Headaches And Neck Pain Help

Bad headache and neck pain, help?

You have tight neck muscles causing your pains. The neck muscles go to the top of your head where they connect to muscles going around your head. When the neck muscles get tight they pull the head muscles into pain and that's your headache. The pain on the back of your head is right off the muscles themselves. The nerves for your eyes go to the back of your head passing next to the neck muscles. When the muscles are tight they can press into the nerves to cause pains on the back of your eyes. More pressure will cause the pupils to dilate to make you sensitive to light. The tight neck muscles are pressing into your throat with enough pressure to cause the problems you have there. When the neck muscles are tight they are restricting the blood flow out of your head and it backs up into your head giving you all that extra pressure you are feeling there. To get rid of these problems you have to free up your neck muscles and here's how to do that:
Neck
Put your hands alongside your head so your thumbs are on the front of the muscle under your ear and your fingers are on the back of the muscle behind your neck. Squeeze your thumb and fingers together and hold. Relax your body. After about 30 to 45 seconds, when you don’t feel the muscles releasing any longer, slowly lower your head as far as you can, release the pressure but hold your neck lowered for another 30 seconds. repeat if needed.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.

Tension headaches & pain in neck?

I'm 16, i just started going back to school 3 weeks ago.
my problem is, i get terrible headaches and pain in my neck, shoulders, and back from having to tilt my head & neck down at my desk all day.

Even though i'm short, i still have to kinda hunch slightly to do work.
Its really a pain when im taking notes from the board- i have to look up then hunch back over again.

It's pretty much unavoidable.
But is there any way i can make these headaches go away?
I've tried advil, it doesn't seem to work.

What is the best pain killer for headache and neck pain?

I would really recommend not to ask for medical advice from random strangers on the internet. Instead, give your doctor a call.Overall, paracetamol and NSAIDs in normal doses are relatively harmless, but they have some contraindications. We don't know if you have any of these… Similarly, we don't know why you may have these pains. Different causes can have different treatments. In some cases, painkillers are fine, in other the pain can be caused by underlying conditions. So give your doctor a call, and ask for recommendation from him/her.

Postpartum headaches and neck pain?

Headaches are quite common which can disturb your vision. Your headaches are spinal headache's that seems to be related when you have had any spinal intrusion ( this can occur, most especially if you have had a spinal tap ).After a spinal procedure, people are advised to not sit up for, at least 24-48 hours because it will cause severe headaches. This will account for the pain in your neck. But, since you all ready have an appt. with your Doc., this is the best way to determine the cause. Have you tried taking any Motrin/Advil ( Ibuprofen ) to alleviate the headaches?? You are on the right track .However, if your symptoms persist or worsen. then go to the ER. You may need a medical evaluation prior to seeing your Doc next week. I hope that this helps some.

Where is the boundary between neck pain and a headache?

A neck pain is usually a muscle pain. It can easily be remedied by physical therapy.A headache is usually a pain of the nerve. It is difficult to cure a headache by physical therapy.

Tension headache with neck and jaw pain too?

Stress of any kind is no good- so many people carry their stress in their neck, upper shoulders, and jaw area. First off, you must deal with the stress in your life. Certain activities like exercise are very important-other things like acupuncture, yoga, massage, even chiropractic can really help you and give you some pain relief.

Chiropractic can help with tension headaches- You might also want to try specific natural headache pain remedies- such as the Halo Rejuvenator or the Healthy Neck System. Getting a good cervical neck pillow will also ensure that there is minimal stress on the neck and that you are in the correct position for sleeping. Because you have jaw pain, you might want to get a special type of pillow - certain cervical support neck pillows have a center in the middle which is really good for back sleepers.

I would not take aspirin for this, as it is only going to mask the symptoms that you are experience. Especially long term, this is not a wise idea.

Finally, neck exercises done everyday in the a.m will be of great benefit to you: http://www.arc4life.com/site/615058/page/993935
Just do these neck stretches to the point that you feel a stretch in the cervical spine and follow that up with some moist heat. You can also do them in the shower as well.

Hope this helps you out.

Can neck and shoulder pains cause headaches?

Absolutely. As you can imagine, neck is what connects your head to your body. So, if you have neck pain (or shoulder pain), the high chance is you'll suffer from headache too. All these little muscles and tendons in your shoulders and neck not only support your head but also help your spine be healthy. If muscles work bad, spine puts pressure on them and on veins and blood vessels. So, you can begin to have a serious headache - either from getting not enough oxygen or from having neurons in your muscles and other tissues squished by vertebrae. If you have headaches  and your neck or shoulders hurt too much, visit a doctor. You need a good physical therapist or chiropractor or maybe acupuncturist. In any case, it may be serious. I would definitely go to a PT clinic if I were you.
