Has Weed Screwed Me Up For Life

Weird feeling after quitting weed?

I quit smoking weed about 4 months ago. I used to smoke it only on a recreational basis, so like a few times a month, for about half a year. Me and my buddy both decided to quit because we have seen lots of our friends lives screwed up because of it. Along with quitting weed, i've also been partying and drinking less

Ever since i quit, i have had this messed up feeling, like im in a dream world or something, or that the passage of time has change, i dont know, its hard to explain. I have trouble focusing on things, and i have noticed that my memory has has slipped. My school work is unaffected, my marks are about the same as while i was still smoking, if not better. Also since i quit, ive seemed to have lost motivation to do things, whereas while i was still smoking i got all my university applications in, and a lot of scholarship entrances as well.

Are these mental changes somehow due to the marijuana? or is it some other psychological problem that i need to get checked out

How will smoking weed ruin your life?how does it?

If you smoke way too much you can get some longterm memory problems. It can also make you lazy. And if you get caught with it
it goes on your record and you could have some trouble getting a job depending on where you want to work because of it. But if you do it something like once a month it wont mess you up too bad.

I screwed up. I smoked weed and it stayed in my system for two months. What has it affected and how do I restore my neurotransmitters to healthy levels? My dopamine levels were lower at the end of two months. I smoked 1/4 gram of 18% thc marijuana.

You need to do more research.  It's possible that a receptor lowered the release of GABA.  Many people regularly supplement with  GABA for the calmness and relaxation.  If you are short on that amino acid, you could be feeling the anxiety you are expressing here.  I don't know why you think anything was done to your "neurotransmitters".  THC binds to specific Cannabinoid Receptors.  These reside in the brain, but also in lungs, liver, kidney, and possibly other locations that have yet to be identified.  Research on cannabis has been delayed and stunted since the 70's when Nixon made dirty deals and lied and misrepresented the findings of studies he himself had commissioned.  He decided to pander to special interests rather than advance quality of life and research into potent medication in the cannabis plant.  Your body has specific sites that attract and utilize cannabis.  They are there for a reason.  We are meant to use plants for many different reasons.  I suggest you read the wiki for "Cannabinoid Receptors".  Here's one quote. CB2 receptors are mainly expressed on T cells of the immune system, on macrophages and B cells, and in hematopoietic cells. They also have a function in keratinocytes. They are also expressed on peripheral nerve terminals. These receptors play a role in antinociception, or the relief of pain. In the brain, they are mainly expressed by microglial cells, where their role remains unclear. These receptors are where we see some of the healing action and pain relief provided when the receptors have been activated by cannabis.  We also read this. Activation of CB1 provides neuroprotection after brain injury. It is irrational to assume that a compound that protects brain cells (neurons) after brain injury would cause the sort of damage you seem to think you encountered.  Do you have any symptoms other than paranoia?  The wiki article talks about the GABA issue.  You may find something like this noticeable and assume it has some connection to Dopamine.  Instead of thinking of this as a "screw up", start by realizing it is just an experience and an opportunity to learn more about yourself and this plant.

Did you smoke weed in high school? If so, how often, and how did it impact your life? Do you still smoke?

Still in high school. i’m a Junior about to be a Senior. I never really wanted to do drugs. I still dont. I dont see the point. In my opinion if you need to use something be it Pot, Pills or whatever the fuck you do to be happy, relaxed or inspired, you have a problem.I’ll admit i’m not the most popular guy, my sense of humor is more dark, i’m not a ‘Fuck boy’ I dont listen to that shitty Trap/Mumble rap. I dont do drugs of any sorts. I dont even drink. Hell the closest thing to pill popping i’ve done is take like 5 Flintstones vitamins.I have a few resons I dont think I’ll ever try drugs.#1. My mom was a huge druggie growing up. She was like 47 still going out to party. When I was like 2–3 her and my dad would get so fucked up they’d crash for days. Leaving me and my sister un attended. FOR DAYS. My grandparents taught us how to dial the phone and they’d bring us over to their house.#2 It’s a waste of money. My best friend and the person I live with will buy a Dime every day and smoke. He’s spending like 70 a week on weed. He’s always asking to borrow money. He keeps telling me “Oh I want to buy an Xbox one” “I want this” “I want that” Like bro, stop smoking for x amount of days AND YOU CAN BUY IT.#3 I’m joining the United States Army. I want to be a Army Ranger(HIGH SPEED)To be a Ranger you have to be able to get a Secret security clearance. In order for that to happen you have to be clean. I care more about my future than said friend. (He wants to be a Ranger with me, but he wont quit smoking)#4 I dont want to put anything in my body that shouldn't be there. Anything that will alter my state of mind or being. I’m very happy with who I am. Sure I’m human and I have my insecurity but I dont need to do whatever to feel good about myself. When I feel happy, I’m happy for a reason, not because I had to smoke, drink or do something to make me that way. When I’m sad. I go out on a run. When I’m mad. Run.That being said, a lot of misfortunes are happening to me right now. Pretty depressing to most. I’m still happy when i’m surrounded by sadness. I’m happy to be up and breathing, each day being one step closer to my ultimate goal(SO HIGH SPEED)

My crush asked me if I wanted to smoke weed with him?

my crush convinced me to ditch gym class and hang out with him and we were walking and talking and I asked him how does it feel to be high (he told me he smokes weed all the time after school) and he said its fun and I should smoke it with him after school I quickly said no but i was getting some thoughts about it and he told me that you can control yourself you just laugh a lot and your really happy, I told him how my dad smoked weed once and he got addicted and it screwed up his life and he nearly died because of drugs and my crush said those were the bad kind weed is better for you than cigarettes and alcohol he didn't bug me about it after.

