Fired Before Finishing Training

Will you get fired for not finishing online training?

This is my second day of training, and it's all online and there's different parts I have to complete and there's due dates to have it finished by. It's so much things to learn and go through, I have 2 parts left that I won't be able to finish in time..I can't work on this at home. Will they fire me if I don't finish by the due date?

Do Spring training standings actually mean anything?

no. the Cubs were 15-17 after Spring Training last year. but went on to win 90 games, finishing in third place, clinching the wild card, and advanced to the NLCS.

on mlb.com, you can look at spring training records for the past couple years or more, and then compare to the regular season to see if it resembles anything.

it's more about individual performances though in spring training, as until the last couple days or so, they always have a lot of minor league guys come in the later innings to get some work in and see if they can make an impact.

I went AWOL from basic training how do i get discharged wthout going back.?

I am a retired USAF Officer. Once you go AWOL you are a wanted man and being looked for by the US Marshall's Office, not the Army. You apply for work and state that you never were in the military or have an honorable discharge. When they do a background check and discover you lied, you will be fired. You cannot try and get a state or federal job because they do a background check. If you apply for credit, you will show up as being a fugative. A background check includes a check to see if you are wanted by any state or feds

You were an adult when you signed up. You are still an adult. Do something right once in your life. Stop the drugs. Go to the nearest military fort, base or whatever you can find. Turn yourself in. Take whatever punishment they give you. You still have the right for a lawyer and the military will provide one for you at no cost. You may still have to serve your enlistment obligation. You could be discharged with an Honorable, Less than Honorable, Administrative, Bad Conduct, or Dishonorable Discharge. Some make it almost impossible to get a real job. To get those you have to have a Courts Martial. The first two are paper work discharges. Article 15 is non judical punishment. I don't know what it is called in the Army but in the Air Force there is a 39-12 discharge is an Administrative Discharge under Less then Honorable Conditions. You will be out in as little as a week.

The only thing I will add is I think the two Sgt's who answered above me were a little soft on what I would do if I was your commander. Especially if you came back and tested positive for drugs. And you will be tested. Stay at home and be arrested for possible desertion. Go back to the Army and do what is right. Hope your Commander is softer than I would be under either way back. If you are clean when you return you would have a better chance with me.

I want to quit-but might get fired!?

Lately ( last 3 months) I've been getting panic attacks when at work( call center for verizon wireless). They've been escalating to the point where I feel i cant breath. I'm not a quitter, and this is my second job in my work history, which i've been loyal and met expectation and above for last 2 yrs 5 months. I've tried filing FMLA (family medical leave act) however, it was denied bc i've worked a total of 1194 hrs in last 12 months and they require 1250 hrs. I started full time in Sept 2007 but went back to school full time, therefore lowering my work hours to 20hrs/week. I spoke to a HR rep in my company, he said maybe we could do a work place arrangement. I filled out the paper work. My psychologist has signed documentation asking that because of my depression and anxiety to be allowed to be off work max of 2 times per week ranging between 2-8 hrs, this time of course will be unpaid. Its going to be 2 weeks, regardless my constant emails, there is no response.

I am on final warnings for using 29 hours of sick time , all non payed. Full time employees receive 40 paid sick hours. i used my 29 hours due to an accident (which i also have documentation) that left me with stitches on my lip, therefore i couldn't speak clearly.i'm a customer service rep for VZW call center in utah. This job deals with high stress not only from clients but specially from the company. I want out. I've spoken with a supervisor that will provide truthful feedback about my work in case i need a reference.

I had an anxiety attack on wednesday, i only worked 2 hours bc i was left very weak from it. I asked to use my vacation/personal hours, it was declined. Since i am on the final warning, the next step is them firing me.

what recommendation do any of you have?

I'm not doing this intentionally. I've been told by a couple of coworkers to get fired and get unemployment bc of my illness. I rather not do so, do not want to damage my record. I've also been told that in Utah, if you are a full time student you may be eligible for unemployment aid if you do quit.

