Help Needed How Do I Repair Things Between Us

I need to pray for help with car repairs. How do I do this without being selfish?

It's not selfish to ask God for help for your everyday life. His word tells us in ALL things, to seek Him. Just ask that He would bless you financially and give you favor with those who repair your car, that you will get this done with a minimum of expense and trouble.

God cares about everything to do with your life.

Luxating patella help needed?

My dog has bilateral luxating patellae (both knees).

Jumping is bad, yes, and so are tricks that encourage him to get up on his hind legs, like dancing. If you just can't break him from jumping on the furniture, you can buy little sets of stairs made just so small dogs can climb up and down from furniture.

Swimming and leash walks are great exercise for dogs with bad knees. Walking him on grass or dirt is preferable to concrete or asphalt.

You may also want to start your dog on the chondroprotective supplements. These are nutrients that support joint repair and lubrication and some also provide a mild anti-inflammatory effect. You would want to start using these supplement NOW because they are much better at preserving joints than they are at repairing them, so you will get the most benefit starting them as soon as you know there is a problem.

You would be looking for glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM, glycosaminoglycans, ASU and probably a fish oil supplement. I know--it sounds like a lot! But many joint supplements for dogs will contain several of these in one chewable tablet.

I started my dog on Glyco-Flex III and a fish oil supplement as soon as she was diagnosed. She is now nearly 9 and we just got xrays this past Saturday. She has no arthritis yet at all! I was very surprised and extremely pleased!

Like you, we began limiting jumping immediately. That also helped.

Your dog may never need the surgery, btw. Mine didn't. She's still a Grade 1 in one knee and a Grade 3 in the other. ;)

How can the rest of the US help to repair failed cities like Detroit? Can the city be saved?

Why would the rest of the country need to help repair the city of Detroit, or any other “failed” city? If Detroit can’t fix itself, and if history is any guide it won’t, then it should be allowed to pass away completely. It is not the responsibility of the rest of a society to ensure any kind of standard of living or habitability for any other citizen. If Detroiters (…ites?, …ians?) don’t want to suck it up and change things, I can’t for a moment imagine that there would be any value to having somebody else try to do it for them.We bailed out various industries, and they went right back to profligate spending and ran themselves into the ground again. We covered billions of dollars for California so it would go bankrupt, and they still responded by massive expansion of unfunded mandates to make themselves feel good. We have dropped billions into Detroit already, and yet it remains a cesspool of corruption, racial tension, and class stratification. They don’t want change, so change won’t work. Let something organic develop, and they locals might have enough pride to make it successful. Or the biggest warlord will end up ruling the ruins of the city. Either way, it’s not our responsibility.

What will the next President need to do to help repair our relationships with our allies in the rest of the world?

1.Do not pardon anyone, first of all. That was a huge disaster that haunted Gerald Ford for the rest of his political life.2.Re-enter the Paris Accord, and put safeties in place to make it hard for us to exit so easily. The fate of the world’s climate depends on it. So do our relationships with those we need to collaborate with in order to heal the planet.3.Systematically look at every regulation. If it doesn’t have some benefit, eliminate it. There probably won’t be any regulations we don’t need since Trump has waged war on the EPA. I would implement new emissions regulations in accordance with the Paris Accord agreement.4.I would tamp down any future talk of trade wars.5.I would aggressively promote legislation to punish any foreign entities that attempt to interfere in our elections. I would also put more safeguards in place to discourage our politicians from talking to foreign leaders before campaigns, unless it is standard fare, and prohibit back channels.6.I would re-open trade and talks with Cuba. I would maybe start to look at new ways to promote U.S. interests abroad.7.I would apologize for offensive things said and done by Trump.

I need help with my intex pool?

We filled our intex pool with approx.5,000 gallons of water. Things were going great, after 5 days of the kids playing, the pool appears to be moving. Now, one side of the pool is becoming more like the bottom. How safe is it to use the pool? Can we fix it to get us through the rest of the summer, or do we have to drain it and start over? Any tips on a temporary fix?

Need help with the following math question PLEASE !?

This is an exercise in conditional probability. For any two events A and B, where P(B) ≠ 0, you have the conditional probability:

P( A | B ) = P( A ∩ B ) / P( B ) = P( B | A) * P(A) / P(B)

the above is read as: the probability of A given B is equal to the probability of A and B divided by the probability of B.

In this question we know

P(US based) = 0.60
P(repair) = 0.04
P(repair AND US based) = 0.025

a) find P( repair | US based)
= P(repair AND US based) / P(US based)
= 0.025 / 0.60
= 0.04166667

b) find P( repair | not US Based )

we know from the law of total probability that

P(repair) = P(repair AND US based) + P(repair AND not US Based)

0.04 = 0.025 + P(repair AND not US Based)

P(repair AND not US Based) = 0.015

so P( repair | not US Based )
= P(repair AND not US Based) / P(not US Based)
= 0.015 / 0.4
= 0.0375

c) for two events to be independent then P(A | B) = P(A) * P(B)

here we have:

P( repair | US based ) = 0.04166667
and
P(repair) * P(US Based) = 0.04 * 0.6 = 0.024

P( repair | US based ) ≠ P(repair) * P(US based)

and thus the events are not independent.

The Earth's veil of atmosphere keeps us alive but it is now very thin. Will this veil thicken or get worse?

The atmosphere is about 80 km, or 50 miles thick. It's at this altitude where things begin to burn up when entering the atmosphere. Of course it's very thin at the upper level.

It hasn't changed over time, it's a bit more at the equator and a bit less at the poles but has always remained about the same, it will neither thicken or get thinner as a layer around the earth. People suggesting that 'global warming' is causing this too are just out to alarm. What will they think of next?

I've hurt a guy I truly care about, how do I fix things between us and make sure he's okay?

Oh dear…Question I’m going to attempt to respond to in a reasonable manner:“I've hurt a guy I truly care about, how do I fix things between us and make sure he's okay?”Ok, so, there’s an odd little thing about the way this is worded. Paraphrased, I hurt someone because, sadly, I didn’t take the time to think through how my actions or words or inaction might hurt them.Ouch.That sounds harsh. Look, the only thing you can do is directly apologize in a sincere manner. This means taking ownership exactly of what happened. Take 5 minutes of your life and read this article on Psychology Today. It will help walk you through a proper apology. Second, take another few minutes and watched the TED video referenced in the article.Lastly, I’d love to say that the apology will smooth everything over and make everything better. Except, that it may not, and even if he is gracious in accepting the apology, he may never fully trust you in that area again. Furthermore, he will likely always carry the scar of the memory. Not that he will hold it against you, but that even though it heals, the memory may cause him to have some degree of caution around you. I can’t really say, just be aware of this.In the end, even if he decides that it is best to remove you from his life completely. You still have the opportunity to learn from it. And, that is my second recommendation to you. We all act, and say, and do things from time to time that in hindsight, wish that they could be undone. It’s important to learn from these experiences so that we can avoid making the same or similar mistakes multiple times.I do wish you the best, know that whatever pain or anxiety you have now will generally pass over time. Assuming that you apologize and learn from your mistakes I don’t see any reason why you won’t succeed in another relationship if this one doesn’t quite turn out as hoped.
