It sounds like you mean "DIVERSION." Many states have a pre-trial diversion program for young offenders charged with minor crimes. Basically, the case is held open for a period of time & if they stay out of trouble or comply with any special conditions like counseling, community service or restitution, the case is dismissed & they are eligible to expunge the arrest record. It is as good as being found not guilty. Do your sister a favor & don't argue with her about her decision. Many people are loathe to admit even to their closest friends & family that they did what they are charged with. Just support whatever she does; don't pry & accept the fact there are some things you may never know.
