Green Anole Turning Brown In The Am Green In The Pm

My baby anole is two weeks old. She has UVB light and is eating fruit flies but. She is brown/ gray now. HELP!?

It's common for ALL reptiles to change color. Usually from green to brown. Do you have the UVB light on all day? Or do you turn it off at night? My snakes and lizards seem to look healthier when i turn there lights off from 10:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., because it helps them sleep. Maybe she has lost weight or maybe she hasn't. If she's sick, she would probably start acting slow and tired, and won't eat anything at all. Overall, you really shouldn't have to do anything right now. It sounds like you feed her and care for her just fine.

Why is my Green Anole brown?

Your green anole may be brown for any or all of these reasons:It is blending in with its environment. It is reacting to temperature. If it feels hot, then it turns green; if it feels cold, it turns brown.Wikipedia puts it best:The anole changes its colors whether cold or hot or by mood. The bright light, against foliage, it appears emerald in colour, but in shadier, cool or moist conditions grey to olive brown. However the color change is not simply a matter of matching background, but rather body temperature, stress and activity. Green reflects activity and bright light, whereas brown reflects reduced activity in moist, dark cool conditions.

Under what conditions does the anole lizard turn brown?

Unlike true chameleons, anoles don't change color to "blend in" - mostly the opposite. Males, especially dominant males, will often turn bright green as a signal of aggression and masculinity ("look at me, I'm not scared, I'm bright as heck because I'm a brave booger and I don't fear a thing"). Color seems to switch more based on mood than on physical well-being, although brown is seen more often in cooler temperatures. Sustained brown coloration MIGHT be a sign of illness, but it may just as easily mean loneliness, submissiveness, or it might just mean the anole feels like being brown. Watch the animal's behavior for signs of lethargy or loss of appetite. If the anole is old (they can live 3-6 years or more) the color may be dulling with age.

What kind of lizard do I have?

It's a male, and the red bubble is a way that me attracts a female. these lizards are anoles. they live wild in Florida everywhere. i live in Massachusetts, and they are not wild, but in pet stores everywhere. either let it go, or go to the pet store, but a 15 gallon or larger glass aquarium, get specialized reptile moss, a few fake plants, and YOU MUST GO TO THE STORE AND BUY AT LEAST 1 DOZEN CRICKETS A WEEK. you must! i usually buy 4 dozen at a time. i have 2 anoles, a toad, and a frog. each eats a dozen
of crickets a week. FORGET WHAT THAT OTHER GUY SAID! buy about 1 dozen medium crickets a week, or you can buy 2 dozen small. large crickets are hard for them to swallow, and make their throat soar.ONE more thing. buy a lizard heat lamp. also buy a light bulb for it. (a special lizard light bulb and light, found at almost any pet store) this must be on for at least 8 hours a day. turn it on in the morning anywhere from 5 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. turn it off anywhere from 5 p.m. to 10:30 a.m. the light bulbs die a lot, so if the lamp doesn't work, it's the bulb. YOU NEED TO BUY A SPECIAL LIZARD HEAT LAMP. other bulbs do not give them heat. keep the lamp on one side of the cage, so they can hide in the dark and cool down on the other side. also,v DO NOT place the cage by the window, and make sure your house temperature is below 78 digress ferinheight.

P.S. these lizards are everywhere, i suggest you just let it go.

If my passion is photography but I can't afford to buy a DSLR camera, what should I do? Should I give up my passion?

First of all: you should NEVER, EVER, EVER give up your passions: life would be extremely sad and dull without them.Photography it's a terrific (and very challenging) passion to have, I have it and I'm thinking to turn it into a full time job.Photography is, first in your brain, then in your eyes and hands and only at the last step in your gear; good gear helps, is needed to provide professional grade results and sometimes necessary to achieve a particular goal but it's NOT everything and definitely not the first thing to focus on.Modern Smartphones have a decent camera on board and they are the thing you'll have always with you most of the time, if you have a good smartphone you already have all the gear you need to start. If you don't have a smartphone or you're not satisfied by the quality it produces you can find a cheap entry level DSLR either from Canon, Nikon, Sony, Pentax, etc... for a far less price than an iPhone or GalaxySsomething.Enough speaking of gear, Photography is in your head! You should learn how to look at what you see in a different way, you should be able to tell a story with a picture, you should be able to learn how to frame, compose and light a scene to enhance that story. There are TONS of online resources, mostly youtube channels, from which you can basically learn more than you need to know about photography. The secret to enjoy photography is to always challenge and always better ourselves, taking A LOT of photos (within reason) everyday, look at them, figure out find what's good about them and what's bad about them, try to move forward basing your next photo session from those findings, ask advice from more experienced people, read books, attend workshops (yes even the bad ones), participate in a photo community or group in your area, and so on. Rinse and repeat. In a matter of months you'll see your photography skill improving at a steady pace, maybe months later you'll manage to put away some money to move to a better gear when you'll realize that the one you have has some limitations in the area you're most proficient, you'll learn what you like and what you don't like about photography and I strongly believe you'll be able to better yourself as a person, while practicing this form of artistic activity.I hope you find this advices of mine useful.Oh, and one last thing: Photography means: "writing with light" so, try to write the best story possible and use plenty of ink, I mean, light.
