Getting Tooth Pulled Want Info

Does getting a tooth pulled hurt?

Your dentist will give you an anesthetic which will dull or more less eliminate the pain when it's taken out. But you will have some pain later on, though it is bearable, unless it's one of your wisdom teeth.

Those hurt like **** ( once the anesthetic wears off) but they do give you a pain killer to take for a few days and that's effective.

Sorry - don't want to scare you, but I am assuming you want an honest answer.

I don't know about the smoking part, but I can't imagine that you should smoke for awhile since the smoke is probably not good for what is essentially a wound in your mouth.

Getting teeth pulled for braces?

Um well your ortho will tell you what teeth need to be pulled.I didn't not have to get any pulled, And if you are scared at all it doesn't hurt. They numb your mouth. Good luck with the braces :) Tell me how you are.

How many days after having tooth pulled should you wait to drink alcohol?

I can tell you, with absolute poor-alcohol consumption certainty, that you should wait at least a day after any major dental procedure.  Working the door, and operating the keg, simultaneously at a frat party after a dental visit should be in the same league as alcohol+ power tools and welding equipment. One full 24 hour day will eliminate the Vicodin you forgot you took.  So that way you could consume the 20+ beers and not wake up with ketchup in your ear, your shoes painted pink, and a girl you don't know looking at you weird the next day at school.  Yes. Wait a day.

Does getting your teeth pulled out hurt?!!!!!?

i got 4 teeth pulled like 1 and a half weeks ago so i can get braces. here's the story of it-- well i went in and the first thing they did was numb my mouth they gave me 4 numbing shots. they put this little thing that goes over your nose and you breathe through your nose and then they wait 20 minutes and then start pulling teeth.. [I THINK THIS IS HOW THEY PULLED THEM BUT IDK SINCE I COULDN'T SEE I COULD JUST HEAR] he loosend them by pulling them out of the gum with something like putting this tool under your tooth the back of it and then the front of it then just yanked it out with a different tool, then he repeated that for the other 3. i didn't have ANY pain afterwards actually the only pain i had was where he gave me my shots. and he gives you some pain pills to take IF you have any pain. it really isn't that bad. but it took me like 5 hours to get the bleeding to stop but once it stops you have to eat soft stuff until the hole where your tooth was is gone. [BTW; i didn't breathe through my nose so i didn't get any of the laughing gas and it still wasn't bad] ALSO--the teeth i got pulled were some of my permanent teeth. just relax, everything will be okay. take your ipod so you can listen to music while he's pulling your teeth it helped me get my mind of it. :]

I had all of my teeth pulled out and I want to get dentures. How long after should I wait to get fixed for dentures?

Ask your dentist for an immediate denture, in some circumstances it could be made before extraction, it’s a temporary denture though. And sure it would cost you more and you would need another permanent one after bone healing.Regular dentures started within six to eight weeks after tooth removal frequently need to be relined or remade before one year, due to continued bone resorption. However, a healing time of six months is preferable after tooth extraction before denture construction is started.

Information on IV Sedation when getting wisdom teeth pulled?

I just did this a week ago. The oral surgeon put the IV in while I was looking out the window and then asked me if I felt anything... I barely got the word "yes" out before I was out. I woke up once during the procedure but that was because of a loud noise. I mumbled and I think the nurse pumped a bit more drugs in my IV and I was gone again in seconds. Next thing I remember they woke me up and had me go sit in a recliner for awhile to wake up some because I was really dizzy and loopy. They had to put me in a wheel chair to get me to the car because no way could I have walked! It was a nice, warm, relaxed kind of dizzy and loopy. My mouth was completely numb so I wasn't in any pain.

If you get nauseous with pain medication, make them give you something for nausea in the IV. I got basically the same concoction as you're getting except I told them no Fentanyl because I am sensitive to painkillers and that one is potent one.

You'll be fine. I am very phobic of dental stuff and am hypersensitive to all sorts of meds. I just knew the oral surgeon wouldn't numb me enough or sedate me enough or I'd barf in the middle of the procedure from an adverse reaction to the IV meds but nope! It went fine.

Does getting your wisdom teeth pulled feel like getting a regular tooth pulled?

No, No NO!!! Having your WT's removed is major and usually necessary.  The procedure is painless as they use anesthesia sometimes general.  If the wound healing goes according to plan and you do not get infections or dry sockets ...bonus points!! FOLLOW YOUR DENTISTS INSTRUCITONS.  It may take weeks for the pain in your jaws to go away but it will.  The constant pain is short lived but the pain from chewing takes a while.  It is no cake walk and the younger you can get it done the better.  Also, don't fall for the line "we'll do two now and then two later" ... if you have 4, have them all out in one go or you may not go back for the other two.  Ibuprofin will see you through, forget tylenol of any kind unless you can't take ibuporfin, and don't use aspirin becasue it can interfere with clotting, the faliure of which is dry sockets which you don't even want to know about, but if you get them go straight to your dentist, do not stop to book an appointment, just go.  The pain is excruciating, and the fix takes 30 seconds and pain is gone completely ...DO NOT WAIT.  If you need strong pain meds for more than 3- 4 days (oxy, codeine etc) something is wrong and go straight to the dentist to find out what.  You pay good money for WT extraction AND the after care that comes with it.  I had 4 out in my 20's and suffered for several weeks with chewing,  would I do it again .... yes, because it was the right thing for me to do in my circumstances.

How long after you get your teeth pulled can you be fitted for dentures?

You can have a denture pre-fitted and made BEFORE your teeth are pulled and can be placed at the same time as the extractions. It the teeth are already pulled, a denture can be made in around 4 weeks if there was very little surgery need to get the teeth out. But usually 8-12 weeks result in a much better gum and boney ridge to hold a denture.Tooth Implant Houston :: Comfortable, attractive teeth replacement.
