Was George w Bush a great president according to historians?

An honest historian would start by mentioning that “W” became president by suing America to throw out 180,000 ballots showing that Al Gore won after his dad's friends on the Supreme Court violated the equal protection clause of the Constitution to do it.Then he'd mention the fact that “W” created an office in the Pentagon (OSP: redistribution Office of Special Plans) to bypass US intelligence agencies and create the lies he used in speeches to build up support for the invasion of Iraq. And that he lied to Congress by stating he wouldn't go in w/o the UN onboard. He'd also mention “W's” massive wealth redistribution to-the-top policies that created enormous debt. And his deregulation of high risk home loans that led to federal regulators proposing new lending rules on the banks in 2005 specifically to avert an economic crash, but Bush blocked the new rules from becoming law and hence, the economy crashed.Bush WH Ignored Mortgage Meltdown Warnings - The Big PictureThen he'd mention the over 400 environmental rollbacks, relaxation of food inspections, shortcuts for new drug and medical device testing that caused an additional 20,000 premature American deaths every year far outpacing al Qaeda as the #1 threat to American lives.W was one of the worst presidents of all time.

What was George H. W. Bush's greatest achievements and failures as President?

The coalition victory in the Persian Gulf War could be amongst his greatest achievements. The Iraqi invasion of Kuwait on Aug. 2, 1990, provided the occasion for the most striking foreign policy achievement of the Bush administration.

The economic recession coupled with a perceived failure to end the war are amongst his greatest failures. Bush's handling of domestic affairs was less successful. The savings and loan crisis erupted in the early months of his administration, and the costs to the government only added to concerns about the federal budget deficit. Bush's plan to stimulate the economy by encouraging growth in the private sector included cutting expenditures and taxes, especially the tax on capital gains. After a prolonged battle with the Congress, he agreed (Oct., 1990) to a deficit-reduction bill that included new revenues, thereby breaking his 1988 campaign pledge to not raise taxes. This angered conservatives, but even more damaging to Bush was a prolonged international recession that resulted in stagnant economic growth at home, high levels of unemployment, and increased concern about the ability of the United States to compete with Japan and other nations.♥
