Healthy Breakfast On-the-go Ideas

What are some healthy breakfast ideas?

My current breakfast habits are making garlic bread (I love it!), snacking on chips, sometimes I'll eat leftovers from dinner which is normally from eating out.

I don't like cold cereal at all! Or toast really. I don't have much time in the morning to make pancakes or waffles which aren't healthy anyways.

Thanks for any suggestions, I'm really excited at becoming healthier. =]

Healthy Breakfast Ideas for Toddlers?

I make pancakes for my son in large batches so that during the week, all I have to do is heat them up and his breakfast is ready. Here's what I put in them:

1/2 cup oatmeal (uncooked)
1/2 cup diced, cooked apple (very small pieces)
1/2 cup pumpkin
1/4 cup splenda
1-2 tsp cinnamon (per taste)
1-2 tsp nutmeg (per taste)
1 egg
1 cup bisquick
1/2 cup milk

Mix it all up. Your batter will be very thick. You can add water, and I usually do, but add it 1 tbsp at a time or so. I've made the mistake TOO OFTEN of adding too much water and then they get runny, lol.

Also, the nutritional value of these is about 100 calories per 1/4 cup of batter.

My son LOVES these and with the oatmeal, pumpkin and apples, I know he's getting some good nutrients. He can also take these on the go!

What are ideas for a healthy breakfast on the go, excluding bread?

How about a colorful breakfast in a jar? This one is my hands down favorite breakfast option. It’s portable, healthy, delicious, and so pretty to look at :)And here’s what you will need to make one yourself.A little time: about 5 minutesA container: I use a Mason jar (but any jar or glass container with a lid will do)Ingredients:1/2 cup Greek yogurt (my favorite brands are Chobani and Fage)1 tablespoon granola1 tablespoon nuts (walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts, cashews, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds)1 cup fresh fruit (banana, pineapple, cantaloupe, berries, grapefruit, oranges, apples, tangerines, kiwi, papaya, fresh coconut, mango, persimmon)1 teaspoon of dried fruit - optional (dates, raisins, figs, apricots, cranberries)cinnamonInstructions:Slice or dice your fruit.Layer the ingredients (yogurt, fruit, granola, nuts) in a mason jar or glass container; sprinkle cinnamon on top; close with a lid.If you have a long commute, put your breakfast in the freezer for 20 minutes while you are getting ready to leave home; this will keep your jar cool on the way to school or work. And now for the benefits:This breakfast is balanced, light, and filling. It includes a combination of protein and healthy fats (from the yogurt and nuts), as well as a large dose of your recommended daily vitamins (from the fruit). Together, these ingredients can help you feel alert, energized, and ready to face your day. I actually look forward to assembling my breakfast every morning; it's become a habit and a part of my morning routine!

What's a good and healthy breakfast?

There are a few things...

like

Eggs ( packed with protein and keeps you full)

Cereal ( with skim milk and cereals that's whole grain with not alot of sugar)

Just a simple fruit ( Good with vitaman C like a apple, bannana, and ect.)

Do NOT drink smoothies
because when you chew it tells the brain you are full
which means if you drink something you will get hungrier faster

What are healthy foods you can eat for breakfast?

Healthy breakfast foods all have a few things in common. They are low in sugars and high in fiber, as well as protein. Eating a sugary breakfast can set you up for snacking through the morning until lunch, while giving you a brief burst of energy that does not last. Breakfast foods that are high in fiber and protein will provide a slow release of energy to power you through the morning until lunch time.

People who find themselves running late in the morning should think about preparing part of breakfast the night before. Chop up some fruit for salad, make hard boiled eggs, or squeeze juice. In the morning, you can eat these breakfast foods or pack them up with you to take to work. A stock of healthyhealthyhealthy breakfast foods such as whole grain breads for toast, high fiber granolas, fresh fruit, yogurt, hot cereals, and eggs should also be kept readily available. If you keep healthy breakfast foods in the house rather than unhealthy foods which are high in fat and sugar, it will encourage you to eat a healthy breakfast.

Many people have difficulty eating when they first wake up, which can pose a challenge to eating a healthyhealthyhealthy breakfast. If this is the case, a glass of unsweetened juice and a slice of toast should be eaten in the morning, and more substantial fare could be packed to be eaten later. Examples of packed foods could include peanut butter, which is high in fiber and protein, healthy granola bars, and fresh whole fruit.

Packaged breakfast foods can be an excellent option for healthy breakfasts on the go, but be aware of nutritional content. Many cereals and breakfast bars are laden with fats and sugars. Try to stick with unsweetened whole grain produces, and make sure to read ingredient labels carefully, looking for high protein and fiber, along with a rich vitamin content. If a cereal is not sweet enough for your tastes, try adding fresh fruit to it. It is also important to mix up your breakfast foods, to keep things interesting and nutritionally varied.

Healthy Breakfast for teens?

This answer is a bit long, so bear with me. :)

Counting calories is not healthy. Restricting your diet puts your body into 'survival mode', and it will cling on to every bit of fat and energy it can get. Eating a healthy, balanced meal will improve your overall health significantly.

Bananas are great foods, but alone won't give you enough sustenance for the morning. This is a bit tricky to explain, so let's see how I do: when sugars enter your bloodstream you get a rush of energy that disappears quickly - if you haven't had anything else to sustain your body then you'll start to feel tired and moody once the rush wears off. Sugars aren't limited to actual sugar - they're found in most fruits and carbohydrates (bread, cereal, etc) convert into sugar quickly.

To avoid the 'rush/wear off' effect you need to eat protein, which breaks down more slowly and gives you a steady supply of energy for several hours. Protein is found in meat and eggs. It can also be formed by eating carbohydrates and nuts together - such as bread with peanut butter.

Still eat fruit, but try to get some protein at the same time. Also drink a glass of water (which you're already doing - great!) as you're dehydrated in the morning. Fat is not as bad for you as it's often portrayed - as long as you're getting natural fat (such as milk or cheese) it's quite good for you in moderation.

A healthy breakfast would be along the lines of two eggs, water, a piece of fruit and a slice of toast if you're still hungry (wholemeal is infinitely better for you than white).

I hope this helps. Good luck! :)
