Flasher For My Monte Carlo

Brake lights not working on my 1972 monte Carlo ?

You need a testlight to check power and grounds.
With the brake lights, the power from the fuse box goes to the switch.
The switch is either in the engine compartment, attached to the master cylinder, or under the dash on the pedal arm.
If you have power to it, then you press the brakes and see if power crosses it.
Then you check the power in back before the lights.
Then you check the bulbs by applying power directly to the contact and ground sleeve.
Then you make sure the socket is tight, clean, and grounded.

Similarly you do the turn signals, except the switch is hazard button or column turn selector.
All electrical items are a continuous circuit, and you follow it along from where there is current, to where it stops.

And you don't have a short, or else you would be blowing fuses.
Instead you probably have a long or open circuit.
And wires almost never go bad, except if you have an accident where they get pinched.
It is almost always switches, connectors, filaments, fuses, or something that can get corroded or burned out.

Where is the turn signal flasher located for a 1985 monte carlo?

The Flasher is located:
Front seating area, driver side, driver side of steering column, behind dash, mounted on lower right corner of fuse block
Application:
Turn signal

2000 Monte Carlo turn signals stop working!!?

I just bought this car about a month ago. I am having a problem with the turn signals not always working. It can't be a fuse because sometimes they will work. I also noticed that my rear defrost does not work either. Does this mean I have a wiring problem with my car?

Why do my interior lights flicker on 2001 Monte Carlo?

My dome light and the lights on the bottom of my r/v mirror started flashing randomly and erratically, whether the vehicle is on or off. Somethimes they'll stay on for a while, sometimes off, sometimes random flickering. doesn't matter whether engine is on, off, acclerating, going over a bump....

Also, my turn signals have begun to behave simlarly. It's much rarer, but sometimes I'll flip the switch and the indicators don't light up, but then they'll come on again at random if the switch is still on.

Any takers?

I have a monte carlo and both turn signals suddenly stopped working, both inside and out? What is the problem?

Press the hazzard flasher button while you have the turn signals on. If the signals start to work, I would suspect a bad hazzard flasher. I have seen many late model GM vehicles with this problem. The 2002 Malibu is the one I see most often for this problem. You should check all fuses first. Some vehicles have more than one fuse box, so, check your owners manual for turn signal fuse location.

Hope that helps!

My left side turn signal work, but my right does not. Please help.?

The clicking noise that turn signals normally make work for my left turn signal, but it doesn't make that noise for my right turn signal. It just has a dim light. Could it be a fuse that goes directly to the right turn signal? The left works perfectly fine it's just weird for the right to not work. It's for a 1977 Monte Carlo.

What does the red light on the back of a Formula 1 car mean?

NEW WARNING LIGHT SYSTEM FOR 2014The FIA has already moved to minimise the risk of problems of drivers being caught out when the engines automatically cut throttle to help reduce fuel use.A new warning light system has been introduced for 2014 - which alerts pursuing cars when fuel maps have been activated that means cars are not running at full performance.Whiting explained: "If the torque management system on the car decides that it want to go into fuel save mode then a system kicks in."If you are flat out on the straight and you are above a certain threshold - above 95% throttle for more than one second, and you are above 180km/h and you see a 120KW torque reduction - it flashes the rear light for a second to warn the driver behind."Not all drivers are convinced about the benefits of the system yet - and tweaks could be made in the future. This system only works on the automatic fuel saving modes, and does not cover the situation of drivers suddenly adopting 'lift and coast' tactics.

Why do my hazard lights work, but not my turn signals?

Hazard lights and turn signals use the same bulb, so it is not the bulb, the lamp, or the cables to them. Turn signals only work when the ignition is on; hazard lights work whether the ignition is on or not. The two systems have separate power supplies, so they have separate fuses. You may have a blown fuse.Different vehicles use different circuits, and it is not possible to accurately diagnose the fault with the small amount of information provided. You need a circuit diagram and a voltmeter, and a continuity tester. First locate and test the turn signal fuse. Do you have voltage to and from the turn signal switch? The hazard light switch is not a simple on/off switch. In the “on” position, a fused battery feed connects to left and right turn signal. In the “off” position, the left turn switch wire is connected to the left turn lamp and the right turn switch wire is connected to the right turn lamp, so there are 3 inputs and 2 outputs. The fault could be a fuse, turn signal switch, hazard switch, flasher unit, or a broken wire or connection.
