Headache Bad From Snorting A Xanax

Headache bad from snorting a xanax?

So I snorted 2mg xanax...now my head in the back region hurts like hell...it feels like there is extreme pressure.it won't go away its been 24 hours please help...ps I have bad allergies but never feel it in the back of the head.

Does Xanax help with chronic pain?

It might to some extent, since it’s a benzodiazepine, a family of drugs that have muscle relaxing properties. Some chronic pain is associated with uncontrolled spasticity and muscle relaxants are treatment for that.Pain treatment specialists use many medications, such as antidepressants and antiseizure drugs, for the effects they have on nerve conduction of pain. Frequently some type of muscle relaxant is part of the combination. The goal is to use as little medication as necessary, and combining small doses of several drugs working at different parts of the pain pathway is often more effective than larger doses of only one or two.Pain control treatment typically will use meds as one component of the program, along with physical therapy, appropriate exercise, relaxation, and group psychotherapy. If a patient does 10 things and each one reduces pain by 5–7%, it adds up.But, back to xanax. It works very well, kicks in very fast, lasts for a short time, then wears off fast, leaving many people more anxious than before. Sudden bursts of relief followed by rapid return of the pain is exactly what you don’t want in chronic pain treatment. Valium was a standard for a long time, now most places use klonopin. Lasts 8-10 hours, gradual onset, gradual decline.TL/DR: maybe it helps a little for a while, but there are much better alternatives.

Why doesn't snorting my drugs work anymore?

Okay first of all:“Drugs doesn't go to your brain directly from your goddamn nose” !!Simply, by snorting, you get drugs into the bloodstream and bypass the liver (the first time your blood circulates), gives you faster effects. But if you swallow drugs, they are absorbed through your gut then go to your liver for detox, this is called first pass metabolism.Hardcoded explain:You snort some shit. The mucous membranes inside your nose/sinus abosorb the chemical into your bloodsteam. You mucus stops "most" of it going into your lungs and therefore traps in against the mucus producing cells allowing it time to "soak through".The blood in the nasal membrane is very close to the surface. This is why absorbtion is easy. However it is also easy to cause damage. That's why you did bleed from your nose.(probably it wasn't your period, it was something wrong you did to your nose). What did actually happens is the micro-granuals of the powder scrape against the delicate lining, caused some tearing to it. The powder also drys out the mucus glands, this means that prolonged use can prevent the drug working as effectively. If you can't produce mucus then the powder cannot enter your bloodsteam via. aqeuous solution."For a substance to be effective when insufflated, it must be water soluble so it can be absorbed into the mucous membranes." - WikiQuote

How dangerous is it to mix Benadryl and Xanax?

As a trained medical professional I always look at the worst case scenario just in case.  How dangerous could it possibly be?  It could possibly prove to be fatal depending on how much of each you take and if you were drinking on top of it, and if you have a condition such as Obstructive Sleep Apnea and fell asleep while on the combination of meds.  You see, Xanax and Benadryl are both central nervous system (CNS) depressants. They can slow both your respiratory and heart rate.  Alcohol is a CNS depressant as well. For that matter, so are opiates such as Vicodin and Oxycontin.  It is possible to depress your central nervous system right to death without even trying very hard.  True story:  I was working in a hospital a few years back and a gentleman came into our ER after suffering a painful injury.  He was given opiates for his pain.  Opiates make you drowsy.  A couple hours later another nurse saw him, and because he was still in pain she gave him more opiates.  This made him really drowsy now and he fell asleep.  Nobody checked on the gentleman for a couple hours, and when they did he was dead.  Why?  He had Obstructive Sleep Apnea, which means the structures in his upper airway close when he falls asleep and he needs a machine called a CPAP to keep his airway open so he doesn't choke to death.  Normally, when our bodies realize we are choking, our brains send out a signal to start coughing and moving around a bit to open up that airway a little so we can breath again.  With his central nervous system so depressed, that natural reflex didn't work and the man choked to death in his sleep.  There was hospital error in this case in that they gave him too much opiate based medicine and failed to put him on his required CPAP machine.  My long winded rambling point?  Nine out of ten times mixing a little benadryl and your regularly prescribed dose of Xanax won't hurt you.  I've done it myself when the pollen count got high, and I lived to tell the tale.  Yours is a more complicated question than it may appear on the surface.  Discuss it with your doctor before taking the two.  Your physician may recommend another antihistimine or tell you flat out never to mix the two.  Better safe than sorry.

