Has Anyone Had Any Experience With Tl Modeling Agency Are They Legit

Has anyone had any experience with TL modeling agency? Are they legit?

The web site is only 1 1/2 years old, which makes for a limited history. I didn't find obvious scam complaints, quite commonly, rather than making their revenue for the agent fees from paying jobs, these agencies are really more like trade schools charging for classes and photo shoots, the lower the admission requirements the more likely they are one of these schools.

The also own tiffanylavinmodeling.com

Is this a legit modeling agency?

The agency is called TL Modeling Agency and they make you pay $150 for the website profile (for maintenance and etc) and the contract is a non exclusive one for a year. I have to pay for my first photoshoot because I need to give them picture to put on the profile.

Modeling agency? Neal hamil?Scam?

I'm not familiar with that particular agency, but it sounds like they're running a scam. Lots of fake agencies do that -- usually in malls. That's just not how the modeling industry works, since it's impossible for anyone to know whether or not anyone walking in a mall is even capable of modeling. At least 90% of people with "model looks" aren't able to do the work. They're not uncommonly photogenic, don't take direction well, or can't overcome their self-consciousness when striking poses that range from unnatural to stupid.

If you're curious and want to find out whether the agency is legitimate, go ahead and meet with the agency's representative. If at any point you're told you need to attend classes or buy head shots, you'll know you're dealing with a fraud. Legitimate agencies NEVER ask for money up front, since they're paid on commission and earn a percentage of what models are paid for jobs. But all of the fake agencies (and there are many of them) need to get paid up front, since they're not the ones fashion industry people call when they're looking for models. They charge for classes, head shots and other promotional materials that are completely useless.

If at any point you're asked for money (or told that the initial part of the program is free -- since that means you'll be asked for money later), run away and don't look back! Fake agents build your hopes so high that you'll think it makes sense to pay them money. They're professional liars, basically. But no legitimate agent will ask you for money.

HELP... Should I pay $$900 for the Neal hamil modeling agency classes?

I'm 18 years old and I'm very interested in modeling so i applied online for the Neal hamil agency and they called me in for a an group interview and than 2 days later I got a call to come in again because I got approved by the agency, but I had to pay a deposit of 300, and 556 for the classes that I'll take, which adds up to basically 900. But it's this legit? Or something I should trust?

What are good modeling agencies in Houston, Texas?

Page Parkes is a school. Page 713 is their agency

And like Neal Hamil that has both a school and an agency if they really feel you are model material, they will sign you directly to the agency without making you pay for classes. If they tell you to take classes, it pretty much means they don't think you are model material and are not going to sign you.

Both are legitimate agencies -- they really are the only two agencies in Houston that book high profile jobs. But both have two sides to their business -- the school and the agency

Go see both agencies -- if they think you really are model material, they will sign you to the agency without making you pay for classes. When you go, have your parents make it very clear that you do not have money and you cannot pay for any classes and if they need you to take classes, then you can't join the agency. If the agency is really interested, they will sign you to the agency then if they want you to take classes they will pay for it and take the fees out of future money you earn

EDIT -- to add to the post below, Neal Hamil actually does have major clout on both coasts. Until 2010 he was Director of Elite Models in NY, prior to that he was Executive VP at Ford Models NY for 17 years, and now has started his own agency in his hometown of Houston. His agency acts as a "mother agency" scouting models in Texas and the Southwest and sending them mainly to Ford and Elite branches around the world as well as other top agencies. He is one of the best known, most connected and most influential people in the business.

How long does it take a model agency to contact you back?

Legitimate modeling agencies usually respond back to your submissions within a week or so. If it takes longer than a week, then your submission is most likely lost among others- because it didn’t stand out.Large agencies like the above Wilhelmina, receives hundreds if not thousands of photo submissions from new models per week. When and if they hold an open call, people will line up and wrap around the building… yes!, even if it is raining!!Yes, it is competitive. However, if agencies are interested in you, they will contact you in a timely manner. Time is money in this industry. To increase your chances of a response:Do your homework and submit relevant photos:It is possible to even receive the same day response from agencies if you do your homework. Before submitting to an agency, go to their website and see what kinds of models they represent. Look at their portfolio and compare it to yours. Don’t blindly send photos to people. Research which photos from your portfolio is more likely to be accepted by that particular agency. For example, the agency below responded to my email 2 hours after receiving it.What was my quick email pitch?I told them I had similar looking photos like the models they are already representing. I was ready to go on castings. I also told them that I could bring something new to their modeling board.Be Persistent and follow upIf you know you have good quality photos and an agency you submitted to hasn’t responded in a week… what should you do?Don’t Wait!Contact them again! Email them again, or call them directly to make sure they received it.Don’t take a back seat. People in this industry respect proactive and models who are focused on their goals.Hope that helps! :)For more information, please take a look at my free modeling school website.Home

Does anyone know anything about the Pastorini-Bosby agency?

We just signed my daughter with Pastorini-Bosby (PB). We called several agencies (in town and out of town) who never called back. Interestingly, I just got an e-mail today from one agency that never bothered to call me after we paid to attend a training with a top casting director (the agent never bothered to introduce herself to us or even ask about our daughter after we attended the clas).

We ran into that same well-regarded casting director recently and she was happy to see my daughter and was very curious to know where we landed. We were very glad to reconnect.

We have also attended a few of the questionable groups and casting calls - talked to a few friends in the business who alerted us to the scammers. You can tell who the "over-hyped" agencies are by the cattle call (hundreds of people show up and you get a sales pitch).

PB was the only one who called back and met with us to discuss our daughter's potential. Our daughter is only 7 and we are not expecting an overnight success (this business is a journey and as long as she enjoys it, we are working with her to work talents).

We completed PB's comprehensive package that explained everything we needed to know to get on their system and they sent us to two auditions the very next week. We have enjoyed the communication with the rest of the team. Most people that we have talked to seem to regard PB in high-regard.

Is Page Parkes Center of Modeling and acting a scam?

I'm guessing your in Houston TX (or around the area) since Page Parkes seems to do most of it's scouting around there.

Page Parkes is no different than Barbizon, JRP, Millie Lewis, Cassablancas or any of the other modeling schools out there. They want to sell you classes - not becuase they're interested in your talent but becuase they want your money.

I've been in the industry for 8 years now and I've not met a single model who's been taken by these kinds of companies who felt the overly inflated prices they paid were worthwhile in the end. Save your money, pass on these guys and find good reputable people to work with instead.

Any company passing as an agency who wants money up front for anything is a scam. If you're interested in modeling and really would like to get started visit OneModelPlace.com - it's a huge online community for the industry. You can network, find photographers in your area (some of which will help you build a portfolio for free) and depending on your area you may even find jobs there. Best of all, for models, it's free to join. As with anything on internet, DO YOUR RESEARCH! Check references before working with anyone and always bring someone with you to any shoot.

If you have any other questions feel free to contact me.