I don't want to screw up my life for a boy but I still have little voices in my head telling me its ok and I won't get addicted and a lot of sucky things are happening and it will all go away for that moment, which I'm scared about, for a while everytime something went wrong I took inhalents like rubbing alcohol and stuff and everytime I was upset I did it but I stopped.

BQ: I told him how this guy wanted me to give him a ******* and he's like omg really did you do it and I said no but I actually did (the guy manipulated a situation i wasn't drunk or on drugs though) I didn't want him to think I was a slut but he was like that's lame you should've done it, how is that lame and why did he want me to do it?

*he's actually really sweet, nice and a gentleman (especially for a teen)

How can marijuana mess up or ruin your life and future when used illegally?

I heard stories from people how marijuana screwed up their lives. I heard these people in college would get up every morning Smoke a joint go out during lunch smoke a joint after their classes were done they would smoke a joint and after dinner they would smoke the rest of the night. I hear this person got addicted to heroin by smoking a joint laced with it that a drug dealer gave him. I heard of kids who smoked when they were 12 and 13 and now they r 20 and living on the streets cause of it. I read stories how marijuana and along with cocaine ruined their life and had a Friends mom who started smoking marijuana and drinking alcohol in 8th grade now shes grown up living on the streets doing weed and alcohol along with coke. I also heard allot of other stories to about it. So will marijuana really ruin your life and one thing that goes with all those stories that i typed here is the description is that they all did in in their teen years. and also please dot lie about anything here cause i wont ever know if you are telling the truth or not so give me a full straight out honest answer.

Mom doesn't care about me smoking weed?

I'm exactly in the same boat as you, I'm also 16 as well. My mom found out I was smoking weed and grounded me for 2 weeks without anything to my room. Once I was ungrounded I didn't smoke for a while and then started doing it again and when she found out that she basically gave up on me. She smoked weed at my age too. I only smoke on the weekends, so it's not like I'm smoking everyday. There is absolutely nothing wrong with smoking weed. You won't become a low life or screw up your life unless you let it happen. Cigarets and alcohol is worse then weed, it's been proven. The only reason why people that smoke aren't successful is because it's not legal in many states. Don't listen to the people that make you feel like **** about smoking. As for you mom she most likely has given up on you, just talk to her and let her know how you feel. Everything will be okay!

How did using drugs change your life?

Ive done just about everything. Toke, drink, tripped a ton, got hooked on opiates and messed with a lot of coke and ketamine and plenty of other stuff. I don’t regret anything in my life. Overall drugs made me a better person. More insightful, creative, open minded, confident, took me out of my comfort zone to grow, helped me build a stronger mentality in general. Sure there were down sides and some legal trouble but even the things that seemed really bad at the time served a purpose in my life to make me stronger or align certain circumstances for the best. I've had plenty ups and downs, but that is just life! whether you live sober or use drugs. They were a big catalyst to the person I am today, and I’m happy with who I am. Thats the most important thing. As of now I dont use that many drugs anymore. But I will never quit for good, they are gifts from nature. The most important thing to take note on is that MODERATION IS KEY. The only times I've had issues is when I would abuse. Moderate usage and if it becomes an addiction that causes issues in your life then quit and get help. Remember to tread lightly. Also its very important to thoroughly research any substance before you decide to put it in your body. Just be smart. Life is about the journey not the destination.

Messed up my brain with 5 years of ssri and weed. Will it ever return to normal?

What was your life like while you were on medication/weed?The brain is a very flexible organ, and you should not underestimate the impact of your daily life on the way it functions. You train it, like a muscle. If you didn't talk to people much, your talking muscle is really weak. If you dropped out of school (and don't learn anything otherwise), your learning muscle is tiny. And so on.So, it might just be that your brain needs to kick back into gear. I've also been on SSRIs and weed (the first on and off for 4 years, the second longer than that), and I've been both more "awake" and "sleepier", depending on how I was leading my life at the time. In retrospect, what I am on didn't matter that much. All in all, yes, I think your brain will return to "normal", if you keep using it. I've done multiple IQ tests with a difference of as much as 12 points. Nothing about your body is static, everything will improve if you exercise it and take good care of it.(Oh, and make sure you're eating healthy. I cannot describe in words the difference this makes. There is no specific diet I recommend, other than get rid of anything processed. Even at a healthy weight, this can help you feel so much better.)
