I was recently widowed, and I can tell you that your whole world perspective changes when that happens. The "object" of your desire disappears, and suddenly you see life completely differently. In a way, for me, I now have a closer personal relationship to God the infinite source of love by not focusing on this physical plane. Many people go through their entire lives lost and insecure, even if they don't acknowledge it. It is sometimes only death that releases us from the bondage of our egos. Sometimes it's someone close to us that dies, sometimes we are not free until our own body dies. When I first heard this song, my first thought was that it was a suicide note. But after seeing the video, I now think that it's morning the loss of a loved one who died. Or perhaps he's morning the loss of his ego because he's fallen in love and has now found God in a woman's love. I'm sure there's a hundred more ways to interpret it.
