What are the best schools for fashion photography?

“Fashion photographers are the new painters,” - Peter Lindbergh.Magazines have been ever alluring. The fact about how simple clothes can look fashionably in trend is all about how they are shot.Fashion is all about comfort and class, and it is the pictures that sell the brand and helps make loyal customers. These brands collaborate with fashion photographers to get their collection captured. It is certain that fashion photographers understand the right emotion of each attire. This is then published either on their website of any publication physically printed. As much as magazines and print media value fashion photographers to cover events, so does the brands, therefore, the demand of such professionals in the industry has not experienced a downstream. To know more about fashion photography course Below are the following fashion photography school :Pearl Academy.Yatin Dandekar Academy of Fine Art Fashion Photography Sun Studio.JD Institute of Fashion Technology MumbaiFAD International Academy Mumbai

What’s the scope of fashion photography in India?

Photography is not an easy profession under any sub-category. Probably weddings are the easiest sub-category.I am already assuming that you have lot of skills and very competent in photography, especially fashion. For fashion photography (or any other kind too), you need to create a portfolio, and a website. You will need to advertise yourself and develop contacts. You will have to establish connects in the publishing media. As your fame spreads, you will get more enquires and this will lead to more fame. You also need to be in a city where fashion photography has a lot of scope - like Mumbai or Delhi. However good you are, no point if you are based in Latur, for instance (no disrespect for Latur). That is basically the key to success. However, success will take long to be achieved. Till that time you need to sustain yourself, buy/rent an office, buy equipment (usually a full frame camera and quality lenses like 24–70, f2.8 + 70–200 f2.8), money for websites, promotions and advertising, etc. As per my estimate, it may take at least 10 years but can be done earlier if you have the right connects.

Which camera is best for fashion photography and film making?

The problem with your approach of not wanting a 'one trick' camera is that a camera can be optimized for either stills, or video. A still camera that records video, like a Canon 5DIII will take stills very well and video will be mediocre when compared to a dedicated video camera.

If you'll be using a still camera to take professional level video, you'll need to invest in a great deal of video specific accessories to make up for the camera's inherent short-comings in that area.

On the other side of this situation are video cameras that allow the capture of individual frames for still photos. Often these will have very unimpressive still photograph capabilities.

The only video camera I've seen that does still photography well are the Red cameras. However, they are anything but cheap and have a host of idiosyncrasies of their own.

I'd suggest deciding whether you'll be shooting stills or video primarily and choose a camera based on that requirement. If you can't decide which you'll be doing more of, and its within your budget, get one of each.

When it comes to what types of photography are better suited to which cameras: most DSLRs on the market today can handle 95% of shooting requirements anyone can throw at them. The lens is most often the weak spot anyway.

Hope that helps!

What are the best ways to market photography in Delhi?

Before we start marketing photography we need to understand we are offering our prospect client a blend of service and products. Most important step would be identifying our prospect client. Once we are done with that, facebook marketing tool comes handy where we can actually target out focused segment of clients thus increasing visibility in the market. Furthermore blog/vlog about the service provided, the backdoor work will give the client reasons to trust.Word of mouth promotions or referrals will come handy here where we can easily retain the old clients as well as network with the connected clients. (a little bribe of discounts is ok to make the presence felt)Nevertheless on traditional front: emailers, reminders and cold calling is extremely important to aquire the new clients.

Is fashion designing good career option?

It is a great career, if you have talent and the passion to pursue it. Your skill set can be developed with the right training. It is much easier to launch a career in fashion design by attending school and earning a Bachelors in Fashion Design or Architecture, believe it or not. Fashion Merchandising is more the business side where you would focus on buying, planning and forecasting trends, therefore, you will not get the training necessary to function as a designer. Nonetheless, it is possible with a degree in Merchandising, but it will be far more challenging. As a “fashion insider”, I can tell you that being a designer is not easy. There will be challenges and if you work for a company instead of launching your own line, there are guidelines that you must follow. You will not always get to make the designs that you want. Many fashion designers have 10–12 hour days if not longer and very little work life balance. I believe that all of this is important for you to know more than the good stuff because there are always aspects of your job that you will not like. I say this not to discourage you, but to give you an idea of what to expect and to help you determine if that sacrifice is worth the investment. However, if all of what I have said doesn’t faze you, go for it!
