Help What Happened To My Nexus 5 After Wiping Cash

Google Nexus 5: My N5 is 7 months old but I am getting a battery life of just 9 hours. Does rooting the phone and reducing resolution help?

Switch off GPS and mobile internet when not in use. Also, it is advisable to connect to the internet via WiFi, which drains the battery lesser. If you have a 3G connection, it is good to switch to 2G mode when you ain't using internet. This happens when WiFi is easily available or when you want only WhatsApp and some other notification apps active which are not data intensive in nature (office hours). You can access this from "mobile networks" in settings. If you have installed Android Lollipop, it lets you customise the way apps use your internet services. A good trick is to let only the trustworthy apps use internet in "background" (background is when you don't use the app, but the app can use internet for updations, synchronising data etc). The other apps will work with "restricted background usage". You can access this from "Data Usage" in settings.Yet another option is to stop synchronisation of multiple accounts, like google photos, calendar etc. You can access it from "accounts" in settings.Wiping cache partition is an advanced way which can help some users. And remember, the last but sometimes very effective option is to restore factory settings. Just a backup for contacts need to be made as in Lolllipop, you can get back most of the apps and settings from Google servers.I know you asked specifically about rooting, but I thought this might help you.

My mobile device is Nexus 5. After I have been updated to Android 4.4.4 most of time my Nexus 5 shows this message: "Failed to initial Camera". How can I fix this problem?

try rebooting your device to the "recovery mode" by pressing (volume UP + power button + home button) (or check the menu appearing when you long pressing the power button, it may be added there, for some ROMs it can be added from settings -> developers options -> tick "advanced reboot")then choose "wipe cache" or "wipe dalvick~" but don't choose "wipe data" to avoid deleting your apps & files located in the internal storage. this may help but i'm not sure about it!

How do I stop my Android Lollipop from "Optimizing app" on boot?

Hey there! I hope I can list some information that can help. I know how aggravating it is when something goes haywire after an update.I did some research on this issue specifically and found it to be a known issue. There are others going through the same situation. Here are some steps to try:First, I would try to recall if the issue happened after installing an app and if so, remove it. You can always reinstall an app that is a must have. (This is hit or miss but worth troubleshooting.)Second, I would try the troubleshooting steps provided by Motorola. The following steps were released in an effort to resolve the issue:1. Ensure the device is powered off, and unplugged2. Press and hold the Volume Down button and Power button (located on the right edge of the device) for approximately 3 seconds then release.3. From the "Boot Mode Selection Menu" screen, select Recovery.Note: Use the Volume Down button to scroll through the menu options and the Volume Up button to select.4. From the "No Command" screen (Android figure lying on his back), press and hold the Power button then press and release the Volume Up button to display the menu options.5. Select "wipe cache partition".Note: Use the Volume buttons to highlight and the Power button to select.6. "Reboot system now" will be highlighted, press the Power button to select it.Note: Allow several minutes for the reboot process to complete.Third, if that doesn’t work, there is always the option to restore to factory settings. I know it is normally the least desirable but it is effective. I would back up as much information as the situation will allow. The last step, if not already done, would be to contact your carrier for their tech support department. These situations can sometimes be carrier specific. If you have insurance or mobile protection through Asurion, that gives you a couple of options. Total Mobile Protection will give you one on one support that will be with you until the end. Devices, when purchased new, come with a one year warranty. If you have insurance, it could be extended to a two year warranty. If it’s within the one year warranty and there is no liquid / physical damage, Motorola would generally replace the device. Here are a couple of resources for you -"Android is Starting" "Optimizing App x of xxx" With Restarts of the phone 5.1 VerizonOptimizing apps on every rebootHow to fix 'Android is starting' optimization on every boot?Hope this helps!

I have a Nexus 5 and am currently running the KitKat 4.4.4. Ever since the update it's been facing all sorts of lagging of sorts and especially today the screen seems to be not functioning like it used i.e I press a button it does something it's not program to do.

Sometimes if you update the device via OTA (Over the air) update, it is possible, that device gets unstable. You can do anyone of the following:1. I suggest you to do this only if you are a pro user:a) Power off the Nexus 5 completelyb) Next, press and hold Volume Down, Volume Up and Power simultaneously, don’t release the buttons until Fastboot Mode menu appears.c) Now look for the Wipe cache partition option and select it, by pressing power button after reaching the option by using volume button2. You can go to service centre, so that they can reinstall the update and make it stable.Enjoy.

HTC One (M7) Red Triangle?

My Dad updated his phone (Android) and he got a Red Triangle with Exclamation Point Error. It means something failed and it won't go away. I pressed power and both volume buttons and it brings up a screen with these options:
reboot system now
apply from sd card
apply from cache
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
What do I do? If I can't fix it my dad will switch carriers and I'll lose my IPhone. :{

What is the solution for a Gmail app syncing issue after an OTA update of Android Lollipop in a Nexus device?

Clearing App data will work but the next sync might take a long time. However another method which I use often is to go to the Accounts section and select Google to see your accounts Listed. Make sure you are connected to Wifi or using 3g. Now select the account which has not synced. You will be able to see the Google Apps installed on your phone and the sync status.  Now simply toggle the sync option on each of the Apps to manually re-sync the data. This should also work properly on devices upto 5.1.1

How can I resolve an Android 5.1.1 update error in a Nexus 4?

Steps to follow:1. The first place to go, and maybe the best place to go, is the Nexus Help Forum. This is a great place to share and absorb feedback and it’s also a great place to ask for help with problems. It’s a very active community and it’s the first place to turn if you can’t find a fix for your issue. (Or if you’re lazy and don’t want to dig much.)2. Two other places come to mind. If you don’t like the Nexus Help Forum, try Android Central’s Nexus forums orXDA-Developers for help.3. Well you could go in Recovery and wipe dalvik/cache and see if it helps. True, but why Nexus owners side load is too get the update ASAP since Google publish the firmware right after it's released. And everything is the same as before but i think when you do that the first time it will take a factory reset since you are unlocking the boot loader.
