Help Pease Questions About Isis

Did the Christian religion oppose or support slavery in the US before 1861?

I don’t know any Christian denomination that actively advocated slavery. There were individual preachers who taught that slavery conformed to God’s will as revealed in the Bible. Slavery is an institution as old as humanity. But the really interesting thing is how the abolition of slavery happened. Abolition grew not from atheists, not from the Enlightenment, not from Catholics, certainly not from Socialists (who did not exist at the time) but from evangelical Protestants: Methodists, Presbyterians, Quakers, Moravians, Baptists and evangelical Anglicans. Key figures in England were William Wilberforce and John Newton (author of Amazing Grace). Wilberforce worked for most of his life, gradually persuading the British that slavery was wrong. John Newton had actually been captan of a slave ship before he became an Anglican priest. In the US abolition of the slave trade with Africa was written into the Constitution. The British Parliament passed an Act ending the African slave trade of n 1807. In the same year the US congress made it a felony. The US and the UK sent naval squadrons to the west coast of Africa to stop the traffic in slaves.Of course it took a long time to free the slaves already in the Western Hemisphere. The British did it peacefully in 1840, I think. In the US we fought a bloody civil war over the issue. The last nation in the Americas to outlaw slavery was Brazil. Slavery is still practiced in some Muslim countries. The way this question is phrased, particularly with inverted commas around the word Christian, invites the answer that all Christian churches were complicit in enslaving Africans. This absolutely not true. The historical truth is that slavery has vanished from the earth (except in Muslim countries) because of untiring effort of Christian Protestants.

Where do the B52s out of Pease AFB go to?

They are probably there TDY (temporary duty). It is normal for them to deploy for a week or so to a different base. They do this so they can get training for flying from unfamiliar bases and perform training flights in unfamiliar locations. They will usually fly eight to ten hour missions. If they are flying out over the Atlantic, they are either training for maritime reconnaissance or simulating dropping mines (yes, B-52’s can carry sea mines). I went TDY to several bases where the crews flew maritime missions (Dover AFB, Homestead AFB, Loring AFB, etc). If they were flying real combat missions, it would be all over the news.

Which countries would ally if a World War happens in the future? What might be the possible reasons behind the war and the alliances?

Hi. First of all , this will depend very much on when the war happens . Because alliances and preferences of each country towards another usually keep changing every 5–10 years. So assuming that this situation arrives in the nearby future , i will be writing the possible scenario below.Alliance 1 -This alliance will obviously be lead by US in one or another way. So the countries taking part in this alliance will possibly be -USCanadaUKEU countries (Greece is a doubt).AustraliaJapanVietnamPhilippinesTaiwanS. KoreaUkraineIsraelIndia (loosely associated)Brazil (loosely associated)Alliance 2 -This alliance will be lead by a Russia-China collaboration possibly. The countries that can possibly support this alliance are -RussiaChinaPakistanVenezuelaIranN. KoreaBelarusSyriaEcuadorCubaNote- The reason why i kept India and Brazil on US’s side is that even though they are somewhat allied with Russia too , but India is slowly making a shift away from Russian technologies and moving towards US weapons whereas Brazil might be good with Russia but still has more US influence on it. So in the end , India and Brazil will be too confused to take sides but will be loosely associated with US possibly.Any suggestions will be welcomed . So please comment.EDIT-1 - India will not oppose Russia which is true but India will oppose China which will be in the same alliance as Russia. So it is true that India will never directly be against Russia but indirectly it will be .
