How do you say New Year in French?

It depends what you want to say specifically. I’m gonna assume you mean it as in ‘Happy New Year’ since you used capital letters, in which case you would say ‘Bonne année’ which literally translates as ‘Good year’. You could also say, though it’s not as common, ‘Bon nouvel an’ (‘Good New Year’).Now if you’re looking for a more ‘usable in a sentence’ translation, I’d go with ‘Nouvel An’, which literally means ‘New Year’, that we use as a common noun when we talk about, for example, plans and schedule.‘What are your plans for the New Year?’“Qu’est-ce que tu fais pour le Nouvel An ?”

On Chinese New Year lanterns, what do they write on them?

According to tradition, they write their wishes for the new year on the lanterns.

How do you say foreshadowing in French?

In English literature, foreshadowing is an example what we call literary devices. They're used to make a written work more interesting, to give it more depth and often to help explain or develop the plot.

Specifically, foreshadowing in a novel is early indications or hints (often vague or hard to spot) of what will happen later in the novel. It's usually easier to spot them much later, I usually don't realize until the plot unfolds and I notice all the clues I was given along the way.

I'm writing an essay for my French Literature class on a book I read that is filled with examples of foreshadowing... but I can't find an equivalent for the word in French.

My prof is French, english is her second language... and she'd never heard of foreshadowing. When I explained, she suggested "prévoir", "to forsee"; but it's not quite the same thing.

The dictionary lists the translation for foreshadowing as "annoncer". Despite my years of french I'm not sure if that's an accurate translation of what I mean or not.

Any help or input on this would be greatly appreciated.
This is my last hope!

What are the essay topics for JNU BA in French?

What are some comparisons of the Mexican, Russian, and Chinese Revolutions?

I'm not sure that corrupt government had much to do with any of the revolutions, except perhaps the Chinese one. The governments were harsh and ruthless, and they didn't care about the common people at all, but that isn't the usual definition of corrupt.

Peasants in all three countries were landless; that was Zapata's main theme in Mexico. Russian serfs had supposedly been freed a generation earlier, but in fact they were still under the yoke.

Mao was a Marxist-Leninist trained in Moscow. Mexicans weren't communists. (Zapata was an anarchist).
