Got A Skin Tan. Will Scrubbing And Exfoliating Work

Whats better? Exfoliating gloves or an exfoliating scrub?

Both are great products to remove dead skin cells or to properly exfoliate before a spray tan. You'll probably get better results using the gloves but the scrub works just as well and may last longer than the gloves. We sell them both and have had clients that prefer each for their own reasons.

Why is it important to exfoliate before self tan?

Exfoliating your skin gives it a smooth surface. Our skin is constantly shedding and it does not do this equally. You can use a loofa or get a body scrub and use it with a wash cloth. The key is to get all the dead skin off and to make it even.

Every self-tanner comes with a warning to WASH your hands. The dye from the self-tanner colors everything it touches...this includes your hands, fingers and nails. After you use the self-tanner IMMEDIATELY wash your hands with warm water and soap.

Also with self-tanners, be careful of your hairline and eyebrows (these can change color as well).

The key is to apply the self-tanner evenly to get the best results.

When I use self-tanners I actually use those disposable gloves. It's a little awkward, but at least I know that I'm going to get orange fingers!!!

Does using scrub take off your tan?

Okay. Great question.
Some people won't agree with this.
But i swear by it.
Exfoliating DOES take off your tan.
Maybe not significantly-- but enough to notice.
Scientifically, all a tan is. is dead skin cells.
Scrubbing/exfoliating is designed to remove dead skin cells.
(i.e) Remove your tan. Makes sense huh? =]
My suggestion to you is to exfoliate / scrub BEFORE tanning.
And don't shower until 3 hours after tanning, (because your skin still soaks in the tan.. and will get darker up to 24 hours after a session).

I'm not sure if you are talking about scrubbing your face or body;
But maybe use a wash that has a lather, rather than beads.
AND ALWAYS USE LOTION AFTER SHOWERING.
It prolongs the life and the beauty of your tan. =]

What is your secret to glowing skin?

Believe it or not, when I was young I had this policy: “utility is more important than beauty”. But as I grew up and entered into high school, facing harsh realities of this world, I learned “both beauty and utility are of equal importance!”.So I started working on my skin…I used to look like thisPs: sorry the picture isn't clear…but I had one picture of me from that time period. So, back to the point…I started to follow a regular schedule/habit for my skin:Indeed, as said “drinking water regularly”Washing my face 3–4 times a day (can vary depending on skin type, I had oily, hence 3 to 4)Using the correct product to wash my skin. Since I had both oily _and_ dark skin. I went for something which had a minute quantity of tea tree oil in it. ( It will give you both glowing skin and also control the oil)Applied various home made facepacks to see which suited my skin the best and then continued to use them. (you can browse for them on the internet easily, though the ones containing gram flour are the best, in my opinion).Sleep is must for beautiful skin, 7–8 hours a day keeps blemishes, wrinkles and other skin problems awayLemon-yes, Lemon. The actual secret of my glowing skin is lemon (& that tea tree product, too). It just cuts the oil off my skin and de-toxifies it. I just can't stop praising it.Healthy food. One really needs to work on one's diet to have good skin. Food which compliments your skin is a must. (References to sources supporting this claim, and your other claims, are advised, per Quora's policy).Patience. I really had to have patience. You may not find any changes in one day or one week…. But if you keep trying…then surely you’ll get the skin that you want one day :)Makeup. I don't recommend makeup much. I do makeup only on special occasions. For everyday basis, I just apply a moisturizer which also acts as sunscreen, kajal (so that I don't look groggy) and a lip balm.Result:This is my present skin condition.PS: Just woke up (has been nearly hour or so) and took this picture for this answer.Edit: For pessimists, I used Redmi 3S. And for the girls or ladies out there, who think why my kajal isn't messed up, I used Colossal brand, which advertises minimum 16-hour retention. I applied it at night and clicked this pic the next morning, so there is less chance of smudging. Even if it does smudge little, I do have two working hands, which I can use to remove the excess kajal around my eyes. :p

How do you remove a skin tan?

I always have been thinking that my color was dusky just because I used to be all tanned. In Jaipur, we have almost 8 -9 months of summers. Scorching heat never let me show my true hue. I always have been driving two-wheeler and used to wrap myself all up like a mummy in scarves, gloves, socks, summer coat. No help.I still drive two-wheeler these five things helped me preventing a tan and remove it if I had. Its a routine, follow it religiously especially in summers.Sunscreen. Applying sunscreen to every uncovered part of your body. Reapply after three hours if you are going out. Select it according to the quality of your skin.I personally use this one.2. Drapes. Yes you still need to drape yourself in cloth. Even if you drive a car, If you had to walk in the sun even for 5 minutes, you still need it. You can also use a hat or an umbrella.3. Face wash. As soon as you come home, you should wash your face with suitable face wash, so that the accumulated dirt can be removed. Sometimes the dirt also makes the skin tone look dark. It should not clog your pores.I use this very mild face wash.4. Vitamin E oil. These are miracle pills.Makes your skin glow overnight seriously. Just mix it with any cream, oil or lotion. I prefer it with Jhonson’s baby oil.5. Mask. Once in a week, use this mask all over your body to remove your tan and get a supple skin. Mix Fuller’s Earth or Multani mitti in curd.Apply.Leave until completely dry then wash it off. Or . Mix Besan, malai, curd/dash of lemon/tomato, bread crumbled.Apply. Leave until completely dry then wash it off. These tips are for all skin tips.Thanks.
