Help Vet Not Available

Help! My dog ate allergy pills!?

I found an allergy pill on the floor that and i believe that my dogs ate a pill. I have two dogs...one is a 1 yr and 6 months old beagle... the other is a 6 month old keeshond pup. I already let them drink some milk to dilute the chemicals but what other things can i do that will help them. A vet is not available right now. pleas help!

I think my dog broke her leg and vet isn't open today. I need help??

I have a 3/4 pug who since last night has had not been putting any weight on her back right paw. I called her vet whom said to bring her in today but forgot to tell me thant the office is closed on wednesdays! (I do understand it was late at night and he was being patient with me and i was upset). Should I call the doctor emergency service again or should I wait till tomarrow. I am just afraid of causing permenate damage. I tried to feel her leg and ahe does not whine or bark at me. I checked her paws and nails and they both seem to be fine. She jsut doen't put her leg down and she will shake a times to.(I think it is the pain).

Should i call the vet again or wait till tomarrow?

Mouse has a huge bleeding lump/boil on leg HELP!!!?

It sounds like an abscess that popped. It may or may not become infected depending upon if all of the poison drains out. Usually the exotic vet will drain it and apply a topical antibiotic ointment and/or oral antibiotics. The following thread discuss this:

It could also be an ulcerated tumor, cyst or simply a wart that ulcerated. Either way requires vet attention. I recently took my MegaMouse to the vet as she developed a red lump on her. It turned out it was only a type of non-contagious wart. The vet said to bring her back if it ulcerates, but due to her age, she did not recommend putting her under for surgery.

TFM is a mouse forum started and run by breeders. The site gets a lot of traffic. You might try posting there, too.

Sorry-gave you the wrong link above, but I corrected it. My computer did not copy it for some reason the first time.

Help Cat is in pain, Vet closed. Need Home remedy?

There should be an animal emergency clinic somewhere, or one that is open 24 hours, or an on-call vet. Finding one quickly would be the best thing right now.

In the meantime, keep your cat in an enclosed area so that he can't dash around and injure himself further. Surround him with pillows, soft blankets, etc.

DO NOT put peroxide on the wound! Peroxide eats away at flesh and it will not heal properly. If it is actively bleeding, get some clean towels and put pressure on it until it stops. If it's just oozing you could try cleaning it with some mild soap and bandage it lightly. DO NOT give aspirin either, or any other human medication. Some can be extremely toxic to cats.

Good luck!

We can't afford a vet, so how can we help heal our cat's wounds?

Wash the wound thoroughly. Apply Peroxide. It will bubble up as its working. Then apply a small amount of Neosporin to each area. You may want to cut the hair shorter around these areas if it is messy. Watch these wounds carefully. If pus forms he will need an antibiotic.
Peroxide will not hurt your pet if used correctly nor will small amounts of Neosporin.
