What are some good landscape architecture colleges?
It's definitely not impossible to get into a good architecture school with grades floating around a 3.0 GPA. Most major Universities will overlook lower grades if you have a great portfolio. I attended the University of Oregon's architecture program and we worked kind of hand-in-hand with some of the landscape architecture students during the first couple years for the initial classes. I know that their acceptance packet is somewhat similar to that of the architecture students. I can't really speak for the rest of the programs out there, but I did take a few landscape architecture courses at the University of Oregon as an architecture student, and we had some pretty amazing professors there. One of the courses that I had taken at the time was from a professor by the name of Kenneth Helphand who had done some fantastic work in Israel. The University is very focused on sustainable design in all aspects of architecture, so I'd love to see how they are implementing that into their landscape architecture program now. I know that it is one of the better known schools for sustainable practices. Im looking for a good Architecture College... can you help?
I'm a Ball State graduate and current graduate student in architecture. We have a great campus, a student body size that's not too big not too small. The architecture program is top-rated, has excellent professors and ample opportunities. Sustainability/green design is quickly becoming a focus of many courses, which will be helpful for the future as many environmentalists are pushing for sustainable designs. The university has many options for atheletics as well, but I wouldn't suggest sports and architecture, as your studies WILL consume the vast majority of your time (all architecture colleges that I know of try to weed out the uncommitted during the first year, so be prepared to devote everything to your classes, no matter where you go!) Is the University of Oregon a good college for architecture?
Absolutely. But keep in mind that being such a good school makes it highly competitive, between students in classes and trying to get them. I can tell you that you will not sleep much during your studio classes, especially when final projects come around! However, arch students usually finish finals about a week early, leaving lots of time to work on other classes. That being said, there are some amazing professors and classes, especially when it comes to sustainable design. Also, if you have good grades and test scores, check out the Clark Honors College, it's really worth it.

According to what I have heard the college is good. Any college that provides you with a good exposure and good extra curricular in terms of arts and architecture is good. Architecture is more of the outdoor study. Go up to the students and ask them about the faculty. Like my college has got several good architects and artists as visiting faculty for guest lectures and a good number of studios.Secondly, there are usually no placement like thing in architecture as for what I know the course includes an internship (According to Council of Architecture Professional Training during the course takes place and the duration vary’s from college to college usually 6–12 months) which is a very important part of our profession.
