Hello I Have A 150 Gallon Aquarium And It Has A Built In Overflow I Was Wondering If I Could Get

New 75 Gallon Salt Water Aquarium?

what you have is an aquarium that came pre drilled. Basically you have no choice but to use a sump filter... which is the best for a saltwater tank. Genreally you want a sump filter that is 1/3 of the tank size to prevent overflowing. You need to set up the degero stand pipe and get a marine land over flow kit and set it up. you really need to set up this, i will send you an email with youtube videos of this.

Anyway, basically after you have the plumbing done, you will need to set up the sump filter. generally it depends if you want to make your own or buy one that is set up already, again plumbling i cant help you with first hand, but i will send you plenty of videos of this.

For the aquarium, you want to wash it, make sure it doesnt leak and drain it. add live sand around 1 pound per gallon, set up the filter etc.. for this size you also want to get a power head for added current.

Then mix your saltwater genreally outside of the tank. freshwater and buffer and the salt mix, use the hydrometer to measure the salinity and specific gravity of the tank. 1.020-1.025 specific gravity or 33PPT

after you have the water and get your filters running you want to add live rock around 1 pound per gallon.

Thne you want to wait to cycle the aquarium for 2-4 weeks and after your water levels check out you can start adding fish.

For corals you want to have the tank established for 4-8 months and upgrade the lighting to T5, MH or power compacts.

email if you have any other questions, i will email you videos now.

I want to set up a saltwater aquarium, I want to be able to slowly invest in the system?

Hello, so I will need a 20 gallon tank for the filter/req? How about 2 10s side by side? One dedicate to the req with just a single outlet and the other treating the water before it gets there?

What is the function of cycling? And I was not planning on putting anything living in there for a long time, just wanted to start getting the equipment and building, as I also plan on building the base too...I love wood working!

I love fish but I wasnt planning on getting any until the aquarium was 100% ready, the same goes for coral.

However, when I cycle, do I do so with the rock and sand in place? If I test my local bottled/distilled water and its quality is good, will that be good enough for the aquarium?

Please dont assume that I am trying to rush to get it fish ready, nothing will go in it until its been running and circulating without growth and within acceptable limits for at least a couple months.

What happens when you overfill the radiator reservoir tank?

Not much will happen in most cars. As the liquid heats it will expand & run out the overflow tube. This might happen a few times but sooner or later it will get down to the proper level.Keep an eye on the coolant level that too much doesn't overflow out. If it gets low when the engine is cool add a wee bit to bring it to the proper level. And remember: be sure to read the instructions carefully … some 'antifreeze' is premixed, while some brands come full strength. The unmixed coolant doesn't absorb & transfer heat as well as properly mixed coolant. If your coolant is full strength mix water with the coolant in the amount shown on the jug's instructions panel. If already pre-mixed don't dilute further. Finally, if you're putting new coolant in the cooling system don't forget to open the heater control to fully open when you drain the old coolant, then leave it open when adding the new coolant.. The heater core inside the cabin is like a second radiator … heated coolant flows from the engine to the heater core & transfers heat from the coolant into the cabin. Failing to open the heater control can cause air to enter the cooling system which can result in engine overheating, possibly causing a blown head gasket or even a cracked block or head.

A water tank has the following dimensions: length = 1 meter, width = 80 cm, height = 120 cm. How many liters of water can it store?

Volume=length * width * heightLength=1mWidth=80 cm =0.8 mHeight=120 cm = 1.2mSo volume=[math]1*0.8*1.2[/math]=0.96 [math]m^3[/math]Now 1 [math]m^3[/math] = 1000 literSo 0.96 [math]m^3[/math]= 960 liter

Can I install a septic tank riser by myself?

Yes there are 3 types you could chose from concrete which is rather heavy and also with a concrete lid that would need to be lifted each time you need to access the tank for pumping, then there's polyethylene but it is difficult to seal the connection around the tank with this and could cause problems if the tank overflows, finally pvc which is lightweight and easy to install and forms a good seal around the tank but is expensive, contractors could install it for you but if you want to cut down on costs and know where the tank is dig out the area for the riser yourself and then have them install it and you can back fill it then yourself otherwise they'll charge for digging out the area,so there are your options, good luck.

