Losing Thigh Fat in Anorexia Recovery?

Let me start off by telling you I understand how you feel completely (I'm 17 years old.) When I was younger, I hated my thighs! And then I grew up to hate my stomach. It's natural to pick out our own flaws, since we look in the mirror everyday. I'm a perfectionist. I want to look the part, act the part, and be the part.
However, I've studied nutrition and know that 3,500 calories is WAY too much to consume per day. The average woman who wants to maintain her weight eats approximately 1,600 calories. A woman who wants to lose weight but stay HEALTHY would lower her calorie intake to 1,200 calories gradually and never go lower than 800 calories a day. A person who eats less than 1,000 calories for a long period of time can ruin their metabolism, and that's a son of a ***** to "fix."
But, I like to get results fast. So last year I lost 40 pounds in 3 months. I was moody, unhealthy, sad, paranoid. My hair was brittle and dry, my nails were thin, I was tired all the time, my grades dropped, my friends called me out on my mood swings. It was terrible. And then over the summer I started eating "normal" again and gained 10 pounds back in 2 months (current.) My weight will always be a struggle, it's an ongoing battle. My metabolism "sucks."
My tips for you is to run every morning! Maybe ask for a treadmill for Christmas if you don't have one! That's what I am doing now. It's best to run right when you get up, after you've stretched and drank a glass of water. Also, try to drink TONS of water. By not changing your eating habits and adding 5 extra glasses of water can make you lose up to 3 pounds a week! Also, make sure you get at least 8 hours of sleep and eat small but periodically through the day! STAY HEALTHY. :)

How to lose belly fat after anorexia recovery?

How do I cope with weight gain in recovery from anorexia?

Just shrug your shoulders, get down from the weighing machine and don't let the numbers control your mind. There's one thing you should know for sure, that weight gain isn't a continuous progressive geometric series.Simply, it's not uniform and continuous and soon it'll stop unless you don't have a serious medical condition than me.Let me tell you my story.I used to eat an average of 600 calories during my highly restricted diet, along with 4 hours of exercise per day.The effects of my diet were terrible.I didn't lose as much of weight as expected. I lost muscles instead of losing fat.I suffered from a lot of psychological problemss including depression and social anxiety. My social life was completely destroyed.I suffered from low blood pressure, low blood glucose level and menstrual irregularities.I was afraid of weight gain like you. However I started eating normally, forgetting about caloric measurement as it ruined my life.During the first week, I had no taste in food and no desire to intake food. So I couldn't eat much. But I gained about 1 kg of weight.Second week. I regained my desire for eating food and I'm eating a lot of food everyday. Weight remains constant.Third week. I seriously need to gain weight since I'm feeling really weak and my dad won't take me to visit Darjiling until I do so. So I tried to gain some weight and became successful.Fourth week. Today I lost some weight again. You wanna hear what I ate yesterday? I ate about 500 g of kheer(made with rice, milk and ssugar) myself. Along with a lot of peanuts, 3 bananas, about 300 g of pasta with eggs, rice with chicken, potato chops, puffed rice, milk tea and I can't remember more.My medical conditions include: Hypothyroidism, menstruation stopped for 4 months(I ate a lot of dates but it didn't work. My gynecologist won't prescribe me any more medicines until my hormonal levels are stabilized) and irregular sleeping pattern. I couldn't take thyroid medications everyday due to forgetting.I know I wrote a boring essay, but I'll be the happiest person on earth if my story could motivate anyone. My point is, eat normally like most people do. Anything is fair as long as you can maintain a healthy weight. It's Ok even if you become overweight, as long as there are no health problems. It's just about enjoying your life. Weight changes have a lot of variables to be considered, and it's not eternal.

I am a recovering anorexic who has gained too much weight back in recovery. How do I lose weight without going back into restrictive habits?

There’s no such thing as gaining “too much weight” in recovery. You have to trust your body to overshoot its optimal set weight for a while(no matter how long it takes) to heal the colossal damage in your body. And losing weight now, or in the future, is only going to to result in relapsing or reverting back into your restrictive habits. Your body currently doesn’t trust you, and may be frantic in conserving as much energy or food as possible so that should you ever starve again, the body can afford to keep you alive in short term. And no, you can’t lose weight without going back into old restrictive habits. At your current state, it’s extremely dangerous and will only push you back further away from the stable remission road.Stop weighing yourself at all, there’s seriously no point or purpose in doing that. It only keeps you obsess and stress when you place your recovery effort into numbers from the scale. Stopping the gaining of weight is equivalent is stopping your recovery efforts and reversing all the work and effort and determination that carries you this far. There are always things that we aren’t supposed to control with your conscious mind: weight, life processes, metabolism, digestion and a lot more. Imagine that if these were all control by our so called conscious mind, our body will collapse. There are things that are determined subconsciously by our own body, and biology made sure that happened for very good reasons. Please read this article: Weighing Yourself: Don’t Do It written by en experience expert in this field.Release that tight need for control over everything. Take a breath. Breathe. You can definitely do this.Update note to anyone writing to answer this question: please don’t suggest any weight loss plan or restricting diet. Anorexia is a very serious life-threatening eating disorder and I fully understand that many are just addressing the question but the anon cannot afford and must not attempt to do it. Her body needs food for energy to heal, it’s almost like the only medicine and cure right now. In our extreme weight-obsessed society, the need to lose weight and restrict may be one of the root causes for the eating disorder and suggesting ideas like these are dangerous triggers for major relapses.

Anorexia recovery im gaining weight too quickly?

Hey guys so im undergoing anorexia recovery and i am really shocked at how fast i am gaining the weight when im not even binging infact im still eating under around 800-1000 (just to start off and increasing a little ever other day) . I was doing really well and since i am not underweight just barely there i mainly want to get my heartrate up and my metabolism up but i went on the scale after 3 days i gained 5 pounds!! And that was after i had my bowel movement and urinated and in the morning. I was so so scared because i am willing to gain weight in order to get better but the rate is just so crazy. i read online that its just water weight and food weight but i had the bowel movements :'( . Is it possible that i really did gain like 2-5 pounds in 3 days? maybe i should take the scale away but how often should i weigh then to get a pretty accurate rate of weight gain? Thanks so much guys for any helpful inputs really appreciate it.
