Flash Animation/ Drawing On All In One Computer

Is most anime shows hand drawn or computer?

yes i know manga is hand drawn.
but anime takes a lot more drawings...so i wanted to know if they were all hand drawn.

i personally dont know how to use computer art yet, im just looking into the uses of it.

How long does it take to create 30 minute flash animation?

Well, my computer teacher said that about 3,500 slides or a little more (I can't remember the exact number he said) is around 5 minutes, so 21,000 slides or a little more is around 30 minutes. If you did 500 slides a day you could get it done (without the voice acting, background music, and special FX) in 42 days, and if you did 1000 slides a day you could get it done in 21 days. I don't know how many more days it would take to do the voice acting, background music, and special FX, but I don't think it would take much longer if you have 5 other people helping you. My friend and I are doing a 30 minute flash over the summer for our computer teacher which we would give to him at the beginning of the next school year, but its only 2 people working on it, so it would take us longer to finish it than it would for your group.

How can you tell a flash animation from a hand drawn animation?

You can usually tell by the coloring; Flash animations tend to be brighter while hand drawn is a little bit more diluted. You can also look at the lining of the characters. Flash drawn animations tend to have an thicker outline compared to people who use hand drawn as well as frame by frame, or point by point. Here are some examples but none of these are definent which means any one of these could be made with any software or even hand drawn. My Little Pony is FlashThe Croods is made with Toon BoomHand drawn

Is it possible to combine traditional hand-drawn animation and Flash animation?

Sure! All that you need to do is to find a way to vectorize your drawings once you scan them, even flash itself has tools to do that, once a drawing is scanned is just a matter of clicking live trace (or the other trace option that I forget) and letting the computer work.Vectorizing your lineart may make it look more artificial, but with some clean up you can surely make it work. You can also draw directly in flash if you have a wacom. To be honest, you can even use Photoshop to paint and clean your animation, if you are familiar with it, you may even get better results.

Is frame by frame animation harder than puppet/flash animation?

It depends on your skill set. Frame by frame to me is easier, faster and preferred, but I’ve been drawing and animating for years but that’s when i animate for games rather than cartooning…If you consider how long it takes to properly set up a full rig per character within an animation and the limitations of being bound to the quality of the rig which also depends on how much experience you have at building them and using them then it can be a little harder to grasp at first but in the long run, the puppet style animation will save a lot of time and becomes more technical with real limitations in what you can achieve with the style. Many people prefer it because they cannot draw very well and with a well constructed puppet rig, you don’t have to be able to in order to create a good looking animation… Another reason would have nothing to do with their artistic ability but more to save time when creating an animated scene over a series of episodic releases for something like a cartoon. Both styles of animation have their real pros and cons but whether one is harder than the other will depend on your personal skills and experience. The context of “for games” or “for cartoons” would also differ the response a little, if for games then the frame by frame trumps the other in my opinion, almost every time, if for cartoons then frame by frame will become tedious and if you invest in learning how to construct a great character rig, then the puppet animation style will work better and become easier over time. The most important part with that style of animation is the rig. Plan and prepare it properly and things will flow smoothly and not be very hard to animate with. I think that is the hardest part when considering the puppet style animation because many who are not very experienced cannot foresee the problems they may face and have to trial and error their rigs as they go or study and practice, where many seem to go with the trial and error process and run into the problems facing the style with amateur quality animations as a result of a poorly constructed rig.Ask yourself what context you’ll be trying to animate in and then revisit the type of animation you’d like to get started with again as the answer differs based on that.

How can I learn Flash animation?

