Gaining Weight Since Got New Job

Desk jobs and Weight gain?

I'm 21, 5 1" and weigh 100 lbs. I am a store manager and am always on my feet. I can pretty much eat whatever I want and not gain a pound. I recently got a higher paid, awesome insurance job offer, but am now scared that all the sitting will mess with my metabolism. I know I will have to exercise more and eat healthier, not a problem. But I remember back in high school i used to eat pretty healthy and run every single day after school, and i still weighed 120 lbs. i know muscle gain will have a lot to do with that number, but i still had that baby fat on my face and belly. Then i graduated, got a job and have worked in retail and hotels for 4 years now. I don't know if after i turned 18 if something changed in my body where my metabolism is now higher, but I'm afraid that if i go back to sitting for 8 hours that i will gain that extra fat no matter how much i exercise , just like i did in high school...

I feel insecure since I gained weight?

Okay, so I gained about 30 pounds in 6 monts, and and first it didnt bother me that much because I focused on other things. But now I cant stop overeating and I definetly cant lose weight. But the biggest problem is that I reaaaally feel uncomftarable in my body. I used to be really skinny but with good boobs and *** and everyone always complimented me. But now I am more on the chubbier side on noone even looks at my body and it makes me really sad, It makes want to cry alot, even though I almost never cry. Since I have a terrible binge eating disorder I dont really thing I will be able to lose weight, but does someone have any tips on how I can love my body again( And for the record I am not insecure in general, I love my face and my pesonality, and my built for that matter)

Have you gained weight since you've been with your bf or husband?

Well, I have been on a roller coaster since I met my husband. I weighed about 135 when I met him, I thought I was fat then!! Oh man, I wish I had that body now. I always had an active job, and then I got a job with a real estate company and I sat on my butt all day, I gained about 10 lbs. when I started working there, but remained the same weight for about a year. Well, my father died a year later, and literally I gained 35 lbs. in 2 months!! He never said a word to me about it...I think he kinda understood...my father's death was VERY unexpected...he died of a sudden heart attack. Well, I went on weight watchers off and on for about 2 years, and got down to 152. We got married soon after, went on the honeymoon and I literally gained 13 lbs on our honeymoon that I NEVER lost!! I got pregnant a month after we got married and I weighed 230 when I had our daughter, but lost 50 lbs. in a month (probably from nursing), but ended up gaining 10 lbs. back, well...now I'm pregnant AGAIN and in 2 weeks I am having our son. I'm up to 216 lbs. this time. He has been talking to me a lot about loosing weight after I have this baby. I think he's ready for the old me to come back. He even talks about doing weight watchers TOGETHER...which is really nice of him...he doesn't have nearly as much weight to loose as I do. He doesn't say anything mean to me...just trying to get me motivated to loose some weight, which I need!! I'm ready for the old me to come back as well.

As far as your fiance commenting you on your weight...if he's not mean about it...he's probably just trying to motivate you to get healthy. It is really important to be healthy...especially for your (future) kids. You want them to have a healthy start. It's really important for me to loose the weight because of my dad dying from a heart attack...the funny thing is tho...he worked out every day...he just had a birth defect...but it's still the fact that heart disease runs in my family...and I want to be here for a long time.

I hope this helps.

Why am I gaining weight when I've been working out?

So about 2 years ago I got motivated to get healthy and lose weight. I lost about 65 pounds. I slacked off this year and gained about 20 of it back. So I decided its time to get back into it. I have been going to the gym regularly for the last 2 weeks doing the same (with a few minor changed) workout routine I was originally doing when I had my trainer and lost weight the first time. I've been going about 5 days a week, 2 hours or so a day doing a combination of cardio (usually bike), weights, machines, water aerobics, and some stuff using the ball. I drink a lot of water and have been eating small meals throughout the day.

That being said I have gained 7 pounds in the last 2 weeks! I went from 178 to 185!! I am a 5"3 22 year old female. I feel like I am retaining a lot of water which I've heard can happen when you get back into exercising after a hiatus. I also tend to retain water when I'm about to start my period, but that's not supposed to be for a couple weeks.

People keep telling me I'm gaining muscle. But its only been 2 weeks and I have hard time believing I've gained 7 pounds of muscle in 2 weeks, plus I feel bloated.

I know that what the scale says isn't the center point when it comes to weight loss, but I can't help but be a little discouraged.

Any ideas? Tips?

Will getting a job help me lose weight????? HELP!!?

Since I started homeschool I started to gain weight rapidly. And I keep gaining and gaining! I'm going crazy! I tried dieting and going to the gym once in a while, but I can't seem to lose anything! Instead of sitting home all day I wanna get a job. Like some fast food place, where I move alot. Is that a good idea? Will that help me with my weight problem??
Thanks guys!

Can't gain weight help? Tapeworm maybe?

I am 22 years old and I weigh around 135-140 right now. I been skinny all my life because I didn't used to eat a lot but ever since I got a job I am eating a lot lately and still not gain weight. Maybe for like a month I ate constant at Burger King(mainly fish sandwiches and sometimes whopper) almost every day or other day and after that I eat bagel egg and cheese and finish off with dinner and also took protein shakes every 2 days or so. Within that month and also worked out at my house for 45 minutes mainly pushups, situps, lift weight, etc and I went from 135 to 140 in a month. After that the next 2 days I was short on cash so I got maybe 1800-2000 calories for the next 2 days and my weight fell from 140 to around 136-137 just like that. Just 2 days ago I came home from work and had a huge pan with half of it filled with small pieces of chicken and I ate that with couple other things and it came to be around 2k to 2,2k calories and then in half an hour my stomach started to growl for hunger again and at the 50min mark I ate close to another 300-500 calories and I felt full only to be growling again in 30-40minutes. It seems whatever I eat just disappears so fast and it makes my stomach growling. My body wants to eat but mentally I don't want to eat anymore. Seriously all that chicken my dad who weighs(180-200) would eat maybe half of that to become full and not be hungry for couple hours. My stomach constantly hurts a little though. I can't see anything when I lift my shirt and my body is in decent shape but I feel so week. I recently started to take vitamins and also trying to take more protein shakes but I think it is a bigger problem than that. My aunt is my doctor and she won't be back for another couple weeks so I am seeing if anyone on here can give me suggestions on what is going on maybe? Maybe a tapeworm?

How to dress for work? (please help... weight gain struggles, pics)?

Ok so I used to be pretty thin, and therefore all my work clothes are for a thin person. I have gained some weight though I guess, because I tried on my clothes for a new job and.. theyre all pretty small and make my stomach look kinda dumb. I can't afford new work clothes, so I was just going to try to make these work..
Do they look okay? I'm trying a few styles to see if different shapes accomodate my belly better. So here's a photo dump haha

Anyway.. Im sorry this is so long, but thank you so much for your time! I'm just wondering if these things for work look okay, or what I can do to make them better without spending money? I cant afford to buy new things right now. Or is it not really even noticeable and I'm just being crazy? Haha please just be honest, i dont care if it is mean or not. I just dont know how to dress my new body type! Thank you so much.
