For Anyone Who Has Seen The Play Kinky Boots

Should I see Matilda or Kinky Boots on Broadway?

Kinky Boots is definitely geared more towards a more mature audience, with its humor, and content. While it is a absolutely wonderful musical, I would suggest it over Matilda personally, but take into consideration your age and if you are going with anyone, their age and maturity as well. (It is by no means a bad show, I just feels as though somethings are a little inappropriate for those of a younger age.)

What is the best musical you've ever seen?

I answered this question as WHAT musicals have you seen? This is not in order of enjoyment. What would be a good Broadway play to see when we visit NYC later this year? We were considering Kinky Boots.

Depends on your interest of course, but I just saw a small-theater presentation of “Sweeney Todd” in NYC. It’s WAY off-Broadway in location, being performed in a converted meeting room in the west Village, but it was totally professional. It’s an amazing experience when the action goes on so close to you and the cast was outstanding.Note that it’s not really a happy musical, like Kinky Boots is, but it is a classic.

What best broadway show to see in new york?

Auditioning for Elle in Legally blonde, need a song?

Pretty much all of the roles in Legally Blonde are a belt. So what ever you sing make sure it is sung strong with a lot of character. The girl who played Elle on Broadway was also a country singer, country singers like Elle's part have strong beltish voices. Try to pick modern fun belt songs like:
Pulled- Adams Family
It Won't Be Long Now- In The Heights
Gimmie Gimmie- Thoroughly Modern Millie

My personal choice would be "History of Wrong Guys"- Kinky Boots. This song is just like the style of singing you would find in Legally Blonde and the song is really fun to act out and fits Elle/Paulette's voice type and character really well.
Hope I could help! Break a leg! :D

I just discovered that my wife has a kinky fetish. What should I do?

We're both in our Mid 30's and both fairly successful business professionals. I recently discovered that my wife has a leather fetish (i.e. gloves/jackets/boots/pants/undergarments... and wants to bring that into some love life. I had a sneaky suspicion since she is portrays a dominant side, and loves to wear leather jackets/gloves/boots and any chance she can get. Any advice from men or woman out there to help with this situation? Any perspective would be greatly appreciated as I want to keep our marriage going strong!

Which is better: seeing the stage version of a musical or watching the movie? Why?

Another vote for live.  While a movie has the advantage of CGI and on-location sets, etc., many live stage performances do unique tricks to compensate for the nature of stage performances.  For example, in the Tony winning Kinky Boots, the story starts with the main character as a young boy working in his father's shoe factory.  At one point during a musical number, the boy walks across the factory floor passing behind a worker pushing a cart loaded high with boxes.  But instead of the young boy appearing after they pass, it is the adult version of the character.  Obviously the adult actor was hiding in the boxes and during that split second the boy stepped into the hidden section of the boxes as the adult stepped out onto the stage.  It was a great way to transition the story from childhood to adulthood without slowing down the performance.  In a novel or a movie, the writer never has to deal with such things; they'd simply "fade to black".   But in the theatre, I can tell you that the audience was cheering as much for this technical trick as they were for the actor (Stark Sands, who was nominated for a Tony and won a Grammy for his performance.)
