Finley For A Boy Or Girl

Do you like the name Finley for a girl?

I just heard the name Finley for a little girl the other day and LOVED it! Her name was Finley Grace. Most of the time I am against the use of (many) boys names on girls. But I found this to be too adorable and seems to me like it could weather well with age.

We are not expecting but thinking of trying for another (our 3rd) little guy or gal soon. We have 2 sons, Brody William who is 2 1/2 and Riley James (3 months). We always talk about names if we would have our third. I was sooo set on the name Harper Rose if I had a daughter. Now I am seriously considering Finley.

What do you think? Do you like the name Finley for a little girl?
Finley Rose, Finley Mae, Finley Grace (a totally feminine middle name seems to balance it out nice)

Your thoughts?

Middle name for Finley (girl)?

Finley Claire is precious

Middle name for Finley (a boy)?

Finley Lucas

I love the name Robin, but I'm not keen on the rest of the girl name.

Middle name for Finley (boy)?

We have finally come to an agreement with the baby boy name Finley (Finn for short) but we are having trouble with the middle name. We like semi-unique names and have thought about using Micah, Lucas, and Hudson...

Finley Hudson is my favorite, but upon closer inspection, we discovered that's way too GLEE! Bummer.

We have also considered making Finley his middle name and using a different first name and still calling him Finn.

Suggestions?

Girls name or boys name?
Love it or hate it?

I know a little boy named Finley, he is in my daughter's preschool class, and he goes by Finn. I also know a baby girl named Finley who goes to our church. So I was just wondering what do you think of it?

Finley, Finleigh or Finlee?

I am thinking, fingers crossed (hoping) we are preggy again. My little guy told me he wanted a baby sister named Finley and since those little words rolled off of my three year old's tongue, I have been in love. I have two beautiful boys, Brody William and Riley James. Riley's name used more for girls now-a-days.... so I know all about the boys vs girls name wars. Riley is a family name honoring a very much loved and missed part of my life, my grandmother. ( Her maiden name was Riley) .

Now, I know Finley is a boys name, But as I said, I am in love with it and if preggy will use it for either or. We have pretty much chosen Finley Jonathan (after my dad), Finley Michael (after my brother) or Finley Joseph (after hubby). Brody also shares part of my husbands name.

I am stumped on how to spell Finley if a girl? I like the traditional spelling, my mom says Finleigh is better. Rose will be the middle name after my mother. What do you think? Which boys combo do you like? And which spelling for a girl?

Thanks ya all.

What do you think of the girls' names Finley and Arlington?

Recently, I met a 7-year-old girl named Arlington and her 5-year-old sister named Finley. They also have a younger brother with another Texas name, but I can't remember what it was. I think Finley's kind of cute, but I'd definitely never actually use it. As for Arlington, it sounds a bit more masculine than feminine IMO, though I wouldn't even use it on a boy.

What do you think?

Little girls name : Harper, Fallon, Finley, Nellie, Chesney, or Charleigh?

Harper, I've always thought this was such a cute name!!

Fallon, I've heard this a lot lately and really don't like it. Probably because I know a jerk named Tallon. I don't know, I've just never really liked it, looks to masculine in my opinion.

Finley, Sounds like a boy's name. I think I like Fallon more than this.

Nellie, that is cute, but I have this thing where I think it is stupid to put a name that looks like a nickname on the birth certificate. Do you think you could name her something that you could use Nellie as a nickname? Or you could just name her anything but call her Nellie...Some names that have Nellie as a nickname are Ellen, Eleanor, Penelope, Eliane/a, Elisa

Chesney, well I have to admit I instantly thought of Kenny. But that aside I just don't like it, it sounds like a guys name, but, even for a guy I wouldn't name him that. If your Hubby just can't part with this name then use it as a middle name if you must, but please, not as a first name. In the end your Hubby could always just have his name for your daughter and have it Chesney. Like you don't even have to use Chesney in her name, it could just be a nickname!! That would be really cute! I think it is a really cute nickname, but not a name.

Charleigh, I love this one! It's cute! It's Charlie but a more feminine spelling!! But the only thing I don't like is it's going to sound as though you have three boys if you just tell people their names, Brody, Riley, and Charleigh. Could you name her Charlotte "Charleigh"?? You don't even have to call her Charlotte, you could always call her Charleigh, but maybe she'll grow up and be more feminine and not like having such a "guys name" and want to use something more feminine like Charlotte.

Favorite name combos:

Charlotte "Charleigh" Harper
Harper Ellen "Nellie" Chesney

The one that sounds the best with your two son's names:

Brody, Riley, and Harper
Charlotte "Charleigh", Brody, and Riley

I think Harper sounds the best with your two son's names.
