Help Blurry Vision Suddenly/on Computer

Why is my vision blurry all of a sudden?

I haven't done anything unusual...

I mean, I arrived at summer school about two weeks ago, and it was fine for the first week, and all of a sudden, when I woke up one day (second week), my vision was a bit blurry. I thought it was just the eye gunk you get in the morning, so I washed my face, but it was still blurry. Throughout the whole day and even right now, my vision is blurry.

Some details:

- I can usually see people's faces clearly, if they're across the room, but these days I can't see their facial details properly. I can tell people apart, but it's hard to see their facial details properly.
- Since I have nothing to do in my free time, I usually watch YouTube videos or go on Twitter. Basically, I stay on the internet for about....four hours (not consecutively, just adding up). This isn't my usual habit, I usually don't stay on the computer or watch TV often. I've been doing this ever since I arrived here, so it's been about two weeks of doing that.
- My eyesight is usually perfect, I've never had a need to wear glasses or contacts in my life.

How can I fix this? I really don't want to get glasses.....TT.TT

Can somebody tell me what's wrong with my eyesight? And can you tell me what I can do to possibly fix it at this stage?

Thanks :]

PS: I thought it was an eyelash also, but I checked but there's no random eyelashes so yeah...

Blurred vision only at computer?

Your screen may not have a high refresh rate. Did you ever see computers on tv with alot of lines flipping on them and some not as much? The higher the refresh rate the less blinking to the eye. Also if you can dim your screen it might help. Using Purple tinted glasses may help elininate the glare.

Why does my vision become blurry when I read and look down and then up?

I have the same issue… my vision doesn't get blurry looking straight up at the monitor all day, but if I look down at papers or phone or tablet my vision gets blurry within 10–15 mins. I wear reading glasses and go for annual vision tests to the doc - I have asked a lot of people and tend to get the same set of responses we see from some other folks here, but none of it seems to help. Im guessing its size of screen /font and/or the glare from the device.

Is blurry vision from a computer/phone used irreversible?

Screen Fatigue is just as it says, tired eyes warning you to take a break as they can no longer sustain the effort required in attention and gaze so - blurry vision .However, if ignored and, you do not allow sufficient time for your eyes to recover and continue to use and/or operator sub-optimally calibrated or individually customised display screen equipment, you will predictably suffer visual “repetitive stress injuries” resulting in adaptations to your visual system. To avoid or guard against the stress related adaptions everyone should ideally take a good visual break every 20 minutes even with an optimised display screen interface ergonomics that predictably reduces the visual stress and strain. It has also been noted that, for those already suffering from pre-existing visual disruptions, an optimised screen does also provide a palliative or therapeutic affect for the majority of user operators. So, in answer to your specific question Screen Fatigue or Computer Vision Syndrome, if not reversible, will be mitigated by optimising screen settings. The Home - S.M.A.R.T Foundation is currently sponsoring a 2018 “Digital Health and Literacy Campaign” and you are welcome to try, rate and share the app.“Score My Screen” at: Score My Screen - Screen Risk | Screen Fatigue - Optimise your screen interface ergonomics now!

What else can I do to help my blurry vision caused by astigmatism?

There are a few reasons I can think of which might be contributing to the blurred vision at the computer.1. If you are above 40 years of age, and the contacts are giving you great vision at distance but blurred vision at near, then it is likely that a big part of the problem is 'presbyopia'-or the reduced ability to focus for near with age. In this case, computer or reading glasses worn on top of the contact lenses may help.2. If your vision fluctuates for both far and near with the contacts, and especially if you are still younger than 40 years of age, then it is likely that the contact lenses are not fitting well. This is a fairly common issue with soft toric contact lenses, especially the daily disposable type. Some soft toric lenses rotate while they are being worn so that the cylinder axis no longer matches that of your eye. With the daily disposable soft toric lenses, they only come in a few different axes which may not exactly match that of your eyes. Sometimes just changing to a different brand helps in this case. If not, a rigid gas permeable (RGP) contact lens will likely be the answer. RGPs, although uncomfortable at first, are great for astigmatism as they will provide a new spherical surface that focuses light well (without any worries about lens rotation).3. If your vision with the computer is initially OK, but then tends to get blurrer as the day passes, dryness could be an issue especially if you are wearing soft contact lenses. Soft contact lenses need moisture to maintain their shape and transparency, and if they get too dry blurry vision will result. I agree with Dr Mehta about taking frequent breaks. You can also try preservative free artificial tears like Refresh Plus or Tears Naturale Free to keep your eyes moist.

Is it normal to have a blurry vision after reading?

Yes it can happen … even if you have no refractive error or you are not presbyopic .Reason for that is … our eye muscles accommodate ( focus )for near when reading and then when we look at distance the muscles relax in a fraction of second to focus on the distance objects. At times they may stay in spasm or accommodation after reading ( especially for longer period of times ) and take time to relax and focus on far objects.Till they lose the spasm the vision will stay blurry and after some time will get clear.but make sure there is no other cause of blurring ,like refractive error ,presbyopia or any other problem in eye.

Can lack of sleep cause blurry vision?

I haven't been sleeping well the past 2-3 days.
And not at all last night.
Been noticing that my vision's not very good now. Sometimes it seems fine and clear. But other times I have a hard time focusing on things. Like words on a page or on my computer screen. Or my own face in a mirror. It doesn't look clear to me.
I don't think my vision was this blurry before, so maybe it's just because I haven't had enough sleep?
