Half-life 1 On Pc Using An Xbox Controller

Is Xbox 360 controller made so it could connect to PC too?

I think I am best suited to write this answer as I have been using a Xbox 360 wired controller on my windows since January 2012. It works flawlessly on every game that I have played in last over 5 years. Exceptions being some precise aiming games like Counter Strike Global Offense. To name a few here are some games that work perfectly with Xbox 360 controller.Far Cry 2Far Cry 3Far Cry 4Far Car 3: Blood DragonWATCH_DOGSAssassins CreedAssassins Creed IIAssassins Creed BrotherhoodFallout 3Fallout 4Elders Scrolls V: SkyrimDeus Ex Human RevolutionLimboFezInsidePrince of Persia (2008 Reboot)Prince of Persia Forgotten SandsMark of the NinjaBioshock InfiniteClosureCrysisDead SpaceDead Space 2Dead Space 3Don Bradman Cricket 14Half Life 2Half Life 2 Episode OneHalf Life 2 Episode TwoHitman AbsolutionTomb Raider (2012 Reboot)Lara Croft GoHitman GoPortalPortal 2The SwapperThomas was AloneI am pretty sure I forgot some titles and there must be 100s of more titles that I have not played but might be supported. Can you use a pc controller pad for half life 2?

It can be done with a program called "Joytokey". Its free but tricky to set up. it lets you set the buttons on the controller to buttons on the keyboard. so you could set shoulder buttons to mouse buttons, which shoot, like on Halo on Xbox.

The game itself does not support it though, but joytokey should let it be done.

Which is better, a controller or keyboard and mouse for gaming?

Mouse and Keyboard are big And unhandy for playing in Games as different games comes with different bindings of input on keyboard and mouse and this makes a gamer to learn the new Bindings of keyboard every time he plays a new game for e.g. In Prototype we can equip a gun with E button but in Ghost recon we need press F button to select a weapon or change them by the numbers instead of scroll wheel but this problem doesn’t occur in a controller or say Gaming Pad The bindings are almost same in Controller for every game This is a big Advantage.I would personally prefer only a controller for gaming and not Mouse and Keyboard for gaming purpose especially for those games which need a lot of focus and moves like Open World Games But for Simple controlling Games like racing and Running games you can use Keyboard as they don’t require a lot of movements and are simple to Play with keyboard also. But Controller is a best choice in all cases It gives Real Feel of a Game.Hope this Will help you in choosing a Better way of playing games. How long can XBox One Wireless Controller batteries last?

Just playing games, they will last around 16–18 hours total, depending on how long your sessions are. If you are using a headset, half that. Also depends on what the milliamp rating on the batteries is. (1,200 mAh dies much quicker that 2,000 mAh). Rechargable packs are a good option, but will eventually wear down, and not hold proper charge. Your best bet is to get a decent pack of AA batteries, and a longer USB cable. Once you plug it in, it cuts off the battery terminals, and works like a wired controller. Doing this, you can sit back and relax on you couch, chair, bed, etc., and not have to worry about killing your batteries, but having that option of unplugging if needed to move around the room while playing, or if you’re like some of those gamers that carry the controller into the bathroom with them when they go to piss, or into the kitchen to get food.

I can't play PC games without a controller!?

I downloaded "Steam" onto my laptop so I could play PC games. I wasn't really interested in doing so at first, but after a while, my friends convinced me it was cool. So I got this and downloaded "Steam", along with 4 other games. The games I got were not from "Steam" directly - I bought them from the store, but I accessed them/launched them with "Steam". Immediately, I hated it. I think a lot had to do with the controls especially since it's a laptop. I eventually gave up and decided to get a Philips computer controller. This was totally pointless. The controller worked, but it didn't let me do anything! Rather than allowing me to use the right analog stick as my "look-around" button, it was impossible to do so. Everything was just so horribly done with it. I want to be able to play the games, but I can't if I don't have a controller. I grew up with a controller in my hands, and don't want to switch back (so don't mention buying a keyboard and mouse). I am just wondering if anyone knows how to make it so that the controller feels right with the game. The game I really want to play is the PC version of Half-Life 2. I played this on the Xbox 360 (The Orange Box) and was in love with it. How can I make it so that the controls are similar to that? I know that there's an option menu to change the buttons, but in terms of mouse, there's nothing! Help?

How do I use a gamepad with my PC copy of Half-Life 2?

Half-Life 2 on SteamAccording to the link I provided above, Half-Life 2 only has partial controller support. It's entirely possible the controller you're trying to use, which I have no experience with, is just not compatible. I play with a KB/M for valve games because they're optimized for it, however I'm able to use an Xbox One controller for Half-Life 2 with no issues. You may need companion software for that Logitech controller to work with Half-Life 2.

Mouse and Keyboard or Controller, and why?

Controller because there is no hand cramps after continues play. Also because it gives a distinct advantage over keyboard and mouse because analog sticks are much easier to aim with. also all of the buttons are closer together and slightly faster to access which helps a lot when push comes to shove.

Half life 2 any good on ps3?

The Orange Box on PS3 was not developed or ported by Valve, it was developed by Electronic Arts. For the most part, they did a great job porting all of the complete games over. Half Life 2, including it's episodic sequels and Portal should work perfectly fine.

However, EA has not supported the game much beyond it's release. Including TF2 which hasn't received any patches. Don't worry about those TF2 patches, because the 360 version didn't get them either. Currently, only the PC version has all the patches and extra content whereas the console versions are still in the vanilla state of the game. I'm not sure how large the community for TF2 on PS3 is, but it's probably quite small.

Beyond TF2, the other games should work just fine.
