Help Me. Mom Suffering

Help! My mom has got Vertigo and is suffering from Insomnia.?

Vertigo is a type of dizziness that's characterized by the sensation of spinning. It's sometimes referred to as a hallucination of motion. Imagine what it would feel like to be placed suddenly on a roller coaster that won't stop, and you begin to understand the alarming symptom of vertigo.

A fairly common cause of vertigo is labyrinthitis (explanation below). This type of vertigo may occur after a flu-like illness, severe ear infection, or may have no clear cause. It's usually self-limited, meaning it goes away all by itself. But it may intermittently reappear over weeks to months. Bouts of vertigo are commonly treated with meclizine (Antivert).

Vertigo can also result from other vestibular (balance center) disorders. Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) is thought to be caused by tiny loose particles floating freely in the fluid (endolymph) of the vestibular system. Meniere's disease is a chronic condition that causes vertigo associated with ringing or roaring and progressive hearing loss in the affected ear(s). Other causes of vertigo include vestibular neuronitis (inflammation of the vestibular nerves), and post traumatic vertigo which may occur after an injury to the head involving the inner ear structures. Sometimes vertigo may be a symptom of a more serious underlying illness such as a stroke or tumor.

So, anyone with the symptom of vertigo should be seen immediately by a doctor in order to determine the cause. If you can't get in by appointment, then obtain a ride to your local emergency room. They're well equipped to do the required initial evaluation, and provide relief from the unpleasant symptoms, regardless of one's ability to pay. Don't drive or operate machinery until cleared by your physician.

And for her insomnia as i read on some books it is just only a psychological term. Which means its either she just thinking or scared on what will going to happen if she sleep with that dizziness.

My mom's suffering from chickenpox?

your mom is infected with a virus, her immune system is trying to fight it so that is whats causing the fever and body pain. when i had the chicken pox at age 5, i was also ill with a fever and body pains, there is not much difference if your older besides a higher white blood cell count and better immune system.

My mother is suffering from diabetes, what can I do to help her?

I'm sorry to hear the news. This sounds like a terrible situation. High glucose/blood sugar is toxic to the body and organs (a long list: heart disease, kidney and organ problems, gut bacterial imbalances, vision, nerve and joint problems, cancer, etc.). So the numerous problems and symptoms all stem from the high blood glucose, which you seem to realize. And kudos for trying to help her get her health back!  As this was a relatively recent problem, I'm assuming she has type-2 (adult onset) diabetes? If so, it's easily treatable with lifestyle changes and can often be reversed in a few months. Is your mom overweight? Does she indulge in frequent sodas, wheat-based foods like cookies, crackers, rolls and other baked goods? Does she like her sweets and desserts? Does she love snack foods and chips? A too-high intake of refined carbs and a lack of whole foods like veggies, whole fruits, quality proteins, nuts and seeds, and beverages like tea and water will drive high blood sugar and eventually kill the beta cells in the pancreas. This problem often leads to early death and will literally change her genes and drive more disease. She could be insulin dependent forever.  My biggest concern is that she doesn't seem to be responding to the problems in a constructive way. As a health coach, I can only help people who want to change and move past the issues they have.  Here are some posts (with lots of source links) for more info: Diabetes!  http://www.endsicknessnow.com/to... http://www.endsicknessnow.com/wh... I hope those are helpful! Update: The reason I said what I said is many years of experience with health issues, including my own with blood sugar. I was also working on a new article about lifestyle and genes, quoting various research studies for 5 key areas of lifestyle and how genes are changed. Please help!! i can't stand seing my mom suffering from the pain of bursitis?

I too have bursitis, and I don't need to tell you how painful it is. Tell your mom that it is very very important to keep those arms moving or else they will freeze. I find that swimming is a blessing, and it doesn't hurt if you go often and do exercises in (less is better) mode. It would help the pain for her to go to a rhumatologist, and get some injections, it only hurts for a minute, and the help is a miracle...good luck mom

What is the thyroid? My mom is suffering from it and I am scared about it.

The thyroid is an endocrine gland located in the front of your throat region. It is responsible for playing a role in many, if not most, of the body's functions and metabolic activities. Having a thyroid is normal. However, thyroid disorders are fairly common — hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, autoimmune thyroiditis, etc..Most imbalances can be controlled through lifestyle changes, exercise, yoga, stress management… and medication does have its place (allopathy as well as homeopathy, naturopathy, ayurveda, etc). I balanced mine through Yoga, homeopathy and other holistic protocols. You don't need to be scared of it… just address the imbalance..

My mom is suffering frm "verose veins"...?

Self-help measures — such as exercising, losing weight, not wearing tight clothes, elevating your legs and avoiding long periods of standing or sitting — can ease pain and prevent varicose veins from getting worse. Varicose veins that develop during pregnancy generally improve without medical treatment within three months after delivery.

Self-care

Support stockings
Wearing compression stockings is often the first approach to try before moving on to other treatments. Compression stockings are worn all day long. They steadily squeeze your legs, helping veins and leg muscles move blood more efficiently. The amount of compression varies by type and brand.

Some people think of compression stockings as being uncomfortable and unstylish, but their negative fashion reputation is no longer deserved. Stockings today come in a variety of strengths, styles and colors. With the variety offered, you're likely to find a stocking that you're comfortable wearing.

Compression stockings are sold at most pharmacies and medical supply stores. Prices vary. Prescription-strength stockings also are available.

When purchasing compression stockings, make sure that they fit properly. Using a tape measure, you or your pharmacist can measure your legs to ensure you get the right size and fit according to the size chart found on the stocking package. Compression stockings should be strong but not necessarily tight. If you have weak hands or arthritis, getting these stockings on may be difficult. There are devices to make putting them on easier.

How can I help my mom who suffers from bipolar disorder and is living on the streets (I’m fifteen & love my father)?

Honey,I’m so sorry for you and about your mom. The fact that you have a good relationship with your father is wonderful. I wish I could offer a knowledgeable and helpful answer to your question; but, all I can think is that my daughter is fifteen as well and you are both still children yourselves. You are probably wise well beyond your years but, you still need to be taken care of.The best thing you can do is love your mom for giving you life and try not to blame her for her struggles. Realize that she loves you, she is just unable to be the mother you deserve because of her disorder right now. Helping her is a job for the grown-ups in her life and even then she has to want and be willing to accept the help.Enjoy your adolescence and allow the grown-ups in your life to care for you!Be well.Diana
