Help- Could This Be A Cyst Or Somthing Worse

Very painful cyst on tailbone...help?

I had the same thing happen to me a few years ago. The ER doc lanced it and all was better. Then a week later I found out that I was pregnant. I was very concerned about if it had affected the baby but everything was fine. There were no adverse affects from the minor surgery at all. They do it right there in the ER. Just have someone drive you there because you will not be able to drive home. Make sure you let the ER doc know that you are pregnant when you get there. It will be uncomfortable to sit for a while but after the cyst is out, you will feel so much better.

I have also heard of something called "Drawitol" not sure if it spelled it right. Anyway, it is a dark, tar like substance they sell over the counter. It stinks really bad and can take a long time to work but I had a friend tell me about it when I had my cyst. I could not stand the pain and went to the ER.

Hope this helps.

Why does ovarian cyst pain get worse when sitting down, bending over, or walking?

It depends on the type of pain. As a teenager I would get severe knife-like pains in my abdomen and ovary area. Thinking it was gas, I would take some chewable gas pills and the pain would sometimes subside after awhile -- do you eat regularly? Gas is easily trapped around your ovaries. I went to the hospital the summer of '06 for an ovarian cyst that had hemorrhaged and ruptured. The morning of this happening I had extreme pain that woke me up -- thinking I had to use the bathroom, I tried to stand but the pain got worse. I ended up going to the hospital. I mention gas because during a recent check up to make sure no more cysts had developed, I had a pain in the waiting room and found out during an ultrasound that there was some gas. Try chewing some over the counter gas-relief pills.

If the pain is worse with movement don't forget your pelvis tilts with movement, it's possible you're putting pressure on the area, or gas could be creating pressure against the area.

If the pain is relieved, it may be just that, but if it gets worse go to the hospital. You are the caretaker of your body, listen to it!

HELP?! Signs of cysts on ovaries?? itching? ?

Typically, ovarian cysts are functional (not disease or cancer related) and occur as a normal process of ovulation. During the days before ovulation, a follicle grows. But at the time of expected ovulation, the follicle fails to break open and release an egg, as it is supposed to. Instead, the fluid within the follicle remains and forms a cyst.

Functional, or physiological, ovarian cysts usually disappear within 8-12 weeks without treatment. They are relatively common, and are more common during a woman's childbearing years (puberty to menopause). Ovarian cysts are rare after menopause.

Functional ovarian cysts are not the same as ovarian tumors (including ovarian cancer) or cysts due to hormone-related conditions such as polycystic ovarian disease. Some non-functional ovarian cysts must be treated to go away.

An ovarian cyst can cause pain if it pushes on nearby structures, ruptures or bleeds. Pain may also occur if the cyst is twisted or causes twisting (torsion) of the fallopian tube.

Symptoms of ovarian cysts can include:

* Pelvic pain - constant, dull aching
* Pain with intercourse or pelvic pain during movement
* Pain during bowel movements
* Pelvic pain shortly after beginning or ending a menstrual period
* Abnormal uterine bleeding (change from normal menstrual pattern)
* Longer than usual menstrual cycle
* Shorter than usual menstrual cycle
* Absent menstruation
* Irregular menstruation
* Abdominal bloating or swelling

Often no symptoms are noted and ovarian cysts are found only be routine examinations. Usually birth control pills may be prescribed to help establish normal cycles and decrease the development of functional ovarian cysts.

Simple ovarian cysts that are larger than 5-10 centimetres and complex ovarian cysts that persist should and will usually be surgically removed via laparoscopy (minimal invasive surgery).

I would recommend that you keep on trying to get a hold of your gynaecologist, or try to see another gynaecologist for further evaluation as sometimes cyst can twist or cut of the blood supply to your ovary causing a medical emergency.

I have suffered from many bilateral ovarian cysts over the past 11 years and have surgery 2 times to have them removed (it wasn't anything too serious).

I hope this helps to answer your question. Good luck :)

Small bump on labia.. Sebaceous cyst or something else? HELP PLZ?

Ok so two weeks ago I noticed some soreness down there but upon looking I didn't see anything. I could FEEL a small hard bump (about the size of a pea) that was very tender. Later, the bump became noticeable (it didn't get bigger, it just got closer to the surface I guess??). It's smooth on top and I noticed it was a darker color than the rest of the skin. I made an appointment with my gynecologist and he said that it looked like a sebaceous cyst and "was absolutely nothing to worry about". He said it would most likely eventually come to a head and pop and go away. However I asked him if sebaceous cysts are usually painful because I had read that they're not but the bump I have is a little sore. He just said that they could be painful sometimes. I have had it for over two weeks now and it doesn't seem to have gotten bigger but it's not coming to a head at all. The bump is smooth and is a lot darker than the surrounding skin. It looks almost like a blood blister and is still a little sore, but not much. Could this be a boil, a sebaceous cyst, or what? When and how will it ever go away? It's kind of embarassing because it's noticeable ya know? Serious answers only please! Also I have been tested for STDs and I'm negative.. If it was an STD the doctor would have seem more concerned so please don't try to scare me. Thanks so much everyone!

Cyst on labia majora?

I'm 21 yrs old. 5 4, 155 lbs with no medical history. I am sexually active and practice safe sex and last time I was checked (5 months ago), I didn't have any STD's. However, a few days ago I noticed a medium red flat pimple on my labia majora which burns when I peed. Yesterday I started having painful urination every time I try to pee and it still hurts to pee (stings and burns). Today I noticed tiny little pimples around that pimple that looked like they are filled with clear puss. I cleaned it with warm water and scent free/alcohol free soap. But it hurts like heck. What could this be, please help.

I know people will tell me to get it checked. Meanwhile can someone tell me what it is?

HELP! ovarian cyst pain and extremely bad headaches.?

Ovarian cysts can cause headaches, although these are probably not "migraines" in the technical medical definition. They can still be very bad, however. In addition, nausea is a pretty common symptom from ovarian cysts, and really bad nausea can itself lead to headaches.

Massage the "crown" of your head. There is a ring of muscles that circle the head where a crown would sit. Once the muscles have relaxed, your headache will disappear!
Get off the computer and go to a light, quiet room and read.
Headaches are a result of trauma or blockage. If you didn't get hit in the head, it's probably blockage. The most powerful action of cayenne (capsaicin) on a head ache is not the release of endorphins, although this is a feature. The primary action is the circulatory system response. This will help get blood pumping better to the pained part of your head.
Try putting a cold compress on your forehead or behind the neck. Many headaches are caused by tense neck muscles. Conversely, use a moist hot pack to loosen up tense muscles - see which works best for you.
Maintain good posture and do some stretching. Poor posture while working can cause what are known as tension headaches. Staying in such a position for a very long time may cause the muscles of the neck and shoulders to tighten up. One way to get rid of this headache is to maintain a good posture while working. Every now and then or if you feel tension pains setting in, do some stretching to get rid of the headache before it gets worse.