Do you mean Flash animation or Flash programming? If it’s programming, then Harsh Kumar’s answer has pretty much nailed it — you need to develop a passion towards it, start out with small steps and follow simple tutorials, and later on experiment and develop something you’re interested in.As for animation, that really comes down to how well you’re versed in drawing, know about animation techniques, and how much patience you have. Animating is really easy because all you have to do, is draw one frame first, then the second, then the third, and so on until it becomes an animation. However, the quality of the animation will need lots of practice. If you want to make good animations, you need to watch cartoons and animes (I strongly recommend anime because their animation level is tenfolds better), and try and keep an eye open and observe how they’ve animated different sequences and characters flows/animations. Press pause and analyze the animations frame-by-frame to get a better feel and understand how it’s been achieved.Practice drawing all the time whether it’s on paper or on computer, because animation really is just a sequence of drawings, so your drawing skills are important. From there, experiment with different small animation sequences in Flash, and stick with what you like. This takes time, patience, and above all, PASSION.If you follow these steps and observe animations done by others all the time, then you’ll slowly start becoming a better animator and develop your skills after time.———————————————————————————-As for actually knowing how to animate in Flash, well, there are frames in your timeline. Just start on the first frame, draw something using the pen or brush tool. Also color it if you want to. Once you’re satisfied, make a new keyframe by either pressing F7 (blank new keyframe) or F6 (duplicate current keyframe), and draw a new picture. Continue this process and playback your animation by either hitting Enter (quick playback), or CTRL+Enter (for full preview with loop).Pro Tip: Enable onion skin on your timeline (just google it and you’ll quickly find out how to turn it on) to be able to view your previous keyframe(s) as transparent (so it’s easier to draw the new frame with a reference to the previous one).Hope this helps :)

How long would it take to create a 2D animation of around 20 minutes? It is an adaptation of a story, and all of it is done alone, except for the voices.

It really depends on many parameters: 1. Do you have a script already? ( you should start with that and it might take some time if you are new to it)2. Then storyboard (could be just sketches, but don’t try to skip this step, it will give your story structure and help to organize the process)3. Voiceover next (Record it line by line and you will know exactly how long your animation will be)4. Selecting other audio and special effects also will take some time.5. Finding visuals and animating themthe type of animation and the tool that you will choose to animate also impact the total time.I suggest to try Animatron - it’s easy to use, online app, so you save time on installation, it has lite mode for faster animation and toons of free content and it is free if you don’t mind watermark , you also may Import video ( and save time on animation) Here are some tool screenshots:Lite mode for storytelling,And here is Expert mode for actual animation:Good luck!

How can I make animated movies without drawing talent?

Animation is first and foremost an artform about observation and hard work. The creation happens when the animated subject comes to life on the screen. Anima in latin means soul, and in order for any person to become a true animator, he/she has to first observe the slightest detail in the motion of an object or phenomena and give life through the tools at their disposal. Sometimes it will take a huge amount of work to make that happen and look natural. With time and experience, it will happen faster and easier. Nowadays there are so many tools, tutorials and courses from which you can learn and its really up to you if you want to accept the challenge. You might think that you can’t draw, or don’t have enough talent, but you’ll have to learn to work hard and then the results will start happening.I know many good animators that can’t draw very well, but find other ways of expressing themselves, as many of the previous answers have pointed out.Good luck!

How to create a 2d animation ?

Depending on the complexity of the animation and where it will be used, it depends. Assuming you're talking about an animation for the web, the easiest way to produce simple animations is by creating several frames of a GIF file. Adobe Photoshop / ImageReady / Illustrator is the standard software used, and is great for a million other things as well. But anything capable of creating GIFs should allow you to create animations.

For more complex web animations, esp. interactive ones, you may need to use Flash. Pick up Macromedia Flash Studio for that (though Adobe has bought Macromedia too, so it's all bundled now anyway). It isn't cheap but it's a good investment for any image related work.

Should i use After effects of Flash to Animate?

It depends on what sort of effects you are looking for and what purpose the final animation will serve.

After Effects is typically used for editing video whereas Flash is typically used for more cartoon-style animations or web presentations. However, someone who's truly experienced in either one can accomplish many of the same things. Both Flash and After Effects can are good for layering, compositing, creating effects and animations. On a side note, Flash also has ActionScript which allows user interaction while AfterEffects is simply used for creating a flat video file. Often times, AfterEffects will be used to create a video animation that is later imported into a larger Flash project or game.

Final Cut Pro is basically equivalent to Adobe Premiere Pro, which is similar to After Effects. Basically, the only difference between After Effects and Premiere is Premiere is better at working with general editing projects or projects with long timelines whereas After Effects is better at working with shorter clips but high-quality special effects.

Like all other computer applications, you basically need to experiment until you find the one that best suits your needs. I personally have all of the applications listed above as some things are simply easier to do in one program rather than the other. Any one of those program can take years to master though.
