terribly lucky that time.

Why is my open cut/wound not bleeding?

Not only being in police work I am also a paramedic which is required for my position, although I do not practice as a paramedic. There are many open wounds which don't bleed for various reasons. Cuts/wounds may not bleed because they were caused by a very sharp instrument and this causes the small vessels to clamp shut on their own which stops bleeding. There are many types of open wounds including gunshots where you can see an open wound where the projectile goes in and because of the force and heat it instantly closes off the blood vessels. However, an open wound under these circumstances are most likely bleeding on the inside of the body into the abdominal or chest cavity and is a very serious wound and is life threatening.  You can "bleed out" internally with no or very little blood oozing from the entry point.A lot of amputations such as having a leg or arm severed do not bleed on the outside and are bleeding substantially on the inside and are life threatening. Just because you don't see blood oozing from a cut or wound does not mean it is not life threatening.

I scraped my knee, and now there's yellowish fluid/a hard orange covering? Help!?

So I was playing street hockey at Summer P.E. the other day (it's for credits, so I can take an elective next year), when a kid pushed me and I fell onto my left knee. Immediately there was some torn skin and it was bleeding a bit, with some edges brownish-black like a scab color, but all it did was sting. I washed it out with water after about 15 minutes (lunch time) and about three hours later, I finally got hand of a large band-aid and put it on. I took a shower when I got home and then put Neosporin on it, as well as another bandaid.
When I tried to take the band-aid off, the white pad was a light yellow color, and it was sticky, and I think it peeled off part of the soft scab/dead cells? It revealed pink skin, that was deeper than the surrounding dead skin. It was extremely sticky, but I just put more Neosporin on and changed the bandaid. The next day, the same thing happened, but after reading that I should let it air, I went to sleep without the band-aid, and when I woke up this morning, it was covered in orangey-yellow fluid, but it was HARD. Like tree sap. So I just got a Q-tip to clean it off, but it still wouldn't come off, and now I'm here.

Is it infected? Or is this part of the healing process? I have never gotten a scrape before, to be honest :P Please help!

Clear liquid draining from a cut on my knee?

I fell off my bicycle yesterday and scraped up my knees pretty badly. They stopped bleeding for the most part but now they just drip this clear liquid.
I got road rash on one knee, and the other basically has no skin on it anymore lol. the liquid coming from it is clear and sorta slimey.. i think.
My dad said it's plasma rushing to the wound to heal it and stuff, anyone have any feedback on this theory?

oh also, i'm going to six flags tomorrow and i;m not sure how i should bandage em up. It's going to be hot so i really want to wear shorts but i dont wanna be sporting giant gauze bandages lol. I wish they would scab over and i could just go all scabby kneed lol, but ya. any thoughts? should i just wear a gauze badage and some pants, or is it ok to where a normal latex-y bandage, or does it need fresh air and stuff to heal up?

ahhhhhh, haha, please and thank you <3

Knee scab hurt really bad?

You should be okay hun though it wouldn't hurt to pour a little hydrogen-peroxide on it and then put some antibiotic cream on your injured knee. Hydrogen-peroxide and antibiotic cream will kill any germs that might have gotten into the wound as well as help prevent infections. Keep the wound clean and covered, and it should heal nicely. If the skin around your scab starts to turn red and feel really warm to the touch go see your doctor chances are you might have an infection. I hope your knee feels better hun and best of luck :D

I scraped my knee and i seen my white meat...what do i do?

go 2 the d0ctors & fast be4 it gets irritated!!!(infected)
well that is if it is a big cut or a small scrap
