Has Anyone Been To El Rancho Supermercado

How can I tell if I'm at a good Mexican restaurant?

Growing up in Texas in the 70’s I’d always look for three things - Picture of the Pope on the wall, Picture of JFK and red plastic booth seats.I’d know I was getting real TexMex prepared by good hard working Catholic folk, there’d be plenty of it and it would be affordably priced. The thing with Mexican food, it’s beans, it’s rice, corn tortillas, chilis and a bit of meat here and there - inexpensive ingredients from a culture that traditionally doesn’t have a lot of money for expensive cuts of beef. Since it’s traditionally a low cost food, going into a Mexican restaurant with high prices only tells me I’m in the wrong place.Of course I’m flexible on the red plastic booth seats - they can sometimes be green if the restaurant specialized in green chili dishes. And you don’t see many pictures of JFK any more. But speaking of Presidents - I read in a biography of LBJ that on trips from DC back home to Austin, the first thing he did was go to Matt’s El Rancho (slogan: King of Mexican Food) and order chili rellenos. When I lived in Austin I’d go there on Fridays for rellenos imagining I’m eating a lunch fit for a President. The waiters never understood why I was sitting there talking to myself “Senator Dirksen you pompous bastard, pass me that damn salsa.” (LBJ had rather salty language). But the other posters are correct - there are many cuisines of Mexico - from personal experience, I consider there to be five regions of TexMex within Texas alone - there’s El Paso, heavy in New Mexico Hatch Chilis, Dallas I’ve never understood what those people are trying to do, Austin, which is inventive and down home at the same time, San Antonio, which you’d think would be like Austin cause it’s so close but it’s not, and Houston, where they do TexMex properly. And of course you could take your old ZZ Top Tres Hombres LP with you to the restaurant and open the foldout to check if what they’ve served looks like the picture above.

What is the Ebenezer Ranch in Redlands, CA?

When diving I saw it have about 5 zebras in just an old fashion horse style fenced in zone so it wasn't a zoo, so I tried looking it up and found nothing. Does anyone maybe know?

HELP- Spanish 2! VERB HELP! 10 POINTS! (If answered properly)?

.

Hola, Bubble:

This is very, very simple, you'll see.

In English there are two ways of talking about existence in the present tense:
• There is + singular noun (ONLY one thing)
• There is + plural noun (MORE than one thing)

In the past:
• There was + singular noun (ONLY one thing)
• There were + plural noun (MORE than one thing)

In Spanish, the verb 'haber' may have different meanings and uses.
When it means 'to exist' (= 'existir'), it functions as an impersonal verb, i.e., it is ALWAYS conjugated in the 3rd person singular, no matter how many things we are referring to.

• Then, in the present tense, there is ONLY ONE form: 'hay'. That's it.
• In the preterite there is also ONLY ONE form: 'hubo'.
• And in the imperfect tense, there is also ONLY ONE form: 'había'.

It is a piece of cake, isn't it?
