Help Explaining What These Bruises Are On My Hand And Wrist

Why do I have a bruise after getting blood drawn?

After a blood test, you may have a small bruised area on your skin where the needle went in. Rarely a larger area of bruising may appear. This can be because there was a lack of pressure at the site of the jab or the blood vessel was damaged by the needle. It is recommended not to bend your elbow after having blood taken as this opens up the vein and may result in more bruising. Bruising is harmless and will disperse in time and does not require treatment. However, in Blood test lab if you frequently get bruises after having a blood test, tell your GP.Some conditions may increase the risk of bruising. These include:• Taking anti-coagulant medicines such as warfarin or aspirin• Conditions such as bleeding disorders• Where it is difficult to locate the vein, for example if the arm is swollen• Elderly patients may bruise more easilyIn order to reduce this risk as much as possible, please tell the person taking the blood if you have any conditions as stated above, or if you have previously experienced problems during or following blood taking in a private or local labs.

How do I speed up the healing of bruised arms from missing the veins trying to inject?

Applying heat will help the painful bump that appears immediately when you miss, to “dissolve” quickly. Arnica oil/gel works beautifully. Massage into the area as soon as possible and repeat as often as possible. Another fantastic (and cheap) remedy is castor oil. Just a drop or two is necessary, massage into the area for two minutes, at least 3 times a day. For best results, warm a little bit of castor oil by placing it in a glass bowl, which you then place in a bigger bowl filled with hot water (NOT boiling, as this will lead to burning) soak a cotton ball in the castor oil and place it on the affected area, cover with plastic wrap and then wrap a bandage or cloth around it. To keep it warm, you can also place a hot water bottle or heating pad over the bandage. Keep it like this for 20 minutes. Allowing the area a few minutes of direct sunlight also speeds of healing and eliminates the bruise faster. Fresh lemon juice massaged into the spot also clears bruising quickly. The key is to massage any or all of these products into the area as often as possible. Massage breaks down the clots of blood that collect under the skin and forms the bruise.

Volleyball : wrist guards? Volleyball shoes? Ankle braces? Also techniques?

Ok it's sort of a four part question so if u only want to answer one that would still b very helpful.
1. so when I sprawl and dive and collapse in volleyball my wrists are sticky (idk why) so the skin on my wrists gets all cut up and bleeding and blisters and stuff. (I know it's nasty lol) so I was wondering is there like something u can wear on ur wrists to keep then from getting cut up? Like wrist guards or something?
2. I got these new Asics vball shoes and I've worn them twice but the problem is their already not sticky and the front is peeling off. And their not great at supporting my ankles either. What is your favorite womens volleyball shoe brand and or type? (aka mizuno wave, asics lightening...)
3. Ankle braces? I want to get them but someone said they weaken your ankles? Can u explain that?
4. And lastly when you sprawl and dive what part of your body do u land on first? In 5'10 so sprawling is kinda scary for me cuz I feel like I'll Hurt myself cuz I'm so tall!! Idk help me!

Thanks!! Haha you can pick just one number to answer just please answer at least one!!

What's the purpose in learning Wrist Grab Defense for Hapkido?

In my Taekwondo class, we learn applications of self-defense from Hapkido as well.
Most of our self defense has to do with how to release yourself from a wrist grab and striking the opponent after/putting them in an armlock.
But, in reality, what kind of mugger or criminal would grab your wrist in a self-defense situation? It just seems impractical to focus so much time on something that hardly, if ever, happens. More often than not someone's trying to smash your head in with their fists.

What is the reason for applying perfume on the wrist and the back of the neck?

When I was in my initial training days in IT industry , my bizz skill faculty told me about "Pulse Points".Pulse points are the points on body from which the heat from the body evolves. This is due to fact that the pulse is being close to skin at such points .Your neck and wrist are one of the "Pulse points" . These points help your skin retain the fragnance . So when we spray perfume there , the pulse points heats up and makes perfume last longer. Thus your skin retains the sweet smell in that area.

Can a ceiling fan break a finger?

So I just took a nap, and I woke up and stretched. RIGHT about me was a ceiling fan that was set on High. It hit my finger. HARD.

Here's the thing. I can bend it, but I can't get it to bend 90 degrees because it hurts so bad. It's really swollen and one spot as a bump, but touching it doesn't hurt. It's like a spot of major swelling I guess. It's (obviously) bruised and red and REALLY painful. No one is home with me- everyone is at work, and my mom is about 1 and a half hours away in a meeting so I can't call her) so I put it in an old finger split after icing. What should I do? Could it be broken? I didn't know fans could break bones..
