What are some good hostels for staying near ACE Engineering Academy, Hyderabad?
I have been there from July to March duration for my preparation. I spent nearly 5-6 hours find a hostel which has Maximum 2-3 person sharing rooms and some cleanliness. I was really tough, as I visited 10-15 Boys hostels/PG , but almost all were 4 or 5 people or in some cases 8 people sharing. They used to put as many beds that can be accommodated there , and that too the bed size was generally equal to a sleeper class berth in Indian Railways.Finally I reached Niharika Boys Hostel (King Kothi area, 100 meters from the ICICI & HDFC ATM) which was 5 mins walk from ACE, abids center. They had single sharing cabins (very small), 2-sharing cabins, and of course 5-6 people sharing also for normal size rooms.I settled down for 2 sharing. Since it was cabin, which was some what open on top. There were noise some time, but that was manageable. I stayed there for the full duration.The best thing I like was that the family who used to run that hostel was well behaved, they used to keep the hostel clean(unlike other hostels). Kitchen used to get cleaned everyday.The rent was approx 3500 to 3800 INR. Perhaps it might not be the best hostel, but surely I did not face any major issues like water crunch, or unhygienic conditions . I was OK for me.Somehow I managed to get AIR 50 and now whenever I remember those days, I feels good that those struggling days are over.PS:Anonymous, because some of my followers are not happy with GATE or ACE related contents on their screens.
Which is better in Kota, preferring a hostel or a paying guest (PG)? And why?
It really depends on a lot of things. First of all, the definition of a paying guest is not same across Kota. The PG I lived in had only 2 other students living along with me and the owners of the house interacted with us like they cared (at least for their things that we used, if not for us). In such a PG, a sincere child will flourish. But in another PG, in which one of my friends lived, it was more of a hostel, with the owner of the hostel living with them. In my answer, I am going to consider the 2nd kind of PGs as hostels, as their environment is no different from a hostel.So the answer is simple. If you are a sincere student, then don't risk going to a hostel. If you are someone who likes to study in groups or who does not find inspiration to study on his/her own, then you can try your luck by going for a hostel.Also, it does not matter too much in any case. Just go for whatever is cheaper, or closer, based on your financial and physical status.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------To support my answer, I am mentioning the following observations from my personal experiences:-In the PG, personal care was easy. The owners would always help in arranging a doctor when I was ill and tell me when to switch to what habits to cope with weather there.Since I was lucky to be in a hostel with people who really wanted to crack JEE, it was easy to solve doubts and cope up with others in the preparation.In the PG, I would hardly ever be interrupted in my stream of thoughts, which helped me ponder over concepts and build strong foundation in concept-based topics like Mechanics.In hostel, my friends would always save me from wasting time, as they would tell me what things are important and what are not.Recreation is very easy in hostels and it is free!! And many a times, it is actually fruitful, as you discuss deep things with your hostel-mates (which actually is recreation) and end up learning a few tricks in solving problems (sometimes in math, and sometimes in real life situations)Recreation is very controlled when you live in a PG. You usually have to go to a cyber-cafe or a movie and whatever you decide to do costs you money. So you enjoy only for a fixed amount of time before getting back to study. You will surely be living in a hostel if you are able to get a position in an IIT. So you can choose experience a PG for once, or you can choose to getting used to hostel life.
What are the best accommodations near Made Easy, Delhi?
Made Easy has different locations in Delhi. Being a Mechanical student, I have stayed in Ghitorni as well as Saket. As I have stayed in Paying Guest rooms only, I can tell about those.In Ghitorni, I stayed at Lohia PG who were charging 8000/month for food and lodging(from each person in a two-shared room). But, I won’t recommend it. From what I have heard from friends, Comfort PG is a much better option than where I stayed. Rent there is around 9500/month(twin shared).Then, I shifted to Saket where I stayed at Friendz PG. Rent including food was 9000/month in a 2-shared room. This PG had poor standards of food hygiene. But they were willing to less 2000/month from each person if we told we would eat outside! There are other options in Saket,like Sweet Home PG.Overall I would say, almost all PGs are sub-standard. You have to identify which ones are way below sub-standard, and avoid them!Another piece of advice is, never pay advance deposit or any such amount which the owners demand. Chances are, you won’t get it back when you leave.
