Fellow Glory Hunters Don

What do you do if someone calls you a glory hunter?

(1) Ignore it cuz u know its not true and no matter what they say, you know deep down the team you support and your reasons for supporting them?

(2) Get angry with the person, use a national tragedy like the Haiti Disaster to take a dig at someone.

Yesterday i witnessed a user attack another user for being a fellow Caribbean neighbour and instead of helping haiti, he came to attack him on YA.

Seriously? How do you not know he helped? In fact you should not even be mentioning this.

The guy called you a glory hunter and you insult him using a tragedy where countless lives were lost to insult him. You arent any better than the heartless ppl who make fun of the munich disaster or Hillsborough.

Geez even i feel dirty for mentioning that.

Sorry for the rant guys.
Here answer this :

Arsenal vs Chelsea Predictions?

Why are Manchester United fans called glory hunters?

Because the majority of them have no link to Manchester at all, and only crawled out of the woodwork when they became successful.

I have actually had to direct ManUre fans to Old Trafford when there to see my team, if not even knowing where your teams a ground is doesn't make you a glory hunter then I don't know what does (the worst thing is that most of them only wanted to go there to have pictures taken, they didn't even have tickets).

Who should i go for, newcastle united or wigan?

I would say that you wait till next season's Premier League. Newcastle United are now in the Championship, but will be promoted next season, and hopefully Wigan will stay up.

After that, watch the match between Wigan and Newcastle United and then you'll feel and instinctive desire to support only of them.....
Choose what your heart says...

What is the reason Liverpool FC has such an enormous fandom in India, even though it's glory days are far over?

Because Liverpool FC and India have a lot of similarities:A Glorious pastDecades of Under-performing and failing to fulfil potentialA contempt for the BritishElevating people who love us & perform well to a Demi-god status. (Shankly, Fowler, Sachin...etc)We were fucked by two Whiskey-noses - Alex Ferguson & Winston ChurchillAnd at the last, Faith. Liverpool fans and Indians have kept their faith even after a lot of false dawns. We have walked on with hope in our hearts.I have always felt that the core values of both India and Liverpool FC are very similar. Ever since I started watching football Liverpool was The club for me. I could never see myself supporting any other club even in my dreams. Another personal reason is my life I don't need a club which wins every week to fill the emptiness in life (Read. Glory-hunting Man-utd & Chelsea fans). To support Liverpool you need courage and grit. I will always be a Liverpool fan.

Why does indian football fans support other Leagues rather its own country teams?

QualityThe best players in the world , in the best stadiums with the best atmosphere and playing the best football.  By not supporting and watching them , one is missing out on a lot of quality. The level of football played in India is unfortunately pretty low. Hoofing the ball up to a bulky striker and hopeful 35 yard shots are nowhere near the aesthetic pleasure that a slick Messi-Iniesta one-two or a mazy Coutinho dribble provide.CoverageA lot is down to the coverage too.  The Barclays Premier League , La Liga , Seria A are covered much more effectively than the I-league.  And , obviously , people support what they see.  Maybe times are changing with the introduction of ISL but still it can't be compared to the major European leagues. Not A ChoiceMore often than not , you don't CHOOSE to support a team.  Its just connects .  I'm a huge Liverpool fan and i didn't know much about them when I started supporting them.  Right from the start it just sort of captured my imagination , as happens with many people.  Could've happened with a McDowalls Mohan Bagan or Dempo S.C. , but again , coverage, played a huge part.BudgetThe total market value of EPL is a whopping £2.86bn !!.The transfer spend of EPL clubs this summer was a mindblowing £826,392,000. Compare them to the modest ISL and I-league budgets and it gives you a clear idea of the gulf between these leagues. Not Just IndiaAlso , this isn't something exclusive to India.  European Leagues are supported throughout the world.  Africa , middle east , Americas , East Asia , Australia .  Huge supporters are spread throughout the world.  I have a friend , a fellow Liverpool fan , who supports them from Alaska !Ask yourself , do you watch "Sasural Simar"  ka or " Suits" ? "Friends" or "Fauji...The iron man " ? Game of Thrones or Godh Bharai ?People prefer quality , which they get in the form of European leagues . This is more of a case of pleasure than patriotism.

Why do people hate Manchester United?

As I've always said when this question comes up....people only hate Man Utd due to huge success they have had under Fergie.

I want to help humanity to progress and I want to fight for something much bigger than me, what should I do?

There are many good problems other people have laid out here. But, here is my 2 cents on how you work on big problems:I will say that “small” things matter; especially over long periods of time. People think they have to be freakin’ Martin Luther King - influencing millions - or their effort does not make a difference. That’s not true.Put another way: we live in a world were we are used to seeing YouTube videos with 100 million views, while our videos only get 4,000 views, leading people to doubt their contents’ impact. In fact: 4,000 people is still a lot of people. Small impacts still matter. I have found (even if your impact is small) if you just keep at it your impact will snowball and grow. Here is what I would do in your shoes:Pick a problem. There are many you can choose from: poverty, war, climate change, sex trafficking, domestic abuse, drug abuse….Learn all about it. Often, there has been solutions lying around for decades — but we are not doing it because it costs too much, or is politically inconvenient, or messes up a business model, or we don’t care, or.. blah, blah, blah…Then educate people. Most problems in the world today are due to the collective actions of millions of people. Where we all don’t do something, or we all do do something and the collective impact hurts the human race. It’s no one persons fault; but it is all our problem. You can educate people with books, talks, videos, plays, symbolic acts, ect… Your goal: get massive numbers of people to change their behavior.Utilize a mentor. And, I don’t mean following someone whose been dead for hundreds of years, or some figurehead like the president. Pick a mentor you know; like your HS friend who started a business or your neighbor who volunteers. Pick a mentor who is living in your place and time, and who gets you.Find other people also trying to help. After some time trying to help, you will find others actively working on your problem. Connect with them, organize with them, your better as a group. As a group you can move more people.Keep at it. Just keep at it. Life happens: you change jobs, your family member gets ill, you have to move - whatever — just keep at it. You will change things. This is what leaders do; and I am pretty sure it is how most major problems (racism, sexism, suffrage, environmentalism, imperialism) have been worked on in the past.Good luck!
