Folder In Media Card That Occupies Too Much Space

Can I retrieve deleted pictures from kodak Z712 IS?

Hi, there

If you haven't save new files to the sd card, then you have great chances to retrieve the deleted pictures. I think you may rely on a picture recovery program called Wondershare Photo Recovery to do the job.

Here is the steps you may refer while recover your deleted pictures from your Kodak camera memory card.
1. Download and install Wondershare photo recovery program on your computer. Free download from this site:
http://www.disk-utilities.com/photo-reco...
2. With your memory sd card inserted, Under "My Computer", note the drive letter assigned to your camera's sd card (usuallyG: or H:).
3. Start Wondershare Photo Recovery and select the drive letter that assigned to camera memory sd card, click "Next".
4. Now the scanning process will start automatically to look for the deleted pictures. You will then get a list of all recoverable ones.
5. Select the pictures you want and click "Next", then select a folder to store the recovered pictures. Click "Next" and you can get back deleted pictures from sd card successfully.

Hope it will help you.

Best regards

Low disk space on my ancient desk top?

if you have cleaned out loads of stuff but still have low disc space then apart from putting stuff on an external drive or to CD or DVD there is little else you can do.
Have you cleared the Temp folder contents? Disc clean up should have done it for you but try this little program which will clear several other areas as well.
ATF Cleaner by Atribune.- http://majorgeeks.com/ATF_Cleaner_d4949....
What OS version are you using? Try clearing the System Restore points (SRP) and then adjust how much space the SRP can occupy (3Gb is usually sufficient). The SRP can occupy as much as 15% of your disc space if you let it.
If using Vista you can also try clearing out the older Service pack files if running SP2. If your original version of Vista was without a service pack and you have added SP1 and then SP2 there are many redundant files that will not clear on their own. Open the Command Prompt (type CMD into the search, right click and select Run as Administrator) then simply type compcln.exe and press Enter and it will "clean" the no longer required files and gain a bit of space, typically between 1 and 5Gb.

Why is my 4GB memory card only holding 32 pictures?

There are several possible answers to this question `

1) Have you changed the settings in your camera to a different recording mode? RAW and TIFF settings will usually reduce your number of pictures dramatically. Or if you set the camera to record multiple formats, RAW + JPEG for example, it will mean you get far fewer pictures.

2) You may have a folder or files that are still on the card. If you use one card in two different cameras this can happen and sometimes the camera(s) do not recognize the alternate folder so, if you're lucky, they just ignore and don't use the "occupied" space. Otherwise they may just overwrite the other data or muddle the images together.

3) Did you format the card on a computer? This is USUALLY a VERY BAD IDEA! In some cases it will create a format incompatible with the camera, in other cases it will use a format scheme that doesn't allow many pictures to be recorded. In the worst case it can make the card unusable in a camera.

4) The worst case scenario is that you have a counterfeit card that is not truly a 4GB card. A few dishonest vendors take low capacity cards and relabel them as much higher capacity. They may even write a fake header to the card that makes it read as a higher capacity until you actually write something to the card.

5) The last possibility is that the card is simply at the end of its life, either because it has been used and reused many times or it has been exposed to a source of strong magnetic or electro-magnetic force.

EDIT: To fix this will depend on the problem. Make sure you have removed all previous content from the card. Then format the card IN THE CAMERA you are using. If the problem persists get another card. If the card is new return it to the vendor and ask for a replacement.

Why does Google Photos take up so much storage space on my phone?

By default, the Google photos cache size is unlimited. Every photo you upload on Google Photos Account will be cached to the memory as soon as you open it. This makes it faster to load pictures without having to re-download each time you open it.So the recent trip photos you just uploaded using your PC and viewed from the app, it all gets cached in the memory. So when you open them next time, it will load from the cache, and doesn’t need internet. That caching takes up storage space. Thankfully, Google Photos have the option to limit cache size. For that, follow the steps below.Open the Google Photos appGo to the settings (Top right gear icon on the sidebar menu)Once there, click on Manage device storageEnable the Limit CACHe size option. If asked, enter the amount of storage in mb you wish to allot to the app. Sometimes, the app automatically limits the cache size depending on the total memory available.I am also attaching a short video of the above steps on my iPhone 6 PLus.0:00-0:12

Android : Why am I getting storage space running out problem?