I am a student, about 2 years away from finishing my undergraduate, i pay my own tuition and few bills, I obviously need some sort of income at least till this semester is over and can commit to the full time training to get a stable job.

Please any informational input on this matter would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

What are the biggest mistakes people make when firing a gun without having done any training?

My response is based on my observations over several years at two firing ranges I visit periodically : a full facilities club to which I belong, and an indoors shooting range which allows for High Power Ammonition to be fired but limits the type of weapon allowed in the premises. In no particular order this is what I have observed:Attempting to clean / dislodge material or a stuck cartridge from the firearm barrel WHILE AT THE FIRING LINE of their assigned cubicle or assigned shooting stage.Removing and walking AWAY from the FIRING LINE with a PRIMA FACIE ACTIVE FIREARM in their hands — this refers to people holding a pistol or rifle with a closed/locked breech and/or a revolver with its cylinder in the closed (active) position. I’ve seen people enganging in conversation, walking to another firing stage or cubicle with a firearm in such condition — which is strictly forbidden and penalized in both the Gun Club and the Indoor range I attend — until personnel of the facility or another user calls it to their attention or requires them to stop.Trying to repair / correct a malfunction while at the FIRING LINE or at their work table on a weapon which has not been unloaded and has not its breech locked secure in an open positionOpening their eyes as they move away from the FIRING LINE after finishing a shot or a cycle of shots. Although I cannot be certain this leads me to believe they were shooting with closed eyes, or at least were closing them as they engaged the action of the firearmTurning around, right after executing a shot, while still holding the firearm in their hands to talk to other individuals. Most of these actions were done by “weekenders” or people learning the ropes. There has been sometime since I witness any of this behaivor however, probably beacuse of my decision to not go to the range on weekends. Also I stick to the High Power section of the club were rarely you see people learning the sport, or to the center cublicles of the indoor range which are disliked by newbbies (they tend to favor cubicles on the outer edges)I have no issue and no ill will against them : we all were beginners at various points in our lives or were just out to exprience a new activity.Yet the fact is, the artifacts people manipulate at a gun shooting facility are lethal. Period.

I had signed an employment bond for certain years, but now I wish to leave the company. What is the best way of dealing with this situation?

Although I am not a legal expert, a lawyer would better answer your question, but I can answer this on the basis of my knowledge. As per Contract act in India, such bonds are not enforceable, since they are considered in restraint of trade. In the past, many employees have violated such bonds and in such cases, companies have resorted to different means:Allow the employee to go, take no action - In this situation, you lose nothing, the company will discharge you.Allow the employee to go, hold his Salary - In this situation, they will not pay your full and final settlement salary. Probably you will lose gratuity, leave encashments etc. and your unpaid salary.Restrict the employee from going, sue the employee - In this case, the company will go to the court. It will be a very lengthy procedure. According to the past cases, the company will have to prove that due to your layoff, the company is bearing direct costs. Further, the courts would rule in favour of a company only if the terms and conditions mentioned in the agreement are reasonable. Having a penalty clause in the agreement makes it unenforceable since it is not a reasonable term. So generally the company will be able to recover training costs only. This option is exercised only when the employee is very highly resourceful or employee is at a high ranked position.Recommendation:In maximum cases, Option B takes place. So you need to plan your exit smartly so that your salary cannot be withheld by your employer. However, you are at risks only if you are positioned at a very unique post and there is no replacement for you in the market or maybe if your services are highly important for the company projects and without you they will not be able to continue the projects. Then the company will never sue you since the legal costs are too high to keep spending it on every employee who leaves. If you think your post can be replaced easily, the best thing is you may try writing an email to the company, mentioning a notice period and ask them to permit layoff. Mutual understanding is the best way to solve problems. One problem will be that, it will be difficult to get experience letter and employment relieved letter which is actually asked for by various companies, when you join them, as a documentary evidence.
