Help Me With My Scoliosis.

So is scoliosis my fault?

Hi, I've had underweight for a year or so at 17 or 18 years eith 55 kg as a male. Then at 19 years we found a 20° S curve scoliosis.
Did my underweight cause and worsen my scoliosis? Was it all preventable? And is it all my fault?

Thank you.

Can you get into the marines if you have scoliosis?

I wanted to join the military but cannot now, because I have had a spinal fusion surgery for my scoliosis. This information should be a little helpful to you.

Military Medical Standards for Enlistment & Appointment

The disqualifying medical conditions are listed below. The International Classification of Disease (ICD) codes are listed in parentheses following each standard.

c. Complaint of a disease or injury of the spine or sacroiliac joints with or without objective signs that has prevented the individual from successfully following a physically active vocation in civilian life (724) or that is associated with pain referred to the lower extremities, muscular spasm, postural deformities, or limitation of motion.

c. Deviation or curvature of spine (737) from normal alignment, structure, or function if—

(1) It prevents the individual from following a physically active vocation in civilian life.

(2) It interferes with wearing a uniform or military equipment.

(3) It is symptomatic and associated with positive physical finding(s) and demonstrable by x-ray.

(4) There is lumbar scoliosis greater than 20 degrees, thoracic scoliosis greater than 30 degrees, and kyphosis or lordosis greater than 55 degrees when measured by the Cobb method.

d. Fusion, congenital (756.15), involving more than two vertebrae. Any surgical fusion (81.0P) is disqualifying.

I hope this helps you out a little,

Is scoliosis my fault?

Hello I want to workout for strength and I still do but I keep thinking about my scoliosis which holds me back from giving my best, if you know what I mean.

Basically I had a rough time once in a school and I developed psychosis and anxiety. Due to that at 19 years I became underweight of only 55 kg as a male with 1.82 meters of height. In the same year late at 19 years they found a 20° S curve scoliosis.

Do you see why this bothers me? Are these things connected? Was my underweight at fault for my scoliosis? Or maybe I was sitting incorrectly in front of the pc? What did I do wrong? I really don't want to have scoliosis but I feel guilty of causing my own scoliosis. Is it my fault and did I worsen it? Or does it have nothing to do with that stuff? I just want to get rid of this problem.

Thank you. :)