125 gallon fish tank?

The only thing that can be a problem for you here is that it is a pre drilled tank. The pre drilled tanks are made to have overflow box's and sump filtration systems. So if this dose not come with all this then you will have to get all the things needed to set it up for that type of filtration. There are many good things about having a sump filter, but you will need to know how one works and how to set it up. The problem with it being pre drilled is that there is no good safe way of sealing the holes that are drilled into the tank, so if you do not want to run that type of filter setup you will be forced into having it anyway.

As far as the age of the tank, you should be fine, I got a 150 gallon tank second hand and it hadn't been in use for many years, I didn't reseal it because it looked in good shape, and it has been fine. 10 years isn't that old for a tank, and depending on how long it was in use before that, you should be ok and not have to do anything to it. It may be a good idea though to set it up outside and fill it and let it sit for a day or two, the only problem there though will be again, the pre drilled holes, if there is no over flow box then the water will just leak out the holes drilled in it. Make sure when you get it to check the seals real well and make sure all the silicone is still in good shape and not deteriorating.

This sounds like a geat deal though, and to get one new would cost you a lot more than this, so it is definatly worth it in my opinion. If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me.

A water tank is 3 m long, 2 m wide and 1 m high. How many litres can be stored in it?

First, let’s find the volume of the tank. This is a little tricky because it depends on what shape the water tank is. In this case, I will assume it’s cubic. We know the volume of a object is represented by the equation V=LWH, which tells that the volume is the product of the length, the width, and the height. In this case, the tank is 6 cubic meters.Although we found the volume, this is not the answer we’re looking for because we’re trying to find how many liters are in the tank, not cubic meters. The dictionary defines liter as equal to “1,000 cubic centimeters.” In that case, we convert the cubic meters to cubic centimeters, leaving us with 6,000,000 cubic centimeters. With our prior definition, we can divide 6,000,000 by 1,000 to get 6,000.Finally, assuming the tank is cubic, there can be at most 6,000 liters in a 3 x 2 x 1 tank.

Why does the gas pump keep stopping when my tank isn’t full?

Question: “Why does the gas pump keep stopping when my tank is not full?”I have owned and worked on and built high performance engines since the 1960’s.Although it is possible that your car’s filler tube is damaged and restricted, that would have been caused either by an accident or by the removal and improper re-installation of the gas tank. If so, you would be aware of the problem, and it is unlikely you would be asking the question on Quora. The more likely explanation is that the vapor recovery system on the car is damaged. This system vents the fuel vapors from the fuel tank into a canister filled with absorbent granulated charcoal and then into the engine intake manifold, preventing the gases from venting off into to air and adding to pollution. (Older cars did vent gas fumes directly into the atmosphere. That is why you can smell raw gas at any display of classic cars.)In a modern car, if these fumes are not vented off, pressure will build up as you try to fill your gas tank, especially if you are doing so quickly. When the pump nozzle assembly senses this increased pressure it registers it as a full or nearly full tank and shuts off the flow of the gasoline from the pump to the nozzle. Think of that like trying to quickly fill a Coke bottle with water from a quickly flowing kitchen faucet. The air in the bottle has to escape before the liquid can go in.There are several points where the Evaporative Emissions Control System on your car could fail and create the problem you are experiencing. Vacuum lines might have been pinched or damaged. The solenoid valve may be sticking. But the most likely problem is that you have a clogged or damaged EVAP Canister.Your EVAP Canister looks like this,or like this.It is located in the engine compartment, low in the chassis, probably at the front. Why did the Evaporative Emissions Canister fail? Well, you broke it. Or someone else who fuels the car broke it.Did you ever continue to add gas to the tank, in an effort to add another gallon, after the nozzle clicks off? Well, in doing so you flooded the EVAP Canister by forcing liquid gasoline up lines that were meant to handle vapors. You saturated the charcoal media within the EVAP canister and prevented it from acting as a vapor recovery/transfer media.Your fueling problem can be resolved by replacing the EVAP Canister. Unfortunately, these things can be expensive.
