Help Do I Have Appendicitis Food Poisoning Help

I Don't Want To Get Appendicitis?

You can't prevent it, it just happens. Yes, you can get it in your sleep, but trust me the pain will wake you up. It is horribly painful, not trying to scare you. I didn't actually have appendicitis, a cyst burst and caused it to become infected, but overall it's the same thing. None the less, you'll know if you have it and should go to the emergency room if you think you do. Also, I doubt you'll get it, it's not very common at all. Or at least, no one I know has had it. Yes you can get it removed if you don't have appendicitis, but surgery HURTS.

Appendicitis, food poisoning?

I woke up with extremely bad lower abdominal cramps, I've been up for about 2 hours now. I know it's not period related. the cramps are so bad. I was able to go to the bathroom after being in pain for an hour.. then I layed in bed and it came back. it feels like pressure in my butt, like I need to pass gas but I can't. I have been able to let a few out, that smelled horrible.. I got the urge to go to the bathroom and now I'm having extremely bad diareah... (worst I've ever had) any ideas on what this could be?:/ I also keep having muscle spasms, fast heart rate and I'm shakey

What happens if a passenger gets food poisoning or appendicitis on a long haul flight?

If at anytime a passenger (or crew's) life is at risk due to a medical condition, the aircraft will land at the nearest possible airport for medical assistance. In the mean time, aircraft personnel are usually trained with some first aid skills.

Typically flights are routed to avoid long hauls over water. This is done mainly because it is difficult to place beacons for navigation in the open sea. For example a flight from San Francisco to Asia for example will fly along the coast northbound then turn around and head south along the Russian coast (the earth curvature doesn't make it farther but sometimes even closer).

Aircraft personnel are not trained to provide medicine of any sort. It is not their place and the liability is too high.

Appendicitis symptoms are easing?

Ok, listen to me very carefully, this exact thing happened to me less than a year ago, and i didn't go to the hospital till I felt faint and it they told me my apendix had burst and I was lucky to have lived. it is very dangerous if it bursts. You will need to get it removed, but now it is infected and they will most likely have to give you antibiotics till the infection goes away. I felt exactly what you are telling me and I went to a couple of doctors who told me it was food poisoning, bastards!! So, i went home, and eventually the pain goes away, so you think you are fine, but it will come back, and get worse and worse. I am not joking, go to the hospital now, you are describing exactly what I felt. The pain is from the right lower quadrant right? it is slightly puffed, or a bit bloated in the area. That is the inflamation from the infection.
Good luck, I have been fine ever since I got it taken out, but go now!!

How does someone die from appendicitis?

Different people have different experiences of pain, and appendicitis isn't always extraordinarily painful. Appendicitis doesn't kill you because you "bleed to death internally", you die from the massive infection of your entire abdomen. I don't know what you mean by "go." Your appendix doesn't "go." If you get an infection in the appendix, this is called appendicitis. If you get this infection, they have to remove your appendix as soon as possible. If it stays infected too long without being removed the infected material (think pus) causes the appendix to rupture (kind of like explode) and the infection is spread all over the entire abdominal area. (the whole insides from your hips to your diaphram, which is right under your lungs. If you remove the appendix before it ruptures it's no big deal. If it ruptures you are very likely to die from the infection.

Some people have very little pain with appendicitis. There is one symptom that makes it easy to tell if your stomach ache is appendicitis. With appendicitis you get "rebound tenderness." That means if you press on the area of your appendix (lower right abdomen.) it doesn't hurt or hurts only a little when you press down, but it hurts a whole lot when you let up. Usually you have nausea and vomiting as well, but not always. Also, appendix pain feels better when you lie in what doctors sometimes call the "appy ball," which is on your side with your knees pulled up so you're curled into a ball. If the friend's friend didn't have a lot of pain to begin with and she was comfortable all curled up, she may have just thought she had a bit of food poisoning and ignored it. That is very plausible.

What is your appendicitis story?

It all started with a minute pain in the lower abdomen particularly concentrated on the right side. I felt pain at 4:19 am on 8th June, 2015.As it was early morning so I just discarded it as It was before the morning business. But as the day proceeded it grew more and more intense but again I discard it as I was experiencing a run which is quite common in food poisoning. Now came the evening and pain migrated to whole stomach, got mild fever so i went to my uncle who is B.A.M.S Doctor and he diagnosed it as appendicitis, he gave me an injection to ease the pain but by the night it grew intense. So at 10:30 pm we went to Sonography center, got an ultrasound and diagnosis was there in front of me. And the only treatment for this is surgical removal. On 9th June, 2015 I was operated at 2:00pm and was successful got out of out operation theatre by 3:00 pm. Got three stitch, mark is still there but I am Alive.Note : Appendicitis is fatal if not treated timely. So if you are experiencing pain on the lower right side of your abdomen go to the doctor.

