How to I get rid of hives?
Hello All, I need your help. My niece Kimberly Ann has had a very intense case of the Hives since Tuesday 7/10. As she completed that day, Kimberly did gardening and washed the Bird Cage. She has been taking benedryl since Tuesday Night. The Benedryl makes the hives go completely away, however when it wears off the Hives are back covering her entire body and face, itchy and swollen bumps. I took her to the emergency room on Friday 7/14 because I thought she was taking the Benedryl for too many days. At the emergency room they gave her a shot of Cortisone, and a prescription for Prednisone. Today is Sunday and the hives are really bad I called the emergency room back and was told Kim should start taking the Benedryl with Prednison. The Benedryl is the only thing that gives relief, and the hives go completely away. The Doctor informed her if she is not better by Tuesday 7/18 to come back. Any help is greatly appreciated. Kim has had no new foods, no new detergents, or soap. Thanks MIA

hives are a result of being allergic to something. perhaps it's laundry detergent or something like that. anyway, use benedry. it will help

here are a few things i did in the last 28 hours(thats when hives started) that may have triggered my outbreak. and please tell me the BEST and Fast way to get rid of them 1.drunk i pomegrade energy drink for the first time 2. wore a shirt that I havent touched in about a year(but rewashed it to weeks ago) the shirt was in my basement 3. my dog bit me and broke the skin 4.I was helping my store move and it was really dirty and dusty. Sooo those are things that happend im takin benedryl. and outting ice in my hives. does not seem to be working. Natural or home made remedies are a plus 10 points ppl
How do you get rid of hives fast?!?!?
Okay, I can help, I had hives a few months ago and had them for nearly two weeks. Here is what I did and it helped very much!! I bought the Aveeno bath powder for skin relief (it helps with poison ivy/oak/sumac/rashes, insect, eczema) after my bath with that I got out and powdered my whole body with Gold Bond foot powder (triple action relief) it is in a blue bottle. That stuff helped my itching real well. The hives went away in 2 days. I wish I would have tried that in the beginning! I sprinkled the powder on before bed so I could sleep also. Ive been having hives for about 2 years now, and after 3 different pills to treat it and several visits to the doctor, i am sick of it! I get this very painful itching and stinging thats unberable! What can i do to get rid of this and anyone that has had hives in the past?

It's probably a reaction to something...lotion, soap or perhaps laundry detergent. Try a cold, damp face cloth over it for a few minutes just to relieve the itching. If you're using any lotion on it still make sure it's fragrance free, at least for now until the skin has calmed down. How long have you been using the cream? Continue using it for as long as the dermatologist told you to, it could just be taking some time to have an effect. Also, try not to let the area get overheated, that could worsen the itching etc.
Getting Rid of Hives?
So, I have my first case of hives (it was an allergic reaction to a hamster). Is there anyway of getting rid of them without using neosporin or benadryl (I'm highly allergic to both of these medications)? Also, the hamster has been removed from my presence for 2 days now and the hives still itch and are getting bigger. Is this a sign that they are coming from something else? I have a bad cold (possibly the flu). Could these hives be coming from the flu virus I have? Thanks in advance.
