Film And Comic Con Costume Help

What do you do at comic con?

So my dad recently asked me if I wanted to go to a comc con convention with him. I've heard about comic con and I know it's a kind of meet and greet thing, but I never exactly knew what you do there. At this comic con there's gonna be the cast of the new justice league movie! Ezra Miller and Gal GADOT are going to be there and it seems really cool and I want to go, but it's just... what EXACTLY do you do there?

Need costume idead for comic con for my friend and I.?

Comic Con Costume ideas? Blonde female?

I’m looking for Comic Con cosplay ideas. Anyone know any GIRL characters from pop-culture that I can dress up as that are cool and not too geeky? I went as Babydoll from Sucker Punch last year and as a female version of Alex DeLarge the year before. I’ve already thought of going as a female Thor since I’m blonde and I’ve had the option of Sailor Moon (but they’re both so over played that I want original ideas!!) (I’m not into other anime btw) I’ve also thought about going as Tauriel but it’d be very expensive to buy the costume so I’d have to make it myself. If anyone has a pattern I can use for it, I’d greatly appreciate it! If you have couples ideas please let me know as well!

What is comic con?

Comic Con is the catch-all term for any conventions where comics and all associated major media are promoted and sold by studios and publishers to a general audience.

There are Comic Cons across the U.S. at different times of the year. The San Diego Comic Con is the largest and most popular because film studios heavily promote their upcoming films by having the cast appear to meet with fans and show exclusive footage and trailers.

You can buy many items at a comic con: shirts, toys, comics, manga, artwork, overpriced food. You can also meet actors from popular TV series/films, as well as comic writers and artists, although the lines can be too long.

Attendees usually wear regular clothing. However, some people will cosplay as their favorite character.

In certain booths at the main show floor, you can find Japanese manga at a sometimes discounted price.

How was your experience of Mumbai Comic Con 2013?

Well, I should start from my own experience....The first thought I had when I entered Mumbai Film and Comic Con Festival, India was this .....I must have been living under a rock.Never knew comic industry has such wide array of creative and passionate people. I have went through Raj and Diamond comics, sometimes Manoj Pocket books/comics during my teenage but the kind of marketing reach, merchandise and packaging I am seeing now, puts me in the league of THE lost generation. — at Mumbai Film & Comics Convention 2013!Yes..It was fun....But apart from that it was a great melange of creative and passionate people who came to one place to showcase their creative works.I also got delighted with the fact that Indian comics (or Graphic Novel, still difficult for me to differentiate) is venturing into untapped territory and refraining themselves from getting lured to another costume-laced Blah-blah-Man comics or succumbing to another inane joke of turban-clad white-mustachioed North Indian uncle! Look at these comic-book titles from Holy Cow;Vivek Goel, one of the artists behind the brilliant Aghori comic book.Pic courtesy: RavanayanRavanayan, another bold comic series exploring the other side of Ramayana.HOLY COW!!!That's some illustration!Moving ahead..It seemed like a wonderland.Nobody is going to taunt you for what you are wearing.Met few people dressed as comic characters,No points for guessing that;)And Kids....Oh My God...For a moment,I forgot I wasn't one!Look at that priceless expression!Oh! there was HULK too!But what i really liked was meeting real people and feeling fragrance of pages from comics i used to read in my childhood...Yes that's a lame comic book full of farcical situations and inept jokes but who cares??Got to meet and attend few film promotions as well....Got a chance to meet few celebrities as well, sort of...Well..you know him..don't you??that's Baaaad Man, Gulshan Grover.....You will earn an Upvote for recognizing this old chap (yes, that's Vivek Goel in background,I ignored him totally,i confess)Some more moments and creativity captured... All in all...It was a delight to be there.A perfect escapade from daily chores of life!!Am I going to visit it next time?Yes!Certainly. And I have already thought what my disguise would be?:)

How do i make the leeloo costume with the bandages from the fifth element movie?

Part of the fun of Comic-con and Cosplay is making your own costume, because everyone is so much more impressed and you feel terrific. Both of Leeloo’s costumes can be made at a relatively low cost and trouble, depending on your resources and skills. However, most people prefer to purchase the suspenders at one of the above options, because they are so detailed and hard to make.

The bandage costume can be made simply using any white fabric, although you should use something that has some stretch and will hold tight against your skin. You might even want to use a bit of body glue for extra assurance. There are many good pictures of Leeloo and people in reproduction costumes online so you can use these as a model to re-create the costume yourself. If you can’t find an orange wig, you can dye a blond wig using Manic Panic or other strong punk dyes.

Be prepared to wow!

Could I dress as a video game character to London Film and Comic Con?

Have you ever heard the phrase “you can be anything you want to”? As a regular convention-goer, I can confirm that that’s exactly how cosplaying at conventions works.Chances are you’ll see tons of people dressed as every video game character imaginable. Everyone from Ezio to Mario is going to be there. You’ll probably even run into another Ellie or two.Maybe you’ll even come across a herd of dinosaurs:Better yet, lightsaber-dueling dinosaurs (being watched by a curious Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat):Anything can happen at these things.

What are good shoes for an Arwen costume?

Are you using your own garb/creation or a costume? I used beaded jutti/khussa slippers with mine (couldn't find boots that didn't look contemporary). They're very reasonable and come in just about any colour. Lots on eBay and search jutti or khussa....

http://www.alleycatscratch.com/lotr/Elf/... Site run by Hollywood costumers to help we who aren't do garb as close to film quality as we can....on any budget. People post pics of what they've done, and some are amazing for do-it-yourselfers. Lots of ideas.

Would I be shunned at Comic-Con to dress as a video game character?

Once upon a time I used to go to ACEN, aka Anime Central. In their guidelines for costumes they stated that people should aim specifically for anime-related characters and not, say, characters from Star Wars.Guess how many people actually attending the con gave a damn?Guess how many security people tried to remove the small group of Stormtroopers who were going about enjoying the con?The answer to both those questions is zero. The Emperor’s finest were welcome with open arms and celebrated as one of the most popular groups to have a photo with. Cosplay is fairly inclusive almost regardless of the theme of a con, and a good costume is a good costume. You’ll be fine.
