Girl In Boxing / Were Are Gyms

Have you sparred in boxing with a girl? If yes, who won?

All the time. Nobody won.I spar Muay Thai, or Thai boxing. We spar to practice, not to win. Technical sparring in Muay Thai is at maybe 25% power or just barely touching. There's no belt for Sparring Champion.I don't know about strict boxing gyms. Maybe it's different, but at least in the gyms I know sparring is not the place for headhunting or dick-measuring contests. That's what smokers, tournaments, and other fights are for. That said, I've often sparred girls who are clearly better than me. If it were a fight we both know she could probably beat me despite size and power differences. That's no different from sparring a guy who's better than me. Lots of people are. If my masculinity couldn't handle that, it'd be pathetically fragile.

If you are in a boxing gym and a girl (at the same level as you) asks you to spar with her, do you accept? Would you go hard or not?

When sparring, the person who has fewer skills is the one who should go harder. That way the superior boxer can practice their defense and the outclassed boxer won't be demotivated or get hurt. You won't really be able to gauge your relative levels until the session begins. If you’re the better boxer challenge your opponent, dominate them slightly, but don't beat the heck out them. There's no point in doing that. In my opinion you only go hard when a) you’re clearly dominated, or b) you’re evenly matched. Scenario b is the most exhilarating because it's like you're fighting yourself. So yes, absolutely accept. Apply the above rules to all your sparring partners regardless of their sex.

15 year old girl boxing?

For supplies, you'll need wraps (these go under the boxing gloves, and are basically long strips of cloth that wrap around your wrist and hand), gloves, and basic gym gear (i.e. a sports bra, lightweight tshirt or sports singlet, a pair of shorts or 3/4 workout pants, and a pair of cross-trainers).

I'm in Australia, but I think that your equivalent to what we have here would be a Dick's Sporting Goods store. I've been a few times and they have EVERYTHING. Alternatively, I'm sure that there would be a gym clothes section at a department store.

Most of my workout clothes are Nike, New Balance, and Everlast. Haven't had any problems with them.

Boxing is highly strenuous exercise, and on a regular training regime, chronic fatigue would be a problem. However, if your daughter takes it easy, makes sure to stick to what is comfortable for her, and takes regular rest breaks, she should be fine to learn :)

Should I join a boxing class if I'm a girl?

Okay so I'm 14 years old and I'm a girl and I want to do boxing. But I am overweight so will this also help me lose weight? I have been interested in boxing and I really want to start. my little brother is going to get signed up next week and I want to sign up too. But the gym is full of boys and I will feel kind of weird in there. Should I still join? Is it going to be weird? Or should I join in a gym where there's girls also?

I'm a 13 year old girl looking to start boxing?

My best guy friend goes to a gym and takes boxing classes, and I've been thinking that I might want to start.

If I really pick it up, are there even any competitions for teen girls?

Could a 13 year old girl even be taken seriously?

Youth Boxing Gym insurance?

I am trying to start a boxing program with my local boys and girls club ages 11-18. Our biggest obstacle so far is insurance. The BGCA insurance does not cover contact sports but I have researched and seen that other boys and girls clubs still offer boxing. I was wondering why waiver forms would not cover insurance issue or what the insurance cost for a youth boxing program would cost for about 30 kids?

Muslims Only..Male Boxing Teacher..Im a Girl:(?

assalaamu'alaykum ukhti

I find it necessary to mention to you that a Muslim is a person who pleases Allaah by acting upon his words in the Qur'aan and following the example of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). Having said that, you might have already noticed the answers of the ignorants above me, who are too indulged in this world to even care about their own religion.

It is not permissible for a man to be alone with a woman or teenage girl who is desirable, whether that is for a private lesson or anything else, in the home or elsewhere, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “No man is alone with a woman but the shaytaan is the third one present.” Narrated by al-Tirmidhi (2165); classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi.

And he (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “No man should be alone with a woman unless her mahram is present.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari (3006) and Muslim (1341).

What is meant by “being alone” is their being in a place where no one else can see them.

The stories which one hears about male teachers and female students are very disgraceful, and mean that the girl’s guardian must be even more careful and cautious.

The reason for that – and Allaah knows best – is that the girl is usually young, at the stage of adolescence, when desire is strong, and it is easy to deceive her, and she does not have enough common sense or experience to be able to understand things properly and control her desires. Moreover, lengthy interaction between the teacher and student, if it goes on for a year or more, will gradually reduce the shyness and modesty between them, which will make it easier to fall into that which Allaah has forbidden.

The one who finds that he needs to bring a teacher for his daughter must make sure that someone sits with them during the lesson, such as her brother, or he should make sure that the lesson is given in an open area of the house, such as the sitting room, for example, and not in a closed room.