What happens if you snort Acetaminophen?

You won't get high, if that's what you're looking to do, on plain acetaminophen.I haven't met anyone who's done this and, because of my job, I've met literally thousands of drug users who were very open about what they used and the route. If you're using it for pain, it's not an effective route. People complain of having a burning sensation after trying it (this is third- or fourth-hand information) with no pain relief and no high.Acetaminophen is one of those medications that, IMHO, has little use. Great for relieving fever in children. Less than effective for pain relief in adults, although ibuprofen works well. When I worked with disturbed teenagers and adults, I saw many a Tylenol OD. This is potentially lethal and the damage to the liver can be enormous — and no liver, no life. The medication, Mucomyst (acetylcysteine), for treatment is horrible. It's one of the foulest smelling substances I've ever come across — and you need 17 doses. So fuhgettaboudit.**Deepest NY/NJ for "forget about it."

Will snorting Vyvanse powder give me the same effect as if I take it orally through a liquid or food? Will it even work if I snorted it?

Vyvanse is meant to be an “extended release” medication. The capsule is structured to “melt” in your body and release its contents over time. Therefore, snorting it may not be the optimal way to ingest it, as you will consume all of the contents simultaneously. I’d imagine that would be dangerous as well.

Should i snort ritalin before prom?

Great idea. Snort all you have. So we never have to hear stupid questions again. Kthanksbye.

I think it is a Xanax overdose. How long will this last?

I am with a friend who I believe has overdosed on Xanax. I know he has been taking (orally and snorting) Xanax all day. I'm not sure how many he has had. I also know he has been drinking. He has possibly been shooting up Roxys. I don't know what else he has done and I'm not sure of how much of the Xanax and alcohol he has consumed.
He came in about 2 and a half hours ago saying his head hurt worse than any headache of his life. His eyes were dilated and bright red. He was having trouble walking and slurring his words. He laid down and went to sleep. He has been sleeping now for about 2 and a half hours, waking up periodically to throw up. He has a fever but complains he is freezing (I have covered him up with a blanket.) He is breathing very heavy.
I do believe he has overdosed on Xanax and I know the alcohol intensifies it. I plan on staying up with him all night. I know to keep him on his side. I was just wondering how long this would last until he is safe. I know you can't be sure but I would just like an estimate please if anyone has been through this.
If things change I will immediately seek medical attention for him.

Will a Xanax help take away a meth high?

In most cases yes. Lower doses (0.5 - 1 mg) are great for getting rid of the anxiety, paranoia and some other side effects from the meth. At higher doses (1 mg and up) it’s best for coming down to help you sleep. Doses of course depends on the person’s tolerance.Just a personal advice: Don’t overdo it with the Xanax. Since it gets rid of the nasty side effects you might want to do more meth, then take some more Xanax to take the edge of and so on. I used them to the point where Xanax started having paradoxical effects on me - meaning instead of helping me sleep, it made me more awake and tweaked.

Why do people snort Vyvanse?

“Vyvanse is the brand name of a medication prescribed to treat attention-deficit/ hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and binge eating disorder (BED)1. This substance is a central nervous system (CNS) stimulant that interacts with several neurotransmitter systems in the brain. It will boost alertness, attention levels, and energy in those who consume it. This substance is similar to other prescription stimulants such as Adderall and Ritalin2,3:Vyvanse is a prodrug stimulant, which means it is inactive until it is metabolized in the body. Here’s how this works: Vyvanse is comprised of lisdexamfetamine dimesylate which—unlike many other stimulants—becomes active only after being chemically modified by enzymes in the bloodstream. When metabolized, the lisdexamfetamine in Vyvanse is converted to dextroamphetamine (a potent stimulant) and l-lysine (a natural amino acid)3. By requiring enzymatic conversion to the active prodrug once it has been absorbed into the blood from the GI tract, Vyvanse offers a completely different method of time-release compared to other stimulants. Rather than relying on special coatings to slow the effects, Vyvanse achieves its results due to its slow, enzymatic-controlled rise in concentration of active drug in the blood3. This unique feature and resulting lack of a quick onset “high” could deter attempts to abuse the medication via methods such as crushing and snorting the pill3. However, that does not mean that recreational Vyvanse users do not commonly attempt to snort and inject the drug to achieve a stronger high.”izzy xo