Should you go to the ER if you suspect food poisoning? Is there anything they can actually do for you?

This all depends on the severity of the pain you are suffering and how long it lasts. If after a meal you start feeling bloated and are cramping and expierenceing the urge to defacate that is the body trying to get rid of whatever toxin you ingested .If you deficate and the cramping subsides your body is working to eliminate it you may have diarrhea a few more times which tells you your body is working to rid itself of whatever you ate that was bad.But if you have severe cramping lasting a length of time and it is getting worse take some anti gas preparation and drink some hot tea preferably peppermint tea. If you still are suffering after an hour you probably should call your doctor it could be something worse like a bowel blockage,or appendicitis,or a much more serious form of food poisoning that your body cannot dissapate. Some clues that might help you make a decision are if you ate raw seafood or raw chicken or cream sauces that were left out too long or maybe something new you ate that just didn't agree with you.Sometimes drinking ice water with your food brings o n cramping or over eating. It also depends where the pain is upper stomach, lower stomach, intestines, right side left side is there a lot of gas being expelled. In the long run if after the hot tea gas relief tablets, maybe a heating pad you still do not have diarrhea multiple times each time the cramping easing up and 2 or 3 hours have passed then possibly something else is going on.If it is just plain everyday food poisoning your body tries to get rid of it pretty quickly through early on diarrhea or sometimes vomiting. You have to listen to your own body.

What are the symptoms of appendicitis?

It is important to diagnose appendicitis on time and in order to do so, one should be aware of its symptoms. Appendicitis is often confused with other disorders such as kidney pain, gallstones, urinary tract infection, and inflammation of the intestines. Let us get to know the most common signs and symptoms of appendicitis and not confuse it with others.Belly-button Pain:The most common sign of appendicitis is the pain in the mid abdomen area around the navel that slowly move towards the lower abdomen. The pain gets worse when coughing or sneezing.Rapidly worsening right-side stomach pain:Appendicitis pain becomes severe around the right side of the abdomen where the appendix is. The pain is severe enough to wake someone from the sleep and it can get worse over 6 to 24 hours.Fever and Chills:The other symptom can include low-grade fever, chills and shaking. For instance, 103-degree fever with severe stomach pain can be a sign of appendicitis.Nausea, vomiting or loss of appetite:You may suffer from low appetite and some mild nausea and vomiting, along with the right-sided stomach pain. The feeling of nausea and the pain usually go parallel.Constipation or Diarrhea:Constipation or diarrhea along with lower right abdominal pain is can be a sign of appendicitis.Gas or Bloating:Another sign could be bloating for more than a couple of days, have a lot of gas along with bowel pain or trouble in passing gas.Rebound Tenderness:Rebound tenderness refers to the pain while releasing the pressure after pushing on the lower right side of the abdomen. If this is experienced along with the other symptoms, it might be appendicitis.Frequent Urination:Frequent need to pee or painful pee may also be a sign of an inflammation of the appendix.Source: What Are The Most Common Signs And Symptoms Of Appendicitis?

What foods can't you eat without your appendix?

Technically there should be no foods your body won't ultimately process.

However, the appendix does have a purpose -- Although many people and medical professionals aren't aware or are hesitant to believe the research.

It digests nothing itself.. (no not bone, nothing) -- It merely hangs off the end of your bowel/colon. It has long been thought to have no use in modern humans and is merely dangerous/life threatening if it becomes inflamed.

However, somewhat recently it has been discovered to be responsible for the health of your bowels.. producing good bacteria and such. We are becoming more aware of the 'environment' of our bowels and how important they are to our absorption and processing of what we eat.

So deductively .. it is possible that the 'environment' of your bowels is slightly changed, and as such you might develop some irritation to particular foods that utilized this particular bacteria HIGHLY.

With that said,.. nothing will HARM you regardless.. but just keep a diary of any foods that cause irritation, and with such you can deduce accurately just what you need to avoid. Note: Some things can cause irritation initially but then the body adapts if the substance continues to be introduced. However, some things will always cause issues.

Most medical doctors will say there is no correlation to dietary intolerance and the removal of your appendix. So you are best to , as aforementioned, keep a journal of your diet and what causes issues so you can tailor it for your comfort.

Best of luck,
