Help The Cable That Comes With My New Ipad Doesn

Does the Apple Component AV Cable work with the iPad to output video to HDTV?

Bought a component cable for iPad 2 (my TV doesn't support HDMI). It only displays 'video' from the youtube app on the iPad. For games and others...only the audio signal comes out of tv, but no video, NO MIRRORING. Tips!

My iPod doesn't show up in my computer or iTunes?

A little guide, with a several suggestions:

1. Try restarting your computer.

2. Re-install iTunes. (after making backup)

3. Verify that your computer meets the minimum system requirements. iOS devices require the following minimum version of Windows:

4. Download and install any available software updates from Microsoft.

5. Connect the device directly to your computer; not to an external USB hub. Find out if your computer has USB 2.0 ports.

6. Check that the dock connector on both the device and cable are clean of any lint or other debris. If possible, connect your device using a different Apple 30-pin to USB cable.

7. Disconnect other USB peripherals from your computer, with the exception of your keyboard and mouse. After disconnecting these peripherals, restart your computer, connect your device, and open iTunes.

8. Connect your device to a different USB port on your computer.

9. Use the Task Manager to stop some Apple Services:

Launch the Task Manager:
For Windows XP: Press Control + alt + delete on the keyboard.
For Windows Vista and Windows 7: Press Control + alt + delete on the keyboard. Then click "Start Task Manager".

If Windows needs your permission to continue, click "Continue".
Click the Processes tab of the Task Manager. End each of these three processes by clicking in their names and choosing "End Process":
iTunesHelper.exe
AppleMobileDeviceService.exe
iPodService.exe
After ending these processes, reboot your computer, open iTunes, and test.

10. Connect your device to a different computer to determine whether the issue is specific to your computer.

11. Also you can try these steps
Disconnect your iPhone, iPad or any other iDevice from your computer, and close iTunes.

- Go to Start menu –> Computer –> Organize > Folder and search options –> In the file browser click View tab (change Hidden files and folders” option to “Show hidden files and folders.”)

- Locate Apple folder, which by default can be found at C:\ProgramData\Apple

- Trash the Lockdown folder and reconnect your device and open iTunes.

Why can't Apple make their cables (iPhone, iPad, Macbook) more durable?

I have no idea if they can't but I know that they don't. It's my number one bitch about Apple. I've replaced numerous cables, both from iPhones and Macbook PSUs. Specially the PSU failures are really annoying and expensive. To have to 'throw' away a perfectly good power supply just because of a bad cable design is very disturbing to me. My MacBooks have always been stationary on my desk or lap, with the cable permanently attached, in one place. They perhaps get moved a couple of times in all the years of use. My iPhones have always been charged at night, from a permanently plugged-in wall charger near my bedside table. They don't get abused, ever. Never pulled by the cable instead of the connector but they all fail eventually. Two problem areas always come up. The connector/cable interface and the outer cover of the cable separating from the inner cores, which will eventually cause the cover to disintegrate somewhere along the line. It actually goes to pieces. Wrapping them in tape will let them function for a while longer but not for long. The latest cable problems I have come across is the new 8-pin iPhone connectors. The connection starts failing after a year or so. I have a suspicion that the Gold wears off the connecting pins, allowing the underlining metal to corrode and present a high resistance to the connection. Am I the only one who has experienced that? Of course I've also had a genuine Apple 8-pin connector separate from the cable already. Why O why can't they get this right? I don't recall any other piece of electronics I have owned and used to have the same problems as Apple does. Maybe the 'Touch 'n Feel' takes preference over good old engineering quality?

Why won't my iPad connect to iTunes?

How to Fix iTunes Doesn't Recognize iPhone/iPad/iPod on PC/Mac1. Restart your computer and your iPhone, iPad or iPod.2. Check that you have installed the latest version of iTunes on your computer.3. Make sure your iOS device trusts your computer: unlock the device and tap Trust.4. Check the USB cable to make sure that you have the Apple-supplied USB cable directly connect to your device. And even you can use another USB data cable and have a try.5. For Windows Users: make sure that Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed. Follow the steps below to check it:Step 1. Connect your iPhone/iPad/iPod to the computer. Quit iTunes if it opens.Step 2. Open Device Manager. Press "Windows Logo" and "R" key at the same time. On the appearing dialog, type "devmgmt.msc" and click "OK".Step 3. Click the "+" icon or disclosure triangle next to "Universal Serial Bus controllers" to expand this selection.

Apple component av cable or Apple digital av adapter?

Which is best depends what input cables your TV will accept. If your TV has a free HDMI input, then the digital AV adapter is the way to go because it will result in the best picture quality. If your TV doesn't have a free HDMI slot, but has a free component input, then the component AV cable is the way to go. If it has neither of these, you will need to buy a composite av cable.

A couple more points to note. Make sure your Apple device is compatible with the adapter that you buy. The digital AV adapter is only compatible with last two generations of iOS devices. If you buy the AV adapter, you will need to buy an additional HDMI cable.

Why does my iPad say 'not charging' even when it is plugged in?

The problem: The iPad says it’s "Not Charging", and two things could happen:it is not chargingit's actually charging, but really slowly. The issue here is that iPad is receiving enough power from the charger to operate, but it's not enough to charge the battery. The iPad requires certain power level to charge normally. For example an iPad Mini usually uses about 1.7W-2.2W while you're using it. If the charger only passes this amount or less, then you’ll get the “not charging” message. To solve the problem, you have to check 3 things:chargercableUSB port/ outletThe problem is caused by one of these 3 elements.Your USB port could be old (not high-power), the cable can be damaged, or the charger could be a cheap, non-MFi-certified charger, or maybe an iPhone charger. If you use the regular iPad charger with the original cable + power outlet, you shouldn’t see this message. Also, in some cases on USB port of the computer will charge the iPad, and the other won’t.But if you turn off the iPad it will charge faster as it will not use energy while you are charging it.