Because your phone IS running out of storage. LolOk, When your phone's internal memory has less than around 250MB of storage space left, they start shouting about less storage availability and create one hell out of it. A partition is usually created in the phone and space is dedicated to apps and your other files like photos and videos. So sometimes it happens that even though your phone has good amount of space left you'll still see the warning. Solution: 1.Time to move your data from phone memory to your Internal SD card. If you can move some apps too, go for it. 2. Clear cache. You will see this when you tap on Storage(in settings) 3. Delete thumbnail files. It should be in your camera pics folder. You may need any good File explorer app like ES File Explorer as the thumbnail folder is hidden. You can view the hidden files from this app. The name of the file would be " .thumbnails". 4. Uninstall any app which you don't use very often.

Help?? Is it possible to restore all the pictures you deleted on your camera?

You can very often recover deleted pictures from a camera memory card or USB Memory stick. However, to increase the chances of being able to recover pictures after they have been deleted you must not save any new photos, files or data to it.

When you delete pictures (or any files) from a memory card or USB memory device the data itself isn't deleted, just the file system pointers that says where the data for those files is located. The area where the deleted picture data was stored is also now marked as free space so it is available to the system for any new files to be written there instead.

If and when that happens, then it is too late to recover your deleted pictures so it is very, very important that new pictures or files aren't saved to the memory card in the meantime.

One of the easiest ways to see if your deleted pictures can be recovered is to try some photo recovery software.

One tip is to try a demo version of a commercial product that will scan the memory card for deleted pictures and show you exactly what pictures can be recovered. At least that will show you if you can recover the deleted pictures or if it's too late already. MASTER UNERASER:
Just because a file isn’t visible in Windows Explorer doesn’t mean that it no longer exists. Master Uneraser analyses the hard drive at a low level, scanning the space to uncover files that have been deleted. Its Explorer-style display lets you see both deleted and current files. How can I free up internal memory (90 pct full) on a Moto E?

According to me, these are the easiest ways to free up your internal storage. But if you want to see it in action, I recommend you to watch this small video - 3 ways to free up your phone's internal storage!Clear your cache files.Cache is a temporary memory to store all your recently accessed files of an app. They actually make your apps work faster. But when analysing at macro level they do not improve your phone's performance to a large extent but they do occupy most of your storage space. Even without cache files your phone would perform significantly faster. So take time to clear your cache files.Settings -> Apps -> Application list -> (any app) -> Storage -> Clear cacheUse cloud services.Another way to free up your internal storage space is to make use of various cloud services available for free. For one would be the Google photos on which you can take a backup of your photos and videos. Once you've backed up all your media files you can delete those files in your gallery thus increasing your storage space. You can also use online music streaming service instead of downloading songs to your internal storage. Some of the music streaming services are Spotify, Pandora, Saavn, Wynk (free for Airtel users), Jio music (free for Jio users).Clean your downloads folder. This is one of the undervalued tips and is not often told by many people. It's about the downloads folder. You might be actually surprised to see how much of your space is being occupied by files present in the downloads folder. Let's say you are searching for something on the web and you come across this link which exactly describes what you are searching for. With the desire to know the results of your search you tend to click that link and what it does is downloads a PDF file instead of opening a link. Since you are interested in knowing the answers for your search you ignore that downloaded PDF file by swiping them away from your notification tab. This one PDF file might be just few megabytes in size but you do this often and a lot of PDF files get accumulated in your downloads folder. Opening the downloads folder, you might be surprised to see a lot of files which are not of much use to you are present in that folder. So take time to manually delete files which you don't need.Thank you. Hope this helps!
