What is a good HD video player?

I downloaded Avatar in 1080p and the file will play in WMP but there is no audio. Then I play it in VLC player and it plays both audio and video but just after a couple seconds it becomes all pixely and the video freezes but the audio keeps going. Who knows what I can do? I'm playing it on my laptop and its a very nice HP HDX 16 so it should be able to handle it. Any suggestions?

Can I Get My Laptop (Max Res: 1366x768) To Stream 1080p Movies Into My Full HD TV?

I plugged my laptop into my 1080p HDTV with an HDMI lead (Only capable of 1080i), My laptop said for optimal viewing i must change the resolution to 1360x768, so i did, but i'm wondering if i can possibly take up to 1080i ot 1080p? When i had it at 1366x768 the TV said i was running at 1440x900. At 1360x768 the picture fit the screen perfectly.

Or will i need a different graphics card? The laptop I'm using is the Advent Roma 3000, the Graphics Card is Intel Mobile 4 Series.

Thanks.

Is my wireless fast enough for streaming HD movies via netflix?

Speedtest.net shows my wireless laptop at 7.72 Mbps download and 5.55 Mbps upload. I'm using Comcast internet. If I were to get a wireless WIFI blueray player which would be able to stream Netflix movies would this be fast enough to watch HD movies without a lot of slow internet troubles?

How much RAM memory do I need to play full HD movies?

I hope you have a single 2GB chip so you can put this second 1GB chip in. If your computer has two 1GB chips already you might not have room for the third 1GB chip.

Finally as Mueed said, there are tests you can run to find out what is causing the problem.

Task manager will show you your memory and CPU usage so you can see if those are what is maxing out.

I use a program called GPU-Z to watch my video card memory and GPU to see if that's what is maxing out, but I doubt that is the problem.

I bet it is your internet speed as well. We have 20mbps and it easily streams HD. Before we had 2mbps and we had to buffer the videos before we could watch them.
