What songs remind you of your high school days?
Well, there are a few songs that remind me of high school. Mostly the memories are triggered by the lyrics of a song. They tend to remind me of some specific events, or certain emotions I've felt during certain periods. I have a tendency to relate lyrics to real events (which I believe most people do too, since people find songs they relate to). Some songs that speak to my high school self through lyrics are:Photograph - NickelbackGraduation (Friends Forever) - Vitamin CThese songs above are more on saying goodbye, which is what I did to my friends back in my home town. They were really good friends but our family had to move out. I always cherished those years I spent in that town, with those people. Then also we have the songs that were really popular during my days, which also kind of makes me recollect on those moments.Back in those days, boybands dominated the airwaves. Groups were popping up here and there, but of course there were those that were the most well known like Westlife, Backstreet Boys, *NSync, A1.Any song from these groups tend to remind me of my younger days, so maybe I'll just list down some of my favorites:What Makes A Man - WestlifeClose - WestlifeBop Bop Baby - WestlifeIt's Gonna Be Me - *NSyncThis I Promise You - *NSync
Cold.. Lost My voice.. singing competition monday?
relax your throat, dont talk and whatever you do DONT take menthols or any throat lollies!! they make it worse and numb your throat which will make it worse the next day. im a singer and trust me that the best thing to do is gargle lemon juice-fresh- and make hot water and honey. stay away from dairy products and chocolate. there is a disinfectant throat spray in the chemist that you can buy. other than that there is nothing else you can do, because what is hurting you isnt your throat its your larics- and nothing you eat or spray will make contact with your larics, so the best thing you can do is relax and have plenty of hot fliuds and honey. good luck :D also if your thraot hurts by the time you have to sing then change whatever song you are singing to "Only Hope" by mandy moore. -its easy and wont stress you throat. :) tell us how you go!

What piece of music would you select to serve as the soundtrack to a movie about your life?
Private schools are not good... They don't teach you about real life. Don't apply.
Hobbies for a teen to do after school and on weekends?
If you have an interest, volunteering is fun and rewarding. I volunteered at an animal rescue because I like animals. Sometimes schools need volunteers for the really young kids. Food pantries need volunteers to give out food. Senior citizens centers and homes might need help. Sometimes you can make elderly people happy by just playing ping pong with them or bringing your dog in to visit with them. You could also volunteer at a hospital. A job is something else you can do, depending on what your interested in. Some place like a library might need help in the afternoon/evening or babysitting or dogwalking for a neighbor might be an option. You could try asking around. You could also learn to make balloon animals from a book and offer yourself up for kids parties or church carnivals. http://www.balloon-animals.com/photo/ Kickball is popular in some areas check out http://www.kickball.com/ You can find city activities available at your city Parks and Recreation department; like dance, painting, sports, etc. The Sierra Club has outdoor activities in some areas. Check out http://www.sierraclub.org/ or you can join the youth corps http://www.youthcorps.net/ The YMCA has activities for teens Check out http://www.ymca.net/programs/programs_for_teens.html to find the YMCA in your area. You could write, draw, or paint and share your work at http://www.teenink.com/ They have some good contests here! Learn a new recipe each day cooking with your mom. http://allrecipes.com/ Add your review to the website or even a new recipe. You could check out books at your local library and get into reading. Or, even volunteer to read to younger kids. Get involved in some extracurricular activity at school. How about annual staff or drama club? Or, offer to tutor someone in a subject you're good at. Plan to join a marthon or charity run and start training for it. Make homemade gifts for people. (knit scarfs, christmas ornaments, glass jar candle holders, etc) http://familycrafts.about.com/cs/candleholders/a/bljarcandh.htm Get a book or video from the library to learn to play songs on a harmonica. You'll be the hit at the next camp out or bonfire.
What are the things that remind you of your childhood?
Some things that remind me of my childhood are…PlaygroundsI would play on them all the time as a kid, so this shouldn’t be too surprisingThose bright blue blow-up swimming poolsMy friend had one at her house. One day, when her dad was drunk, he decided to try and dig underneath the pool to build a “deep end”. Didn’t end well.FrisbeesIt was a simpler time when grade school recess allowed us to play ultimate Frisbee. After they realized we basically played it like tackle football, it’s not a shock that it was banned. The Public LibraryAs I was going into middle school, the game Roblox was all the craze. I would run to the library, memorize my library card number, and quickly punch it into the computer so I could play. They limited you on two hours a day, but that didn’t stop some bullies from physically removing you from the computer.Hubba Bubba Bubble Gum or Tic TacsI used to chew this bubblegum and blow the biggest, fattest bubbles imaginable. My friends and I would make contests on their sides.I also pretended that Tic Tacs were drugs and give myself “pretend overdoses” that I was in movies (I was a lovely 9 year old girl.)The feeling of your bare feet burning on hot asphalt in the summerAs a kid, I didn’t really like to wear shoes. I also frequently played in the front or backyard, so my precious toes were protected by the summer heat from the grass. If I wanted to venture across the street to invite another friend over, I’d have to tiptoe quickly and pray not to get run over by a car.Strawberry Shortcake Ice Cream barsI loved these things as a kid, and I ate them all the time to cool down. Self explanatory.Freshly baked loaves of breadA childhood friend of mine lived on top of a bakery that her parents owned, so it was pretty often that I was going home with free bread every day to bring to my parents. We also got to help them make bread too, which was a really fun thing to experience as a child.I think I’ve contributed enough ;)
Does a boy playing a clarinet look gay?
It doesn't look wrong to me, but I'm a guy that plays flute. A lot of people are going to tell you "that's just a stereotype and stereotypes are bad lalalalalala" It's a good point but it's not reality. It doesn't help much when you're the subject of the stereotypical ridicule. Reality is that there are accepted gender roles in musical instruments and clarinet is one - whether it's right or not is a different discussion. So, yes, clarinet is among the "girl instruments" though not as much as is flute. It's not terribly uncommon for a guy to play clarinet these days. Many balance the "maleness" factor by also learning sax. It's easy to point to the greatest clarinetists (Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Pete Fountain, Aker Bilk) and say "see, all guys" but that doesn't help so much when you're being teased. There is a distinct advantage though - you get to hang out with a lot of girls. One the other hand - you become "on of them" and they don't date each other so.... If you're concerned about it at your school then you've already made the observation that it's true there. You can choose to not play the clarinet or you can play the clarinet and do things that mitigate the "femaleness' some such as doubling on sax, playing bass clarinet, or being very good. Hit Google images with a search for "clarinet player" and see what's there. Guys! lots of them. So I don't understand the gender bias on this one at all. But you're the one that has to live with it - make the decision that is real in your world.
