What has been your experience with prozac 10mg did it help?
To be completely honest with you I hated it! It made me mean, angry all the time, hateful, rude to others. When I am a very outgoing, friendly, loving, caring person. I would want to fight people for no reason at all. It was like I was this whole other person. The doctor took me off of it, and in about a week (long enough for it to get out of my system) I was back to my old self again. There isn't enough money on this planet to make me take Prozac ever again. It was the worst experience with a medication I have ever had. Sorry for the downer, but that was just my experience. You can read the side effects and it can cause irritability, agitation...etc. Just a heads up on that. Good luck to ya sweetie. Hugs, Lesli
Has anyone had bad side effects from taking fluoxetine? (Prozac)?
I had many years of withdrawal syndrome from Prozac and other similar medications. It has been 8 years since I quit Prozac and I am still disabled and suffering greatly.There were some disturbing side effects while taking SSRIs such as Prozac, but not as bad as the withdrawal syndrome, which has nearly killed me in multiple ways and has been the worst pain and most severe sickness of my entire life.All the people who died from taking Prozac probably consider their side effects pretty bad. And the people who suffered abortions, or lost their kid to a murder committed due to Prozac or an accident caused by Prozac. The people, like me, who are going through many years of withdrawal are not very pleased, either.Sexual dysfunction (PGAD, impotence, genital anaesthesia, etc), insomnia, chemical hypersensitivity, tinnitus, eyesight problems, amnesia, Parkinson's, dyskinesias, psychological conditions (mania, depression, psychosis, anxiety, etc), metabolic disorders, and many other side effects of antidepressants like Prozac can continue indefinitely, even after discontinuing the drugs causing the problems.If you are one of the very few people who experiences net benefits from Prozac, perhaps even without the incidence of serious acute side effects, you are quite lucky and should not let the bad experiences of most people keep you from pursuing what you feel is the best way to treat. Do keep in mind that some side effects are invisible (like increased risk of heart-related deaths) or do not happen for years or until you decide to try to taper off, but don't generalize the good or bad experiences of other patients as determining your own treatment outcomes.
Are these normal side effects of taking prozac?
I've been on 10 mg of delayed-release capsules of prozac, once a day since Sunday. I have been still experiencing anxiety, heart palpitations after taking the medication and after waking up, upset stomach and muscle cramps. I told my doctor of the heart palpitations and she told me that 'I had them before' ... I'm wondering if this is a severe reaction to prozac? I've also been feeling tired, too. A month ago I went to the doctor because I was having palpitations and was under a lot of stress and the doctor told me that it was anxiety. I was having palpitations, however, my blood pressure was normal, my EKG was normal, my oxygen levels were normal, I had bloodwork done a month ago which was normal, I had a chest x-ray which the doctor said looked perfect, and I saw a cardiologist who told me that I was probably experiencing stress. please tell me if these are normal symptoms of taking prozac for only a few days. thank you.
Has anyone experienced Blackouts while using Prozac?
A very good friend on mine is experiencing total black-outs from using 80 mg of Prozac a day. I have advised them to stop taking it and contact their physician. Anyone else seeing this with this medication???
